I think most people are referring to the time skips. They arent very clearly defined (i.e. labelled with something…
That's a good point. I watched those "rainy day in the empty classroom" scenes three or four times. At first I thought we were seeing a time skip to a later part of the series but eventually I came to believe it was a time skip only to the end of the first episode.
For me the script was the culprit there. After Takara acted so aloof following Amagi's confession (and didn't offer a mutual confession), Amagi decided it had been false hope and he distanced. We saw a little of that, but (for me) not enough. There should have been more of Amagi avoiding Takara to the point that Takara would seek him out to talk about it. As it is, all we saw was Amagi talking to his friends about penguins and ignoring Takara's arrival at the classroom, and then the two of them walking past one another in the hallway without any acknowledgement.
The other thing that threw me off is Takara being so emotional in those scenes, but that was also the most intriguing detail. He thinks that caring about Amagi will damage Amagi, but in spite of that, just that superficial "relationship" with Amagi was enough to trigger a deep need in him.
That's what I'm most eager to see more about in future episodes.
Rain had better not hurt little Chun as he plays his mind games with Phayu. I volunteer to console Chun with hugs and kisses and copious rubdowns. I'm that kind of thoughtful guy.
Now that the orchestra has finally performed their concert and the school year is ending, can we be finished with the rehearsal scenes? Please?
I'm a little confused as to when Khim warmed up to Sun. Suddenly they're chatting and flirting up a storm.
And boy, when they were kids Sun's family hotfooted it out of town in a flash. Maybe his dad owed money to the mob.
I suppose Khim will make the final connection to who Sun is when he finds the red Cinderella sneaker in Sun's closet.
I think I need to go to film school so I can understand all the comments about the editing. This site has a lot of experts on editing and I'm feeling left behind.
LOL ... I'm like the rest of you. I was watching Episode 3 and thinking "Well, this is moving fast" ... and now that I've landed here I see the possible reason why.
Q's mother is a big disappointment. When we saw her attitude in the first episode some of us thought we were misinterpreting her comments. Not any more. And to think that in this episode she wormed her way into Q's room to urge him to "confide" in her. Thank god he didn't. My only question is why they would include this nasty element in an otherwise cute little series.
I'm up to Episode 7. This is much better than I expected.

I have to say, though, about the "stolen dance moves" incident .... even though it will turn out that Soo Bin is 100% innocent of stealing the song and choreo from Yoo Sung, until the actual reason is revealed (and it is a convoluted explanation to say the least), how could anybody in their right mind think it was a coincidence of all things? For Soo Bin to get all pouty when people assume he did something incredibly shady is also stupid. Does he have any grasp of reality? Does he not realize how such an incident looks to any person who has a rational mind?
Then there's the way he taunts Yoo Sung, which is terrible--all this while he is also realizing that Yoo Sung's housekeeper is betraying that family in an unforgivable way. I'm curious to see if he says anything to Yoo Sung about it or if he just lets it ride like every other evil that's being done for his benefit.
Soo Bin comes across as a poor little rich boy who takes his mommy issues out on someone who has nothing to do with his situation, and all because he envies the guy for being the real deal instead of a phony. To me that's the definition of an asshole. It will be interesting to see if the writers have him redeem himself realistically or if his behavior goes unacknowledged and unpunished, with the assumption (like in so many Kdramas) that a sad life story makes it okay for a character to go through an "evil" phase, as long as the character acts nice again by the final episode.
It was pleasant but I know I'll forget all about it in a couple of weeks. Too much new stuff coming out, and a lot of it will have more staying power. This was fun for Saturday viewing.
Very attractive cast. I'd enjoy seeing any of them in another series someday.
Takara the "Cool Kid" had his eyes on Amagi-Kun for awhile!
And the first time we see Takara he's so cold to the girl who confesses! Brutal!
It made me fear for Amagi as he felt himself drawn to Takara and started talking with him. I didn't want him to get snapped at in the same way. But fortunately this is not "enemies to lovers".
i actually love their rule of solving conflicts right when they argue its really healthy
That's a rule for a lot of married/committed couples: don't go to bed angry. I guess for a group of adolescent boys they needed to change it to sound less intimate.
Such a polished script and tight production that I think it would work as a stage play. If all of the action ends up taking place in that big house then I'll start to wonder if maybe this did start its life as a stage drama.
The mother is a disaster waiting to happen, with an Elektra Complex set at "11". Her nagging got to me enough that I spoke out loud to the screen, telling her to shut up already. Thank god the car finally got stuck and Wang went to get help.
I agree that there wasn't any coincidence here. It will be fun to find out what Wang knew and how he played it.
Very happy. From the start you know they worked hard to make it fun and were willing to spend some money.
For some reason I had flashes of "Cutie Pie", maybe because of the bike racing and the difference in maturity level between the two leads. (I think that the difference is cute here, don't get me wrong. In "Cutie Pie" I thought it was creepy.)
The fact that people are born as good-looking as Prapai/Fort -- maybe they saved the world in a previous life?
The garage mechanic is precious. I love his smile and his big personality, and I like that the little coda at the end was like a soft grace note to show a sweet side of both Phayu and Rain.
I am bored as hell. Things don't seem to be progressing at all. Are they NOT allowed to talk to the guy they like…
I've started to wonder if those subtitles that comment on the action are a common feature of Korean reality TV. The show "Wild Idol" did the same thing. I know I'm talking about only two shows here, so maybe these examples stick in my mind because I dislike that on-screen commentary so much.
Chang Min has a bomb personality. He seems like a funny guy judging from the persona in a few videos i have seen…
Seriously! On that YouTube channel he talks about teaching another boy "naughty things" and discusses topics like whether he'd be willing to be a bottom (no) or if he'd be capable of having sex with a woman (no). It's the opposite of how he acted during the Jenga game.
He also mentions a boyfriend, and I don't remember what he says his job is, but it definitely wasn't catering.
The videos I've watched were made a year or more ago, but how much would a personality change since then? I suspect he was coached to play a certain type of character in this show, just as someone mentioned earlier that he was probably told who to select in the roommate shuffle.
"Used to be an orphan": He got adopted by Evan. Because that's what Mafia does. Mafia is really big on adopting…
I was thinking that even after an orphan is adopted, technically they're still an orphan.
I tried to find the answer to whether the term should still be used post-adoption but all I could find are opinion pieces on opposite sides and nothing from a more official source like a dictionary.
I think Benz has finally found his niche in "12%".

This has "rewatch" written all over it. And I'm talking about tonight haha.
