For most it's a Happy ending cause they end up together, and all the good guys lead happy lives.
I'm hit or miss, but mainly even if I hate something I try to find those who'll love it, and even if I love something I won't rec to someone I know wouldn't care for it.
The only exception being 'Goblin' I will never recommend that to anyone...
I suggest Lee Jae Wook next, he had a bad project or too, but his acting is soooo enjoyable.
Bad might be the wrong word... The two I was referring to were 'Extrordinary You' and 'Battle of Jangsari' EY - started strong but the writing really wained. Jangsari - in case they don't like wartime stories...
Bad was def the wrong word...
Also I'd strongly rec memories of alhambra. I avoided it for a year because of PSH, Hyun Bin, and the sappy MDL description. One day when I was in the mood for fluffy garbage I decided it'd be perfect for that, I kid you not, it is a suspense thriller. PSH isn't in it nearly as much as most female leads, she's pretty present in the beginning but after that her screen time decreases. and then increases a bit towards the end. Also the character isn't as unbearable as her normal characters, she didn't cry for no reason.
Not sure what HDL is, but Goblin and DotS are both by the same writer, if that helps.
Yeah, if you already didn't like KES's writing then you'd be likely to dislike the drama as a whole. TKEM has some good scenes, and one absolutely fantastic character arc that I can't help gush over, but other than that the writing is abysmal.
Yeah, as I said, I was content after ep 2 where he's joing the hotel. I just wasn't curious after that.
Not sure what HDL is, but Goblin and DotS are both by the same writer, if that helps.
I still dislike Goblin more despite much better production value (from what I remember anyway). Because the drama acts as if that relationship is normal, and it not only condones relationships with minors, but grooming as well.
Yeah, pranks and I have been talking. I'm still considering watching this one cause KYJ is one of the younger…
The first time through TKEM wasn't okay (probably cause I was laughing my head off), but I def skipped things by 3rd time through.
Yeah, My mum hates sad endings. I'll never forget how much she despises the ending of faith, secretly greatly, and king and the clown.
It's not age, my dad is all for watching deeper stuff. Although one of my friends (who has two kids) theorized that it has more to due with having given birth, hormones and such XD.
I am the same with all of my shows, doesn't matter which language they are in.
I've found recently that I don't hate romance, I just hate badly written romance XD
Yeah, pranks and I have been talking. I'm still considering watching this one cause KYJ is one of the younger…
Yeah, most of Itaewon traffic isn't actually from itaewon. They tend to be people from outta seoul looking for a weekend party, or people from other regions of seoul looking for a night of fun. Also it's a foreigner hotspot so things normally taboo in Korea (like gay clubs), don't have as much issue there. Basically what happened was tons of people got infected from briefly visiting then going back to their home towns.
Yeah, although I mostly watch on netflix since I'm not living with my parents currently... They get all the good channels like TvN, OCN, etc...
Not sure what HDL is, but Goblin and DotS are both by the same writer, if that helps.
Scratch that, it took some thinking but I now know what HDL is, and yeah for me it was overhyped. After ep 2 I was like, "yup, that's where it ends, was a cute 2 ep drama, no need to continue" I've considered picking it up again because although I didn't care for it the actors are great and FL is fantastic.
Yeah, pranks and I have been talking. I'm still considering watching this one cause KYJ is one of the younger…
I think there's just something about her characters I find annoying..
Yeah, we were done into single digit cases per day and then suddenly in early-mid may the itaewon cases happened leading to pockets of new cases across the country.
Yeah, pranks and I have been talking. I'm still considering watching this one cause KYJ is one of the younger…
It's not really about who's handsome, we both agree on who is handsome (although I pay more attention to female actors as well), it's just that she doesn't care about writing and acting as long as the premise is somewhat interesting, the actors are pretty, and it ends happy. So basically even if I think a drama is really shallow there is still a chance mom will like it. This isn't to say she dislikes well crafted dramas, she loves plenty of them, it's just when it comes down to it she doesn't really have standards other than 'not stressful' and 'not dark'. She'd hate It's okay to not be, and although she said TKEM was often boring she still liked it overall.

Sibs, friends, and anyone who will listen. It's one of the reason I watched TKEM to the end. My sis will absolutely love scenes from that one, but I have to curate a skip through viewing for her like I did for two of my other sibs. Also I can better recommend it to those who would like it, like my mom. It's kinda sad cause I usually see something that I'd probably dislike and be like "Mom would love this!"
Yeah, pranks and I have been talking. I'm still considering watching this one cause KYJ is one of the younger…
GIRL... YOU GOTTA GO BACK! XD there are after the credits scens for like all the eps... one includes a cameo, though you probably wouldn't have seen that movie.
I've watched him in a bunch of movies. I respect GHJ's acting, but I'm not really a fan... I don't know why.
Because I came in 30-ish minutes into the ep, and after it ended I switched to watch the news. At that point the Itaewon cases were still a big deal so I wanted to know if anything new had happened.
Why would you pair her with middle aged men . It's better if there is no romance between them
5 yrs age difference is not an ahjussi romance... Just like the main female from 'big' wouldn't be called Ahjumma. Ahjussi usually is used for strangers who are clearly 12-ish years older than you (AKA biologically old enough to be your dad).
I don't know what to call the middle ground since 'oppa' romance wouldn't be specific at all.
For me it'll depend on how the characters pan out. I dislike when people say Goblin wasn't that bad cause there was only a 12 year age gap, because they forget that she's portraying a 17 year old, making it a 22 year age gap between the characters. Also for me if the younger character is above 25 and acts like a mature adult it isn't as much of an issue, but if they are immature they need to mature before getting into ANY kind of relationship.
2 age gap romances I was okay with are Memories of alhambra and My girlfriend's a gumiho. MoA: F(27-28) behaves like an adult and has no trouble handling issues like an adult, M(39-40) is also clearly an adult and is not a petty man child like Kim Shin. My girlfriend's a gumiho: I'm not sure supernatural age gaps count, but both characters start incredibly immature and somehow mature together and it's just one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. *wipes tear of happiness from eye*
As for this project in particular, I really hope they either keep it to a minimum, or write a freaking good, mature relationship with healthy interactions.

Jo Jung Suk is fantastic, I highly recommend Two cops, and Oh my ghostess. OH RIGHT Park Bo Young is fantastic but her projects are usually a miss for me.
Actually, someone I was talking to has disappeared. Friendly discussion and his/her comments were polite. As a…
Oh gosh, if that was me I'm sorry. Sometimes I get a bit insecure about whether I should have said something or not and before I know it I try to rectify it... not exactly the best method.
The only exception being 'Goblin' I will never recommend that to anyone...

Yup, that is correct.
