The fact that it was so low-budget doesn't negate the fact that the cast and crew worked hard to bring this to us, flaws and all, and showed courage in doing so.
Lately there have been a lot of 'quickie' web series that strike me as exploitation of BL's popularity. This one has a heart and I'm glad I've been able to see it.
***Warning: this is long and may contain minor spoilers of ep. 2***Ok so I have a few thoughts and I’m gonna…
It's interesting what you say about Nubsib seeming a bit manipulative. Early in the episode when he and his manager are still trying to talk Gene into letting Nubsib move in, Nubsib and his manager exchange a look that gave me the impression that they were co-conspirators. I just wonder what the angle was.
I mean, why would they be afraid to have Nubsib stay in a hotel when on that very same day he has no problem going to the grocery store with Gene?
That final scene ... and in Episode 2 already ... was written and directed so well!
What a clever way to show the impact of that 'incident' on Gene. As someone still unwilling to deal with the effect that Nubsib is having on him, he would sublimate his feelings in precisely that way.
I'm on Team Kate. If a drama isn't appealing I move on, and this has included some celebrated series that others have loved.
Life is too short and there are so many dramas to explore. For every minute I spend feeling obligated to watch one I don't like I could be experiencing one that I do.
I know, the plot, the plot... But what Gene did during Nubsib's audition was freaking rude. I know it's not always…
I think this was meant to show that he suddenly realized that something about Nubsib attracted him and the result was a moment of gay panic. In considering the choice between 'fight or flight', Gene chose to get out of there as quickly as possible, no matter what.
In a similar vein, Nubsib realized that he was also attracted to Gene and committed his own spontaneous act by stopping him.
I was thinking giving my opinion but the comment section was turned in a war zone hahaha points for LW for shaking…
Last Wednesday after the premier this place was bloodbath. Someone even wrote a review giving the series a "2". It makes me think that some people had made up their minds ahead of time. I'm not sure why. It's a fresh concept for a series as well as being thought-provoking.
(And the sound effects didn't stand out for me. Maybe I'm too accustomed to Thai series. :)
I really reallyyyyyyyyyy liked Gene! he has the "natural Cuteness" not like " bcz I have tiny body and cute face…
Yes! He's not 'fashion model' handsome and it doesn't look like he's buff either, but he's adorable in that rare way that lets a viewer believe that they could meet someone like him in real life.

It's getting harder and harder for me to sympathize with such characters. All they do is frustrate me with their lack of common sense.
I guess some people just need their last gasp of denial.

Here is a commercial that Up ("Gene") did with First Kanaphan (of "The Shipper") when he was younger.

I like how his character here is a complete 180 from Gene haha.

He looked surprised too.
I hope the mentors will chart a corrective course in future episodes.
