The simple fact is that you are a literalist who seems to struggle with subtlety.

There are hundreds of TV shows and movies featuring a husband and wife who have a sexual relationship, where the script is filled with flirtation and innuendo but doesn't show any part of the sexual act. It doesn't mean the husband and wife aren't having sex.

I can't explain your selective blindness except maybe to think that it's because in this case it's two men, you need to see it to believe it.

In the scene in the classroom after the final exam, where Mao Chong and the rest of the class are gathered and he declares that they're all finally free, as everyone is cheering, Wu Bi's deskmate puts his hand on Wu Bi's shoulder and Wu Bi angrily pushes him away.

This made me realize that for the entire time Wu Bi was attending that high school, he didn't make friends with a single person other than Su Yu! Not even his deskmate rated a celebratory goodbye.

Wu Bi had a singular focus that never wavered.

And I think it was love at first sight -- the kind that made him shoot cupid's arrows at his beloved even as he felt angry over that initial rejection.

Aside from the melodramatic ending, the only major thing I'd change here would be to have a different arc at the beginning for when Wu Bi has his complete 180 regarding Su Yu, after realizing that Su Yu is the son of the "old man" who helped him move.

They wasted a lot of screen time with the gang of thugs, and that diverted the plot into the realm of absurdity. This included Wu Bi's superhero fight skills and Wu Bi's quip about the school apparently getting better security. Su Yu was too smart to accept that explanation.

I love "the chase", and it would have been fun to see Su Yu's confusion as Wu Bi suddenly started trying to get in his good graces. Su Yu would be suspicious as hell, and Wu Bi would have to work hard.

The breakthrough could still come when Su Yu's dad somehow sees the two of them at the school at the same time and speaks up when he recognizes Wu Bi. The rest of the story could continue "as is" from there.

Ah yes, good point.

I think the final straw was Wu Bi's comment that he'd let Su Yu have his father's company if Su Yu asked for it.

Of course, Su Yu would have to be interested in the company in the first place (unlikely). Too bad Wu Bi didn't also make that clear.

It's slippery stuff that helps with penetration in sexual intercourse. It can be useful when condoms or adult toys are used and can apply to any orifice below the waist. 😮

My initial reaction is to feel that the last two episodes were rushed, and felt somewhat like they belonged to a different series. The endless series of flashbacks got to feel like overkill. Why not give us more of the scene in the hospital?

I'd like a second season if only for the cousin to get his karmic retribution, but I can also see potential for it to be about Wu Bi regaining consciousness after a couple of years and confronting the fact that Su Yu has moved on with his life. Su Yu is resilient and rational, so he'd eventually be able to pick himself up and face his new reality.

So, as Wu Bi confronts how Su Yu's life has changed and campaigns to be part of it, we'd get "the chase" all over again -- and I love the chase!

This best explains my own opinion. The ending had to be ambiguously tragic, with wiggle room to pick things back up and continue the story if there are no penalties for cast and crew.

Based on AvenueX, though, it's my understanding that the government limits on episodes and duration are brand new, and this was produced before they were in effect.

The cousin seemed to be up to some shady dealings and was scrambling to clean things up.

Since he had everything nearly settled by the time Wu Bi arrived, I'm worried that his intention was to get Wu Bi involved so he can set up Wu Bi to take the fall if any bad stuff gets exposed. Apparently, his family might have already set up Wu Bi's mom to get blamed for the problem years ago with the suppliers.

That whole family is sketchy as hell.

That lube would be an essential part of Wu Bi's action plan.

The questions I have include:

- What will the paper discovered inside the statue reveal?

- Why was Wu Bi's cousin in lockdown mode, hinting that he could be eliminated if Wu Bi didn't help to take care of the business issues quickly and accurately?

- Will Wu Bi's cousin somehow make it look like the business issues were caused by Wu Bi? (Wu Bi's mother was also set up to take the fall for a business disaster.)

- After Wu Bi's dad said he would welcome Su Yu into the family business, the cousin and uncle expressed grave concern in the car. What actions will they take? The cousin was already freaked out by all the gifts that Wu Bi bought for Su Yu and Doudou. He thought they indicated a threat to the family's wealth.

- It seems pretty clear that the cousin picked up on the fact that Wu Bi's relationship with Su Yu is more than platonic. Will that contribute to him wanting to eliminate Su Yu?

- What was that "English" brand of lube? I guess Wu Bi bought it overseas? Maybe that's why it was travel size, so he could take it with him on the plane. 😄

The two girls gossiping as they walked behind Su Yu and Mao Chong gave the first hint of a Mao Chong-Han Bokuang side couple.

"Somebody" on the forum complained that his "best friend" was stealing his "boyfriend".

Su Yu is Han Bokuang's best friend. Would that make Mao Chong the "boyfriend" in question?

I thought Season One was trash but this one seems much better. I'm intrigued by the first two episodes.

Another tidbit:

In the scene where Duoduo, Su Yu and Wu Bi are playing with the guns, Wu Bi's is pointed at Su Yu's crotch the entire time.

Not sure what to make of that, tbh! 😄😄😄

Group project assignment for the weekend: Raise the MDL rating. It's time!

Right! It seems to show that Wu Bi didn't have his whole heart into what he was doing to punish Su Yu.

It's funny, isn't it? At the beginning there were only a few of us kicking the tires on this one. The Bromance tag put off lots of people and the "Addicted" crowd was profoundly suspicious. They might have even been downvoting its MDL rating as retaliation.

From there the appreciation has only grown. I myself was hooked from the start, partly because I'm not an "Addicted" partisan and partly because I knew Xu Bin from when he competed on "Youth With You".
