What struck me with Ep 4 is that both TK and DO seemed a bit out of character - DO for telling So Hee to wait for him in the Student Council room and then ditching her to go eat with TK, and TK for not reminding DO that he'd made the prior commitment to So Hee.
As annoying as So Hee might be, she shouldn't be treated with such disregard. I think that was rude by any definition.
Which makes me wonder ... do you think DO was actually getting annoyed with her constant interference and did it all on purpose to teach her a lesson?
I'm starting to think this series jumped the shark at Episode 7. For me the romance took it from "Must watch" to "Must I watch?"
If you don't agree, rewatch Episodes 1 and 2 and experience again how different they feel from just about any other drama, or from the stereotypical love story and love rivalries they're feeding us now.
A drama that wants to deal with serious issues ... yet the first 15 minutes of Episode 7 feature a ditzy girl being stereotypically discombobulated over having kissed a boy.
If you start with two main characters who have profoundly difficult issues in their lives and then decide to "enhance" the standing of a supporting character, you'd better give that supporting character something that makes her equally compelling. A plagiarized thesis paper doesn't cut it, nor does a one-sided crush on her childhood friend. We have plenty of web Kdramas that explore those burning issues, and they manage to do it in 18-minute episodes because that's all they need.
So Bin is boring. She's predictable. She's annoying. Her two roommates are more interesting as characters and at least give a sense of depth beneath the surface.
Most importantly, So Bin isn't capable of having equal standing with Yeo Joon and Soo Hyun in this series. She's a waste of screen time. A viewer like me, who came to dine on fine steak, doesn't want the chef constantly sticking a McDonalds hamburger under my nose.
But by damn, that's where this is going. I'm supposed to believe that this cardboard character is affecting Yeo Joon, and the way they'll signify it is by shoving their inexplicable "love" down my throat.
THIS is why people like me resent them downplaying the value of Yeo Joon's friendship with Soo Hyun -- they do it to make room for this uninteresting relationship where the kiss between them came off more like a girl kissing her own brother. I wanted to avert my eyes.
I hope they'll at least package their romantic scenes so that they're easy to skip and no worthwhile content is lost by doing so.
They'll have her being this way the entire time, then toward the end she'll change into somebody nice. It won't be believable but this is what happens in just about every teen K-webdrama I've watched.
I really hope Taekyung will end up with Daon. But I can see them pulling the enemies to lover trope and having…
Gosh, I fully expect him to end up with Shin Woo. I doubt that Da On is gay -- he's more likely a people pleaser who shows inordinate amounts of affection toward both girls and boys.
EP 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSU5vdMNaSA&t=918sDamn, Fuck, Yeah- Okay so, In this episode we got to explore…
It's a 10/10 for me, too.
Despite Lee So Hee. If you watch any number of these Korean web dramas you'll notice there's usually a character like her. She'll be sneaky and bitchy the whole way, until the final couple of episodes when her redemption arc will unfold and we'll be expected to forget the past and accept her as a new woman. F that!
You're right about them robbing us of the complete scene between So Hee and Tae Kyung. It would have been nice to see the rest of their verbal sparring.
One thing in its favor: Ep 2 showed that they’re not going to pretend the older guy is a teenager. Whether they actually make that an interesting element in the story has yet to be seen.

Isn't it fun not to have it all telegraphed early on with the two boys "accidentally kissing" or locking eyes?

Pok and Tong, though: yes, please.
