I watched this series a few times already, and it's crazy how many interesting details there is, every time I…
Right?!? I had to rewind. Was that tongue? I think that was tongue. It looks like tongue. I'm not sure. Maybe they found a way to LOOK like tongue without actually french kissing. Nope that was tongue. LOL. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall during that rehearsal/filming. "Hey, is it okay if we totally make out here?"
Best episode yet. We're now past all of the back story and character development and can enjoy the ride to the…
It is kinda weird to hold someone's hand in bed, but then have animosity toward them later. But that's teen angst, gender identity confusion and hormones for ya!
Pure and Folk are excellent together! The chemistry has real sizzle. In general I think the screenwriting for…
I am on high alert for stalkers, but Folk just seems persistent to me. He's respectful, makes his intentions clear and never crosses the line.
And I think Pure is working on many levels. I think he's attracted to Folk, but still playing it loose because of his history. So when he gets between Folk and Pai it's for 2 reasons. His own and to help Itt get with Pai. It's a win/win for him.
I thought there was a touch of sadness to the way he delivered the line "Probably in someone else's bed." Despite his playboy ways, it still hurts him that no one cares for him on a deeper level. As he says, "It's just sex, not love." As long as everyone knows the rules, you have no right too complain. But looks like his tune will change in Ep 10.
I don’t think it’s only because he’s not handsome, it’s because he’s nothing like Gun is described.…
That's it entirely. Cutting those lines about his looks and muscles would not change the story at all. And it would have taken them about 5 mins to re-do the script. Average looking guys fall in love every day. And what's wrong with an average looking BL couple? Just don't call them Adonis and it would all be good.
idk man, it's heartbreaking seeing comments on Win, yes he's not muscular and not as handsome, but hating on him…
There's nothing wrong with an average looking guy. Just don't call him the most handsome muscular guy on campus and no one would call any attention to it.
Agreed. I find it somewhat off-putting how some of these shows marketed themselves as BL when they're not really?…
Honestly, just trying to get more insight and start a discussion here...
I've watched about 30+ "BL" series and the ones I like the most are the ones that break the mold. If you stick to the same tropes every time, how can you ever tell a different story? It will be the same story with different actors. If BL cannot be "grim" or "serious" or "dramatic" or "preachy" and must be "chaste" I am not sure many of the series I have seen could fit that description. Boys cry in almost every series. Isn't that dramatic? SOTUS starts off with 10 very dark episodes that deal with some pretty serious issues. Is that not BL? TharnType has several grim storylines and preachy moments. Until We Meet Again has tragedy as its catalyst. HIStory: Count Our Days ends tragically. Are none of these BL?
It's Boys Love. If two boys are falling in love, isn't that enough? That certainly happens here. This IS all about the romance. It IS very chaste (that scene where they confess their "virginity" to each other is one of the best and most tender scenes in any BL I've watched). And it appears that the end goal (just guessing from the last shot) is a reunion between the lovers.
It seems some want only happy comedies where boyfriends never kiss, but I prefer real life, real emotions and all its complexities. Call it whatever you like.
Loved, loved, LOVED this series. Made me cry more than any other BL ever. I am in love with Mico and that's because JC did an AMAZING job. Yes, I agree that Tony was not as strong, but his personal charisma carried it when his acting chops fell short. All of the Young Padawans were great. Dang, I wish these guys were my friends. The challenge these actors had, filming in isolation without anyone to react against, without even being able to see your scene partner(s) on-screen while you were filming, is mind-blowing. Big ups to you all!
But the production values! Wow. This looked like a feature film to me. It was so well shot, edited, directed. This is the standard - and to think it was all accomplished during lockdown with limited crew and mostly the cast filming themselves. The prep for this must have been so challenging, and they did such a great job. Kudos to the entire production team. Thank you for raising the bar.
I've already watched it 2-1/2 times. I know I'll come back again. I could just watch one episode and that would be enough to take me back into this world and these characters' lives (I do this with my favorite books, just open to any chapter and re-enter the world entirely).
Well! You really don't need a big budget production to make an excellent mini-serie. The Thai better up their…
I think the acting was an even bigger challenge here (and on all lockdown productions). These actors are alone, with no one to react against (what they supposedly see and hear on the screens in front of them was actually blank - they just had to act in a literal box), and also with a virtual rehearsal period. The fact that these guys do so well means they are even more talented.
@CL7 Isn't that also discrimination to say?Because they could only been attracted to that 1 person, which doesn't…
If you love a man, and enjoy sex with a man -even if it’s only one specific man - what is the word to use then? Just asking. Whatever that word is, more BL should use it
Also when they kissed, it all felt so natural. This is just a pet peeve of mine but in several BLs when they kiss…
Yes, this "gay only for you" trope is over-used, so grateful it was handled differently here. I think BL should explore gender fluidity more and in some depth, rather than just use the "gay only for you" trope.

So happy!
People disagree. That's normal. But you can do so in a respectful manner without name-calling, etc.
