Perhaps you can post all these ratings analysis in the discussion field. Its very interesting and I love to read but its a bit spamy in comment section where drama discussion should be prioritize
I can't resist and bought the SVIP. Wow, they really took a deep turn. Without giving too many spoilers, there are two poignant scenes displayed well in terms of directing, editing, and acting in the latest SVIP episodes. The Songge and Liu Na scene and Chen Hui and Hai Ge scene, I love that this drama makes people think. Not for the technicalities, or the possible plot twist but the anticipation of the characters making the right choices when face with opportunities. It feels realistic and raw, reminding us why there are criminals in this world. If all of us can make the right choices, have the morality or common sense, there will be zero crime and bad people, there will be no war.
In the oversaturated plot era of dramas focusing on the chivalry of the main leads, 800 meters really brought in something fresh. They don't create plot to get audience to root for someone who has been wronged and will get their ultimate revenge. Its the story of one wrong decision leads to the other wrong decision. Hopefully this will wrapped up well. Surprisingly amazing writing in emotional crime genre from c-drama.
what do you mean by "it went to other character?" You didn't see any changes in Mei Zhuyu at all?
There are changes but the way as if the scenes given to him was treated "just enough" rather than a true focus makes the watching experience left unfulfilled. For example when he fell with wu Zhen they make the whole scenes after that as if he had just suffered a blow from the fire demon itself but after he was punished in Changxi the scenes after that goes straight to him going down the mountain. The feelings that audience supposed to feel fell flat both times. But when it comes to other characters scenes lingers so long on them that it almost felt too long.
Watching up until episode 26. I feel like everyone's character background and growth especially the book demon was fully fleshed out and concentrate on. Feels like the male lead role has no development. His scenes jumps right into "the purpose" of the scene and once the line delivered it went to other character which takes out the whole continuity of the male lead purpose in this drama. Give a very bad taste in watching experience.
You mean they gave him spicy food? That was to drive home the point that marriage is not easy when you can't even…
I feel like the script is trying to achieve too much by adding this. In my opinion, they are humiliating Han Ting by doing that during a dinner with all parties involve. They seek to punish him for what he done but never address what their daughter did to him.
Am I the only one who has issues with how Ji Xing parents feels they have the right to punish Han Ting for "hurting" their daughter. It just rubbed me off the wrong way
I am not fazed at all by Cheng Huan mom, it may seem her character is unrealistic, but I have seen worst mom to my friends in real life. At least she seems to love her daughter in twisted way. My friend's mom outrightly said her daughter is stupid in front of the whole school.
Finally catch up with the latest episode. I like it that its quite different from most Chinese urban drama. Will reserve my opinion until I watch more episodes but two things that keep me wondering if there is any significant in these shots, when at the gym why does the director zoom in on Yao Zhiming massaging his biceps, and the other scenes is what was that painkiller Yao Zhiming took for? Is the shot deliberate or is there a significant meaning to these scenes.
The moment I see comparisons between two very obviously different genre dramas, I automatically consider that…
If one is a good critics, they don't need to justify their critic by making a comparison with another drama, because they should know what is the flaws and weaknesses they saw and feels from the criticized drama, when they feel the need to compare to another drama means their mindset already has that thoughts from the beginning of their watch journey.
I have no idea why people want to compare a reverse harem drama with a comedy/light romance.I haven't seen sokp…
It has a typical irrational plot just to get audience on their toes without reason. All the villains has no reasonable background stories to justify why they wanted to scheme other than its because it was written that way, so that the audience will feel frustration and anger, triggering a wave of "damn it I hope that villain get painful ending" and this drama already set up to fulfilled that needs because they know audience like that, and not due to the creative writings and ideas by the original creator.
I have just finished watching the whole series. Tbh I did not expect such amazing ride. The storyline had its flaws but oh boy director and actors did such amazing job that I am emotionally impact by the time I finished the last episodes, especially the performance from the two main leads. I hope they can work together again.
P. S : SOKP has very weak acting and cliche "heart-gripping" plot, and I prefer WOL than SOKP but I don't feel the need to do it at the other drama page like some users here. Criticize the weakness, flaws of THIS drama, whats the point of bringing it for comparison here other than trying to get your poor judgement validified.
They ruined this story for me from ep38 onwards sigh story of Kunning palace is better than this for me now nd…
This obsession of comparing Kunning Palace with WOL is really annoyed me reading it over and over again more than you are annoyed with the ending. Go and glow your praises for Kunning Palace at their drama page, you can write all the terrible things about this drama here. Kunning Palace has weak and cringey acting if that's the level you are seeking for then go there.
This drama really has everything good in it. One of the thing that really won me is how usually contract marriage trope has the typical rich CEO domineering and poor girl with unique personality to capture his heart, there are rarely mention about financial worries, everything is just suddenly available. So it was very enlightening that this drama actually depict a real life financial situations of many families. Qin Shi's parents financial issues scenes is so realistic and I love that Qin Shi was calling Yang Hua to express her frustrations in a very "woops did not expect that with my family", kind of way. Also the way both of them interact about really makes it endearing how far and natural their relationship has progressed. Tao Junhui scene with Wu Fei about buying the expensive house is also good. Wu Fei has the financial capital behind her so she never thought of back up plan, while Tao Junhui came from normal family, he must have earn a lot but he was right that a mansion that cost millions is for millionaire, his capability is a three story house at most. The financial situation of the leads are also realistic. Yang Hua's family seems more well off than Qin Shi's family as that house in Shanghai market definitely cost millions and Yang Hua paid half for it. While individually Qin Shi is more financially stable than Yang Hua, although Yang Hua not bad himself with his stock trading. Love the variation condition of life surrounding the two leads and the leads themselves.
Qin Shi and Yang Hua is so endearing. They are so natural and comfortable around each other that you just can't help to think they belong to each other.
The scene where Qin Shi's mom, SIL, step-mom gossiping asking about Yang Hua is so realistic haha
