started this cos comments said it was hilarious, but outside 2/3 scenes, i don't get it, ok mostly because the…
Everyone does not have the same sense of humor. There is humor in every episode, black humor as well as slapstick and more subtle one : that's why I am eager to see what follows next, and the drama has become my lightness and smiles pill for the days. Oh the fun of watching the filter allow a bronze statue and a folklore framed painting to be "brought to life" to keep ML hoodwinked! Reminding of old Tex Avery cartoons where anything can happen! This drama has sometimes a feel of Helzapoppin absurdist movie and musical comedy of the 1940s which remains fondly on my pet "old movies" list (can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOkYlkkv-Uk) and sometimes of beloved old cartoons like Droopy (selection here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JWotX1ymGQ ) JC-T's Tang Qi has some Droopy vibes with his beaten-dog squinting 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 Playing pitiful was quite funny on the part of the "young CEO" implausibly doted on by his associates! The part when Lin Yuan and Gu Yu discuss her take on her new comic at the "overbearing CEO" dinner is both comedic and a light reflection on what makes romance novels and drama audiences tick : we can recognize ourselves in self derision and laugh at ourselves too! These two are sometimes like a deformed mirror image of the leads, sometimes shine for themselves in increasingly endearing ways but not hogging too much time, so it does not get annoying. The story is mostly comedic so I don't expect buckets of gushy love and kisses until much later, if ever. But if I needed that, I'd just watch a more conventional romance drama on the side: there are plenty of them, and I've grown a bit jaded about them, especially the "slow burn" ones like The First Frost (which thankfully has one day off a week, so I'm straying away, perhaps not to return before it ends, or ever, since there is no surprise there for me). They all repeat same formula over and over anyway, in different pretty faces disguises, like the ones lampooned in this drama.
now its ms fang needs to die lol because tang qi falling in love with ms fang again haha
How on Earth is Su Chengcheng going to untangle Tang Qi who falls in love with all her disguises? 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 I'm really having fun with the surreal situations the "three graces" and "two princes" go through. Not bored, just following the flow, sometimes raising eyebrows at the way lofty ideals are being brought down to earth, invoking "laduzi" to slip away repeatedly 🤣 Btw Su Chengcheng's face has better skin since she joined the cosmetics company : has not Tang Qi noticed yet, or is he like the goose who has a seriously restricted vision? We know he has a congenital and incurable vision defect yes, what was it already? quadri or tetra something? we get to know about all kinds of weird defects and diseases in these funny c-dramas. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 This one is my lightness and smiles pill for the day. I am not disappointed by JC-T and Li Landi, nor by their colleagues!
I had never thought you could get sleepy from TWOT and still linger on here asserting your hate for the FL + reading and commenting answers not to you, clearly marked to other MDL member and under spoilers. "Curiosity killed the cat" syndrome? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 But perhaps it is possible to feel exhausted, after so much digging to uncover what is hidden? Get a cup of coffee and move on, since you already slap the drama with a 6 together with 0 episodes watched ; BE LESS DISHONEST AND PUT IT IN YOUR DROPPED LIST if that's how you feel. Stop pretending having higher ground opinions when basically what you have is bias and hate, and nothing to contribute to information in any way.
wasn't planing on watching this one, too many things airing and upcoming, I was sacrificing this one. But I watch…
Well I'm going to dump the extra baggage in the long on-hold, to enjoy that one. Five seconds in and I was already hooked. I did need some belly tickling laughs after TWOT ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just love JC-T, Li Landi and all in team !
open end. They "walk away into the bright and shimmering future". I'd say it's a dream, like older people have after a stressful life, facing their sunset years, who cast themselves as forever young, forever happy, forever together. It glosses over the possible painful wounds, the perhaps impossible total healing. I'd say it has "sublimation" qualities, but some insist on painting it darker, which is inconsistent with the rest of the story. Since the pair strove always to save lives, why would they cowardly give up on themselves?
Stop your hate ranting please, it is really obnoxious here!Keep your trash advice where it belongs: in the bin…
No. But since you don't hate Chen Zheyuan or Liang Jie, and appreciated Lighter and Princess (it's nothing like it though), you might give TWOT a try. If you tried One and Only and fled because of the triggers of death by a thousand cuts and the princess jumping off from the wall, then be aware that TWOT is triggering too, but the end can be interpreted as open instead of definitely tragic.
I built a Companion piece in Discussions section which you can have a look at, to have an idea. No need to read that first, though, if you dislike spoilers. I tried not to reveal everything so if you just look into it for some background info, section 1, 2 and 3 are best to read first, and 6 about promotion and reception, and 8, about the music. Section 4 and 5 are about more details, so to avoid too many spoilers when you start, read only the parts about when and where the story is set.
The song "Home" is nostalgic : "Goodbye, my friend, to the laughter and pain we had/Saying goodbye to the endless nights in the rain/../Saying goodbye to the place where I call home." But not really ominous. More like wistful comparing options and letting go of the pains of past to find a more appeased home. The parents had learned to be less intrusive, but the (love)birds needed to fly from the nest. Build their own. Find My Way Back To Life was a song for the struggling times in the rat's maze of psychological pains. "In this darkness, search for a light... Ocean sadness, I'm under attack..." A Zan would not have even dreamed about using it to appease the other ptsd sufferer in Dongguo: only the title seems uplifting.
I sorta finished it. I got to ep 10 but the dynamic between ML and FL was just not enough for me to push through…
Not truly a military drama in my mind... I liked it enough, but admit it is not everybody's cup of tea. Watch what you like is certainly best, and if you did not connect with this story and characters, that can happen... :)
I'm in whenever it's out! 😍

But I don't agree. And I know I am not the only one.
And that drama start was so funny. Grrrowl!
(But it's no use arguing with that one...)

Am done with your toxic and dishonest rants: blocked you.
