I think Fourth is a very good actor, so I'm always happy to watch him. The original JBL is a fav, and so far this pales in comparison. But I'll watch for Fourth.

Underwear under boxers for one helps with that, like FrankIncense said with so many people around it's a vibe…
And there were still 40 people watching them a every moment. Would you get aroused with 40 people watching?

They are surrounded by 40 people aiming lights at them, doing their hair, make up, rehearsing their lines, getting…
hair and makeup are actually the very last people to interact with them before they begin filing any scene. it's called "last looks" before a scene film.

The vibe of this episode was so reserved very cool. Following Hayama around gave me a sweet, melancholy mixed with nostalgia vibes. Watching him watch himself and critique his performance (the same performance that made Shirasaki admire him) made him so sympathetic. We spent half the episode watching him remember why he fell in love with acting... NOT why he fell in love with Shirasaki. Interesting choice. The atmosphere at the two different bars was also funky and cool. And then BANG... that drunken request!

Are we going to get yet another misunderstanding though?
"I can't go after Hayama because somebody else said they liked him."

Im really curious what do they do if they get a boner while shooting love scene in fiction as well as in real…
They are surrounded by 40 people aiming lights at them, doing their hair, make up, rehearsing their lines, getting direction.... every touch and kiss is choreographed. Bite his lip, turn to camera, tilt your head back, look into his eyes. Kinda ruins the b*ner-vibes - but I'm sure it still happens.

Low budget but well done.
An interesting take on a familiar existential question.
Sweet despite the tragedy elements.
Open ended, since they're in what appears to be a loop (until they both learn to communicate better?) but still hopeful with that last smile.

I enjoyed this one.

Ummm.... this is a literal MINOR we're talking about? Age gaps are fine as long as both are over 21, meaning they're…
Pedophilia would require the older actor to actually WANT to have sex with the younger actor. Acting with an underage person cannot in itself be called pedophilia. If he was kissing a white guy, it wouldn't mean he was into white guys. It would mean he was acting.

These men are surrounded by 40 people at all times when they are "performing" their scenes. While they may look naked, they are always wearing clothing that is hidden from view. No sex is involved. So no pedophilia.

Could they have cast better.... sure.

Ugh. I hate a flashback episode. And one that ends 10 seconds after the last episode is entirely useless. We all knew Asami liked Yuki. I didn't need 22 minutes retreading something I already knew.

Just curious... how many people here (in MDL) fell in love with their fist crush and NEVER got over it? I know it's a "trope", but you would think this is a worldwide phenomenon considering how often it is used in BL. I remember my first crush. If I saw him again today, I doubt I would think twice about him.
On Living with Him May 30, 2024
I'm fascinated by how many people disliked this series. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Was it perfect? No. Few BL are. Was it repetitive? Yes. all BL are. Did it fizzle out? Yes, most BL do. They could have finished this in 5 or 6 eps with the same result. Delete all the cooking scenes and it's only 5 eps anyway

Were the kisses horrible. Absolutely. I prefer the "hidden by the back of his head" kiss to the fish lips - but that doesn't make or break a series for me. I would have been fine if they never kissed in this series.

But I enjoyed the acting and loved these characters, so ultimately I was satisfied. I'd watch again. However, I am dreading Episode 9. I fear all fluff/montage and no real reason for the episode.

On mdl people aren't protesting much, but on other platforms it's getting dragged to the ground,I was afraid it…
Haven't run into that one yet, thank goodness. I'll steer clear.

Yes, it's frustrating to see him take a half baby step forward and then they throw another minor obstacle in front of him and he takes 2 steps back... every single episode

And yes, they were great communicators at the start and have regressed

But da**, I was screaming at the screen. JUST TELL HIM!!! I was tearing up. I felt all the anguish. I just can't stop loving these two.

And those sisters!

Can't wait til the next ep

I don't know if it's that I have watched too many JBLs or that their plot is predictable but I was expecting him…
Yes, it's a super trope!
On Addicted Heroin May 23, 2024
Not sure about the trailer. It did not give me the vibes of the source material, but it's always hard to tell with scenes out of context. I'll give it a shot, but I'm not expecting much.

the actor of poppy (bly) is 16 years old... i sincerely hope that they won't be letting an adult to do such scenes…
but with another minor it's ok?
On Beats per Minute May 21, 2024
Not much goes on, but it all feels authentic and full of repressed emotion. Strong acting makes it better than the thin script, but overall I enjoyed it.
