I'm not completely sure that the cake to the face is actually a student council tradition. There seemed to be…
I know! But then I wonder if my Western upbringing just makes me *think* they sound alike while a native Korean would have no trouble telling them apart.
Honestly that's what i'm afraid of too that Da On doesn't like TK as anything more than a friend but he has been…
If it's the post that I'm remembering, I think all I saw was someone asking what it meant to straight-wash, and I answered that. I guess I didn't read through the entire thread.
Honestly, I didn't hate this episode. It was better than the first three. Still, there's these moments that hit me right between the eyes, like a commercial photo shoot where one of the models wears a hat with the word "shit" on it, emblazoned in bold letters.
Also, the conversations between Satha and Nut needed to happen in order to advance the story but the writing is sooooo bad. I think they wanted Satha to come across as empathetic but he seemed more insensitive than insightful.
I think BL is the only genre where I'll watch a series like this as readily as I'll watch one like ITSAY. Maybe it's because Thai BL was my introduction to BL. For instance, I have much lower tolerance for most of the productions coming out of the Philippines lately ... some of which I'm sure are objectively better than this one. This episode I watched from start to finish while eating my lunch.
But, now having done that, I'll once again forget all about it until next weekend when World of BL tells me the next episode is airing, and then once again I'll be making time for it.
If it’s not already obvious to some people, it will be revealed that Lukmo and Simai aren’t actually blood…
On a whim I rewatched the start of Episode 1 and even before the opening credits begin, this fact is revealed. We just didn't know who the characters were at the time so it didn't stick.
Well, this was better than last episode. Also, COVID is better than polio.I'm starting to buy into J100s theory…
I have to admit that I literally LOL'ed at the boner joke and the paper-size banter that followed. That was some funny shit, and that scene was the most tolerable I've seen the stalker Nampu in the whole series. He looks much better with his morning wake-up hair instead of the bangs. But why is Copy so hot for him now? That feels sudden.
Lukmo/Semai's dad's sudden impulse to come clean and even accept their relationship ... are you serious? Talk about a 180! That kind of thing makes me think the writers just don't give a shit. They only want to get to the next trope, like you say.
I don't want to sound like I hate the series, though. It has an affable earnestness that I can't help but appreciate. There have been some really bad series this year and last.
Ugh. The old "I'm not gay, I'm just gay for you" .... Will it ever die.
And even without that dodge Film comes off as a bit of an ass. All the same, I look forward to whatever's next, and I hope he's weeping for Kong by the end lol.
For the first time I watched the interview everyone is talking about, and I don't get the outrage. He was clearly…
You have a keener eye for the visuals so I can't comment on those, but I agree with everything else. The scenes do tend to go on a little longer than they need to. It could do with a little tightening of the script.
When I got wind of what Mean said I got miffed but I've gotten over it. I'm going to support the series. It's clearly aspiring to bring us something special.
I enjoyed it. It's refreshing to watch a naturalistic BL series without the campy stuff.
There are echoes of ITSAY throughout. I would even venture that Mean intentionally wanted to capture that vibe. It's probably too soon to say, but maybe ITSAY will have a lasting impact by showing directors and producers that it's okay to tell a BL story without all the silly unrealistic elements.
As a story, though, this one looks like it will be predictable, but for a first-time effort by Mean I'm willing to cut him some slack. The final product feels sincere, as do his words in the BTS segment at the end of the episode.
Wtf is that ending daon has to stop leading on males and females like stop being nice to everyone and then saying…
Something tells me that Daon is connecting with Taekyung more than he has with anyone before. When they were walking together outside the school after tutoring they both looked so at ease. True friends let you relax and be yourself.
I don't think it necessarily means the two of them will fall in love, but clearly Daon is going out of his way to change his schedule and habits in order to spend time with Taekyung. Like in any good relationship, each is providing something that was missing in the other's life before.
"They say when a person changes suddenly, it's time for them to die"Really? Who says that (・・ ) ?
Maybe it's a mistranslation in the subs, but I think he's referring to how when someone decides to commit suicide, before they do it they can go from being very sad all the time to being really happy.
Why people keep asking if he will end up with da on or shin woo? Isn't quite obvious that it will be shin woo?…
True. From the first episode it was clearly an "enemies to lovers" scenario.
The relationship with Daon will keep viewers wondering. Perhaps Taekyung will actually start to like Daon at some point, but it would be boring to have such an upfront courtship carry on for several episodes and then be the endgame. There's no dramatic tension with the Taekyung-Deon pairing other than the girl who wants to disrupt their friendship.

BL, what have you done to me? ^_^

It would take me a while to build trust in such a changeable person.

This is happening right now in "At a Distance Spring Is Green".
