Why stick to basic when you can widen the genre? I've read all the replies and I think you need to be more acceptable…
It can portray whatever issues, plot lines or other aspects it chooses to. And if I, as an audience member, find its take on those things to be amateurish and poorly-produced, I am well-within the bounds of civil discourse to say so, however I want to say so. Just as you are free to love it and say so. It's not a hard concept to grasp.
Is the show's non-focus on gender/love the reason its poster features a popular, well-known BL couple in a near-embrace?
And no, no production or its actors or directors or story are OWED respect just because the show exists. Respect must be EARNED. These people are paid professionals, not middle-school kids. Make a show, get critiqued. That's real life and if they can't take it they need to switch careers. Jesus.
Love how you said bl is also about bisexuality and then immediately went "he slept with women so he's straight."…
Take your concern and shove it. I certainly don't care about it.
It may surprise you to learn that all those other evil things people do are also evil and mean and awful. Why in the world is it OK to portray MURDER when RAPE is off-limits? Murder means people, you know, DIE. But you are "perfectly fine" with that. A RAPE victim continues to live at least. You completely missed the point. Out of all the bad behaviors people do, you've picked one of them and proclaimed it off-limits to fictional writing THAT'S what's fucked up.
Another news flash: The average audience member does not took to BLs or any other fictional narrative for their moral teacchings and examples. Why aren't you concerned that people will think murder and robbery are OK because they see it in a series? This is so self-evidently stupid that it's funny.
"Rape is ignored by law." wtf? Prove that, please.
As for the dumbest thing is your comment, do you think RAPE victims don't know what you mean when you write "r*pe?" or s*xual as*ault? I suggest you quit treating them as if they are morons. Why is it ok to write "murder?" Won't that upset the friends and families of murder victims? lol These comments are total self-parody.
I find it hilarious that you'd mock people for their word choices when they're trying to communicate in a clear…
"queer narrative" is an on-trend phrase, very academic-sounding and folks here such as yourself have used it over and over and over. When writing, it's a good idea to mix things up. How about "gay-themed story" for one? But using the word "queer," which to me and a LOT of other gay people is the equivalent of the "N-word" for Black folks, is a deliberate, political/cultural word-choice, PC and SJW in the extreme. This is why I mock it.
So now I'm a "bigoted" person. lol I am about the furthest thing from that, but don't let that stop you. I'm gay, have been my entire life, but because I believe differently than you about BLs and the amateurish nature of this show, I am a bigot. You are an idiotic person.
Of course it's found its audience among the BL. It's a BL and the BL audience is extremely young, female and eager to soak up anything featuring one of its fave BL couples. Are they doing fan service in promotional vids or trying to pretend to be straight?
Terrible terrible take on this. I think you've only seen the bare minimum of it to jump to such huge conclusions.…
This show is crap. You are not required to agree with me. It has an amateur feel and again, Gun as a straight man is a laugh riot. Thrillers should be left to big-budget productions that can do them right.
It's great that you speak for all of Thailand and that you know what the entire population is thinking about, by the way.
I said that because he cheated on his wife. I hope he doesn't do it again in the future...but habits are…
Thank you. People LOVE to judge and diss actors and entertainers by what they last read on Instagram. If he cheated, that's between him and his wife. I think he's a good actor.
What exactly is the "twist"? Can you please reply with spoiler tags?
She is dead too. That was her in the dug-up hole behind that house. Don't ask me how Kang found out about her being found, or who told him she was a ghost, or wtf? Always annoying when movie-makers leave tons of loose ends.
How did he get on the plane, just walk on? Did he not notice his lack of luggage, wallet, anything else? She certainly is sloppy about locking the house. So is the mean old bitch on the corner Satan? Why did he have to use doors at all? Why not pass through the wall? Once he knew he was a ghost, why not fly to Tasmania on your own. Very unlikely you'd OD on Lexapro, it takes a LOT of it. Yes, I know...he also took Xanax and alcohol. But not that much of any. There were pills left in both bottles and the decanter was over half full of booze. Wouldn't someone committing suicide take ALL the pills and drink ALL the booze? That "oh my god, that lock only opens from INSIDE!" moment was pretty awesome. I would have gone ahead and choked her. Makes the afterlife feel very depressing. I don't think he loved his wife anyway...otherwise he wouldn't have been so content to have her on another continent. His son is another question. It's good he croaked in a suit. They can just slide him right into the coffin.
I just wasn't that blown away by the plot twist and I didn't feel emotional when he sat and cried out on the bench before we knew he was dead. And I cry very easily at movies. So something about this really left me cold.
Great concept, poorly and sloppily executed. I like Lee Byung Hun just to look at though. Her neighbor feels like a soap opera/tv series actor to me, I don't know how to explain it. Is that how the wife always thanks people who help her out? Wow. More questions under the spoiler above.
At first I thought it was taking a very dark/realistic approach and I liked the mom so I kept watching. Then plot holes showed up and I thought we were going with magical realism. Then more plot holes, character inconsistencies and sloppy writing/details appeared and I thought OK, it's a Fairy Tale. Then I realized I was having to work too hard to like it so I dropped out about halfway. It's tiring to constantly be having to explain away problems in a script and I don't watch anything unless I'm all in. 6/10

You make so many misrepresentations of what I've written, so many distortions and included so much bullshit I never said that I'm not interested in replying. You're what I call A Dishonest Commenter. You basically rephrase and invent what you then argue against.
The biggest lie is "As much as Thai BLs show you the proverbial happy ending it isn't the truth." What drugs are you on? There are a shit-load of Thai BLs that end tragically, to the extent the BL tragic ending is a trope that people go out of their way to avoid. When I first found BLs I thought it was weird that commenters were always asking "happy or sad ending?" It didn't take long to learn why they were doing that.
Oh dear. Be prepared to defend your opinion against the storm of comments that will probably ensue, lol! I think…
How DARE you write anything you wrote above?!
I have not watched Rainbow Prince. I read the synopsis and saw that it was from the Phillippines, and that was enough for me. I also read some of the comments, which are hilariously brutal.
just because this series isn't your typical bl show doesn't mean you should shit on it however you want
Tell me something: Do you think if you LIKE a show you are somehow owed a negative comment-free zone? If you do, you need to grow up, fast. People who don't like a show are as free to comment as those who do. And maybe those who do could think about growing a thicker skin too. What difference does someone else's opinion make to you if you're enjoying the show? Do you think the comment section is supposed to be an extension of the fantasy world of the show? It's not.
