OK, I like this show. But:I know it's irrational, but Both & New Year annoy the f@$% out of me. I think I figured…
New Year and Both make my skin crawl. I've encountered guys like them in real life. They flatter you and make a fuss but none of it feels sincere. For any scene that features just the two of them - I skip ahead.
Can you give me spoiler about have the main problem between simai and lukmo have been resolved?
SPOILER ALERT - stop reading if you don't want a big spoiler
At the very beginning of Episode 1, where everybody is gathered around the table and the opening credits haven't started yet, Simai breaks the news to Lukmo that he's going away to live with his father. The conversation between him and Lukmo that follows makes it pretty clear that there are two dads -- one for Simai and one for Lukmo.
The only one I like is Phob, I should havr skip the rest even more , it is getting worse after the brothers drama
And now we learn that Simai can sing, too. I'm crushing pretty hard. He does the "watery eyes" thing really well, too.
How will they pull off the two most seemingly-impossible game changes: Eak developing feelings for Phob, and Lukmo and Simai getting past the brother situation? I hope they have some clever writers.
I've liked Lukmo from the start. He has such an interesting look.
I think the Simai, Lukmo storyline is so intense. The frantic pleading of Simai to get through to Lukmo is very…
You hit the nail on the head.
I'm curious to hear what you think of Episode 9? Suddenly Eak and Phob are on speaking terms again, as are Simai and Lukmo. At the same time we're robbed of seeing how those developments happen. To me those are the two most interesting couples on the show, so I would have liked to see that. For the writers to drop the ball after scripting those earlier, intense confrontations is a bit disappointing to me.
Felt like a final episode, then I see there's six(!) more left. I'm glad for that. I guess I enjoy the series more than a lot of the people here.
It would have been nice to see how Lukmo and Simai finally managed to sit together and talk. And since when are Eak and Phob on good terms again? It feels like two key turning points were left out.
I thought it was funny to learn that the guy who works in the copy store is actually named "Copy". And the idea of having a small party with the guests gathered around, and still using a PA system to address them - gurl please.
What struck me with Ep 4 is that both TK and DO seemed a bit out of character - DO for telling So Hee to wait for him in the Student Council room and then ditching her to go eat with TK, and TK for not reminding DO that he'd made the prior commitment to So Hee.
As annoying as So Hee might be, she shouldn't be treated with such disregard. I think that was rude by any definition.
Which makes me wonder ... do you think DO was actually getting annoyed with her constant interference and did it all on purpose to teach her a lesson?
I'm starting to think this series jumped the shark at Episode 7. For me the romance took it from "Must watch" to "Must I watch?"
If you don't agree, rewatch Episodes 1 and 2 and experience again how different they feel from just about any other drama, or from the stereotypical love story and love rivalries they're feeding us now.
A drama that wants to deal with serious issues ... yet the first 15 minutes of Episode 7 feature a ditzy girl being stereotypically discombobulated over having kissed a boy.
If you start with two main characters who have profoundly difficult issues in their lives and then decide to "enhance" the standing of a supporting character, you'd better give that supporting character something that makes her equally compelling. A plagiarized thesis paper doesn't cut it, nor does a one-sided crush on her childhood friend. We have plenty of web Kdramas that explore those burning issues, and they manage to do it in 18-minute episodes because that's all they need.
So Bin is boring. She's predictable. She's annoying. Her two roommates are more interesting as characters and at least give a sense of depth beneath the surface.
Most importantly, So Bin isn't capable of having equal standing with Yeo Joon and Soo Hyun in this series. She's a waste of screen time. A viewer like me, who came to dine on fine steak, doesn't want the chef constantly sticking a McDonalds hamburger under my nose.
But by damn, that's where this is going. I'm supposed to believe that this cardboard character is affecting Yeo Joon, and the way they'll signify it is by shoving their inexplicable "love" down my throat.
THIS is why people like me resent them downplaying the value of Yeo Joon's friendship with Soo Hyun -- they do it to make room for this uninteresting relationship where the kiss between them came off more like a girl kissing her own brother. I wanted to avert my eyes.
I hope they'll at least package their romantic scenes so that they're easy to skip and no worthwhile content is lost by doing so.
They'll have her being this way the entire time, then toward the end she'll change into somebody nice. It won't be believable but this is what happens in just about every teen K-webdrama I've watched.
Nicely done, though!

So I think you are right: Simai was adopted.

Isn't it fun not to have it all telegraphed early on with the two boys "accidentally kissing" or locking eyes?
