The pornography plot with students is weird as hell and they are not even trying to portrait as a bad thing either. Smoking is bad, but pornography is not? Really?
Uff, this show is hard to watch. I'm sorry for those who are enjoying it, but my god, the direction is horrible. I kept having to go back to the last part of previous episodes because the scenes change so abruptly that it feels like I jumped 10 minutes ahead. Situations the characters are going through are constantly skipped β for example, they didn't show anything from the first night they spent together. And that's just one of many moments where this happens. The 7th episode made me drop the show. The breakup felt way too forced and unreasonable. Charm says she was drugged, and Pin just monologues the breakup? Hello? Is she a robot or a human? Also, no police report? No medical evaluation? Even if she has nothing to prove, those things need to be reported. Then the show keeps dragging out Pinβs refusal to listen, and at that point I was stressing myself out watching because every situation felt stupid. I don't know who is in fault here, if it's the director o wrinting. Pushing break ups to do emotional reconciliation needs to be well done (also I'm tired of this, every gl has it) otherwise it will not be enjoyable to watch.
I enjoyed this show. It was funny and easy-going. It doesn't have a huge plot, but it works well for the characters and helps move the story along. The "SA kiss" that people are crying about didn't really bother me, because I didn't see it as a problem. The character didn't have bad intentions when doing it. The two of them clearly likes each other. The one she kissed woke up before getting kissed, and she didn't dislike it afterward either. I'm a fan of fantasy fairy-tale-like romance, and this kind of thing happens a lot in those stories, obviously, those situations has a plot built around that to it have meanings. For this show, we seen Wannueng go through a lot of struggle to get scaled in something, and when Wannueng thought that she finally had made it, the guy SA'd her. Win watched Wannueng go through those problems to achieve her goal. Seeing Wannueng sleeping made Win feel the urge to protect her and secure her future and the kiss was meant to represent that feeling to protected the one that gave her the desire to love again. That's how I saw it, but people need to find problems in everything because of their moral issues with fictional stories is everything for them. Seeing people calling it R*PE was the stupidest thing I've read.
In this 6th episode the way they resolve the sasaeng plot was kinda lame, it felt rushed, it was building since the first appearence of it giving sneak peek each episode and the resolution was a couple of minutes out of nowhere "it was you" moment with the characters becoming Sherlock Holmes solving the problem. I feel like the series has to many sub plots for only 8 episodes or the writing failed to divide the time for each plot.
P.S: people need to stop being a bunch of b*** *sses about the SA thing, she was acting like that since the first episode, the only problem was the writing not giving her a correct punishment having her lingering suffering for what she did and having her to do more things to regain her heart.
They were trying to make a series lengthy episode series but they were doing with a vertical series in mind, everything feels rushed not letting you enjoy the moment or feeling the drama, the scenerios changes so abruptly that feels like i skipped an episode.
The series is too gen Z coded for me, characters acting edgy, tough and trying to slay all the time, some times it works, but it can really get cringe. The plot is not really going anywhere right now is just a drama mess of people going for each other, they are like frustrated teenager that got into adults life. I watched the third episodie hoping that things would get different from the first two episodes but i think it will be like this all the way through, i don't know.
The hard part of this show is to understand wtf is going on, when i was thinking it's going somewhere, all of sudden everything get messy and i was asking why all the time
I watched the first episode and personally liked what I saw so far. It was an introductory episode for the characters, there weren't many surprises yet, but it gave me a chance to get to know each one's personality. Regarding the acting of the actresses and actors who were in the previous series (Lucky My Love), I could see that they have improved their acting and are delivering what they should in the scenes they were in (except that blonde hair lady, that one was a little too much). You can see how well they act in the scenes that have everyday dialogues, making the scene seem natural and fun to watch. Now, as for the rest of the actors and actresses (except those in the main and support roles), they left a lot to be desired. I might even go as far as to say that they ruined the scene they were in a bit. Another thing I can point out here is the audio quality in some scenes, which was muffled and echoey. This bothered me a little, but nothing too serious. Overall, I had fun watching this first episode, the problems I found aren't so serious that they'll traumatize you for watching it, I would even overlook it for the fact that it's being made available for free on YouTube, there are paid streaming sites that deliver things that are really criminal because of how bad they are and Unlock Your Love is far from that.
