This is odd to me. I have read the webtoon and it is one of my all time favs. However, it makes me wonder about…
True, but also having read the webtoon, there's the big reveal scene towards the end of the webtoon remember? When the ML secretly visits the FL while she's sick and observes her still kind to everyone around her, and internally being angry at himself for not stepping in sooner wrt her husband? I can imagine 2 full episodes to be just about this. BUT, yeah, I think its a PR stunt at the end of the day.

Review Kill Bok Soon
Omg, exactly. I agree with everything. I can admit it's completely flawed, but I still enjoyed every single minute…
Fingers crossed there's a Vol 2.! With the way Netflix is slashing budgets and cancelling shows, I really hope there is someone in the team fighting to bring us more Kill Bok Soon!

And yes! Exactly. I think most of the reviews were, somewhat understandably, taken aback when they saw just how much of the movie revolved around the mother-daughter relationship and, for that matter, every relationship Gil Bok Soon had with anyone. One of the top reviews criticised its action choreography and called the focus on relationships annoying, but this movie was never advertised to have stunning visuals (though I'd argue that scene with Bok Soon running all possible endings of her fight with her boss was very interesting visually) or to NOT be a movie about a mother and daughter primarily! The synopsis clearly says what it revolves around and spells out the entire plot from the get-go.

I'm a simple girl. I see Esom on the cast list, I click. I have never, neveerrr, regretted an Esom watch. Weirded out? Confused? Intrigued? Yes. Never horrified. Stay crazy, old girl.

I think its nothing big I mean if you have seen there's that past story where Seri was left alone at beach by…
Idk if it would derail at all...like, Se Ri could literally tell her little tale and then be like "I dont care about that woman, shes not my real mother, but my real mother hates me". Its been done in dramas before and I mean, not ALL characters even in dramaland go in search of their parents. And your point about it being a traumatic to Se Ri is bang on, even though her step mother treated her horribly, she still loves her and is hurt by her actions. Why? Because of her original mother. But WHAT happened to her original mother? Did she abandon Se Ri and that made Se Ri want to cling on to any mother figure in her life, even if it isnt reciprocated? This would have enriched the plotline between Se Ri and her mother (and explained why she's so attached to her mom) SO much but the writer just became lazy or the final edit cut it out, I'm sorry.

that's my issue- its all guess work! For a show that is so long with sometimes little happening plot wise, they really could've spared 2-3 mins to explain...

not my point- they make such a big deal about it but we get nary an explanation. I mean, it could even be something stupid like Jung Hyuk asking why is your mom so rude to you and Se Ri giving backstory. I dont really care if she goes after her bio mom or not, because its not imp. The story tho is a random loose thread that is just annoying. And its not like the show had side plots/scenes for 2 mins that were ultimately irrelevant for the story (no matter how funny and cute they are, like Soo Hyun's cameo from Secretly Greatly). Its a total runtime of 1.5 hours, they can squeeze in 2 minutes :/

The actually only have been dating for a little over three months if your reading the webtoon. I know it seems…
yeah, they were solid friends for over 2 years- there was real growth to that relationship! It wasn't just that Ju Gyeong was sad that Suho left and took second best

Title True Beauty
I'm definitely in the minority here when I say that I actually LOVE the webtoon hahaha! I definitely understand the criticism, but for me personally, I feel like the 'True Beauty' part was NOT ever going to be only about her discovering herself while wearing make up and going on an empowering journey , I always saw it as a story of complex people with complex problems who are outwardly beautiful but have their own demons behind them. Superficially, everything seems to be going great for them, but in reality, its the total opposite. I don't want to spoil anything for people who haven't read the webtoon, but the story is definitely not a self discovery drama centered on Ju Gyeong. It's so so so much more than that!

Plus, its def not going to appear in the drama (kinda sad actually because I would've loved to see it), but in the webtoon Ju Gyeong and Seo Jun date quite seriously and extensively (ie, not half-assed or with her secretly pining for Suho- they are very committed to each other) for a long time, which I (in retrospect) LOVE. Yes, capital. Why? It's because it gives the second love line SO much closure to the fans and the MCs and removes the "what ifs". Ever been like "Ugh, it would have been so much better for MC if she had ended up with the SML instead of the FML", well, here you actually DO see it and its great, but problems crop up and perhaps you wonder if just loving each other isn't enough. EVERYONE gets to move on because the FL and the SML did get together but it didnt work out.

A lot of people wish the drama would be different than the webtoon, I wish the opposite- the webtoon spent time and gave space to these characters to grow and become multi dimensional. It was a high school drama, but with very adult problems. I'm so glad they made Soo Jin a main character, she's such an interesting character in the webtoon, hoping she gets the complexity she deserves here!

Yes, but who is Seri's real mother? What happened to her??? Did she just disappear? Did Seri ever look for her? These are real questions the show didn't even touch and thats so disappointing because you couldve literally spent just 5 minutes explaining it (emotional music in the bg of course) and thats it, nothing else. 5 minutes out of a total episode time of 1.5 hours....

Title Crash Landing on You Spoiler
This question has been bugging me a lot since I finished the drama but I really hope someone can answer this for me- the whole drama the Se Ri's mother hates her because she's not her biological child and the drama hints and tip toes around it an INSANE amount. Its literally a major plot point. I REALLY thought the writer would clarify what the hell is the history behind Se Ri's whole birth and stuff, but even after hinting at it for so long, there is NOTHING??? this is such a big plot hole

Yeah, this is going to take foreeeever to get subbed :/ I don't think I'm that put off by the age gap tbh, I only hate it when its between young adults between the ages of 18-22 paired with people in their mid to late twenties onwards. Here, at least the actress is a fully grown woman lol, so the nearly 20 year age gap is not that weird for me. Hawick Lau does intense characters very, very well tho, so I'm excited by the casting!!!

So interesting! The plot kinda reminds me of the Taiwanese drama Jojo's World minus the whole illness thing. I wonder how similar (or different) they're gonna be considering that the both of them are romcoms, but I'm excited to find out!!!
