Like many here, I enjoyed parts of this, but found the vague "threats" and lack of a complete backstory, on top of the questionable editing, marred the production. I think it's a great premise, some decent acting. I like the unique setting and adult characters. But if you're gonna base a show on the inner workings of the publishing world, you should supply the necessary context for the audience to follow. JungWoo is ostracized because he criticized corruption in the industry (was this specifically ghostwriting? they don't really explain). I'm sure Korea is different than the USA, but here that writer would be praised. People aren't often punished for telling the truth. And his writing would take precedence over any "scandal". Then Jung Hyun (the most popular writer in the country... who apparently has only mediocre writing skills) steals JungWoo's novels and puts his own name on them. And somehow they blame JungWoo??? Again, if they blamed anyone, it would be Jung Hyun for stealing someone else's writing and putting his name on it. They wouldn't really blame the ghostwriter. Jung Hyun keeps saying that JungWoo is going to be hurt if he tries to publish a new novel. Hurt how? By being ostracized again? That seems to be the only possible threat. He's been in agony for 3 years, do you really think that's a threat to him? Then all the back and forth between the publishing companies, the editors, the shifting alliances... none of it really made much sense to me. The whole ending where JungWoo was forced to go back to his old publisher, but then backs out just seemed unnecessary. Both the publisher and Jung Hyung were fairly despicable characters (but they needed villains, so I guess that's ok - but you wonder how JungWoo ever fell for Jung Hyun is he's such an a**. In the end, it was the two handsome leads, some adorable smiles, some super rushed courting and some horrible kisses that were all I was left to hold onto. A mediocre effort that I will not watch again.

Yes, it's clearly a directorial choice. And a poor one.

Both of these boys can act. Phuwin has been in many series already and often been the stand-out. They are definitely being TOLD to behave this way/stand this way. I agree it's horrible fake, but I blame the director.

I loved this. So beautiful. So emotional. I mentioned before that "chemistry" is not something I normally comment on, but here it was "everything". I'm also not a huge fan of supernatural love stories, but even though it was always front and center, it felt secondary to the love story. These two were beautiful, broken, complex, humans and their love was so strong it even overcame biology. Loved Mitchans stoic nature and Koichi's exeuberance (even after his death!). Loved that others could see Koichi and could join in on the journey. A real heartbreaker and a tear jerker, but I'd still put myself through the torment to be with these two angels again and again. Jdramas rule.

Not for me. Feels young, even for a high school show. A bit cheap and amateurish. Nothing horrible, but not strong enough to hold my interest. DROPPED

Art plays the frail naif very well. He's cute AF.

2 episodes in and the editing is a little confusing. 2nd episode had almost 8 minutes of recap, leaving only 18 mins for new story. The dialogue is a bit too vague. Jung Hyun is talking to Jung Woo about the editing job at Literature Square and then asks if he wants to write using his own name... but it's an editing job... ??? Did he ever write under a pen name? I thought he used his real name on the second novel and that's why the woman's publishing company went bankrupt. I can kind of piece it together but wish it was a bit clearer. I like the setting, the business politics and Jung Woo is stunning, but hope future eps will be a bit clearer.

This was not very good. Lots of problems, story-wise and acting-wise. Yet still I found myself sticking it out til the end, so better than a lot of recent BLs. Too many dropped elements (BDSM), the main characters were not consistent at all, 2 completely unnecessary characters (Park & Pong, 2 "bodyguards" who do absolutely nothing. Their comedy bits were not funny. They should have really developed and leaned into a romance between them to at least justify their presence). I don't think I'll bother with S2, if they do produce it. Not recommended, unless you have way too much time on your hands (like me).

A different kind of BL that has its pros and cons, but overall I enjoyed it very much and might revisit certain episodes again for the sweet and vulnerable characters. Lots of kooky humor. I especially loved the "mentor" from the Wall. But the best girl friend was also a great character and somehow turned an annoying fan-girl into a lovable and appealing character. I applaud the production for allowing Mamochi to suffer from depression and not shy away from it. He is a unique character for BL and his arc was actually believable, in that he maintained his attitude even to the end, though he did allow himself one small smile. The last episode felt very rushed, with the "breaking news", the retraction, Mamochi's new manga and the resolution of the love story. It's a shame that being gay would still hurt an idol in this day and age, but it is also very much the truth. I don't believe a simple retraction would fix everything, but then again this is a BL romance, so... it's fantasy. I would have loved a final kiss, but I feel that it was also true to the characters that they did not, so no real complaint there. Off-beat, quirky, and sweet. I'd recommend but keep an open mind. It's not gonna be what you'd expect.

My ex did that to me. After breaking up with me... on my birthday, saying he had lied to me every day of our relationship, he came back 6 months later to say, "Hey we have a lot to talk about. Can we talk?" Um nope.

Yeah, he'll cave in 9, they'll be lovey dovey in 10, ep 11 rears its ugly head and then finale.

Yeah its in soooo many BL. Both are staring lovingly at one another, can't get each other out of their minds, want only to be with the other to the detriment of their friends... and then are surprised when the other declares love - or when they realize they have feelings themselves.

If the source material doesn't give you enough... write something new. It's not hard to find compelling and interesting stories to write... millions of shows do it every day with NO source material.

Agree. I think the pacing of the editing is very slow. It feels lifeless, listless. And there's nothing going on the backgrounds, either to give the scene some energy.

I don't even notice the hair changing. And I like the swimmers bodies being natural. They still look good to me! - As for ABC, I'm enjoying their silly cameraderie. And Bee is cute as well.

I think he's gotten better looking over the last two years. His profile especially is stunning.

I don't usually feel the chemistry between leads, but here its palpable. If these two aren't great friends in real life, then they are phenomenal actors.

A mediocre effort. Intriguing premise (the mirror) that is never explained and seems to change rules to suit the plot as it goes (why can he suddenly see Jun in the last episode?). Acting was not very strong. The two leads show promise and, in time, with some good directing/editing, I'm sure they will give stronger performances. A lot of interesting topics are touched on, but they don't have enough time to fully flesh them out. Didn't dislike it, but not something I would recommend either. Memorably only for its premise.

This episode more than any other really was manga come to life. (They have all been, but it really stood out for me here). The direction and cinematography were as if they just filmed the manga itself. The shot of Issei alone amongst the tall skyscrapers was perfect. Mamochi in shadow crying his eyes out... just beautiful. Kudos to the production team.
