Indeed. But Im upset af as some folks in Asianwiki complained that SHS has older face and she is out of character…
I wasn't talking from historical accuracy, this drama threw that out a long time ago. I was just talking from the age standpoints of the actors. While it's a bit weird that the age doesn't line up, I agree the casting was brilliant.
I'm really not sold on the story of a male soul occupying a female body and falling in love with another male.…
So far it's sufficiently covered and makes a lot more sense than other romances. As a full grown woman who didn't have certain hormonal side effects until this past week, I empathize with him deeply, our bodies kinda suck.
My bf and I were at a guest house when an ahjumma turned on the tv but I wasn't caught up yet! I kept wondering wtf was going on, well now I know XD It's getting intense!

There's no way she should be 14, none of the younger actors were less than 10 :/
Recently uncanny counter had a 14, 24, and 29 Y/O playing the same age, and the casting still worked. This can get away with the age inconsistency by keeping the elder actors in the same range, but to cast minors for this would have been a nightmare.
I actually enjoyed her latest drama Start Up a lot, and Dream High was her first drama I saw and she was very…
Here in Korea she's known for her pretty face, great personality, but if you talk about her acting people are quick to list her as a bad actress. It's quite a shame actually, as I said I really admire that she seems to be improving. There are a good handful of A-listers who just can't act, but since they don't have to worry about getting roles they have no real motivation to improve. The fact that Suzy actually seems to be making an effort to get better at it has her off my "don't watch" list.
I also didn't really notice the product placement until a friend complained. Then I realized they always eat at…
The rule of thumb holds true for western media as well, but usually they are either very subtle about it or they make it a joke in the movie/tv show. I think the brand most guilty for their product placement is Sony.
TBH I noticed the kimchi one by myself because if Yeong were to bring kimchi to a place he knew already had kimchi, it would be family made not store bought XD
While I agree Suzy is improving (based off some recent clips I've seen), everything I've seen her in since dream high had similar bad acting. I do admire that she's one of the few Bad-At-Acting A-listers who seems to actually be improving despite getting consistent roles with no worry about losing them due to lack of skill.
yo people have to chill down a bit with the bad review, I watched this drama up to ep 3 and dropped coz it was…
"but this is like when you do an exam and the teacher gives you a low mark coz he doesn't like you" No, it's much more like receiving a grade well deserved with copious feedback notes, but for something that shouldn't be of consequence. If I were to rate it on quality alone it'd receive a few stars here and there for the stellar bits. However the exceptional areas made the lacking areas all the more noticeable. Like when you've received a terribly misworded, misspelled essay in the most beautiful handwriting imaginable. Examples: 1. The costume design can be gorgeous at times, however is incredibly inaccurate (crown and gown from different era according to my friend who won't shut up about Korean history) 2. Also the Japanese architecture and submarine 3. Woo Do Hwan's seamless duel performance paired with Kang Kyung Nam's heart wrenching portrayal, when compared to Lee MinHo in every Lee MinHo role ever. 4. Well casted, well acted, menacing antagonists who don't accomplish a single thing the entire show. 5. A badass female lead, heroic King (very hard to not have a damsel in distress scenario)
Now if I were to rate on my lvl of enjoyment while watching this for the first time, it'd get a 7/10 because it managed to make me laugh, cry, bang my head, and gave me something to discuss while in quarantine.
Underrated and overhated in the comments and the reviews here in MDL, but this one is up top with the classics. If…
Depends on the classic you're referring to. For example, I'd gladly watch this over autumn in my heart, however this doesn't hold a candle to titles such as My Love From Another Star, It's Okay That's love, Coffee Prince, and Iljimae.
Im mid watching because unlike most viewers im not a fan of stanning actors on a whole (thats a whole other beast…
I also didn't really notice the product placement until a friend complained. Then I realized they always eat at one chicken place (I've tried it, their chicken sucks), Paris Baguette makes the King's favorite bread, Second female lead runs a cafe that can be found IRL and has 3 sports cars visible, FL likes her portable kahi skincare, King and prime minister like their giant face mask, they always eat store bought kimchi, Georgia coffee is "Just how Yeong makes it" ETC
Rule of thumb: if you can see the brand name, it's sponsored.
Didn't really bother me though, sometimes it was incredibly entertaining
glad that character is dead though.

Yeah, she's cool!
I meant upto ep 6
