I keep reading this about "energy." I think the energy thus far fits the plot thus far exactly right. And we've only seen two episodes out of 10. We BL folks are an impatient crew.

I’ve heard that a couple of LBC actors, Mean being one of them, heavily bullied Earth for being gay. After it…
Why are you repeating things like this without googling it and providing some evidence through links? If you can't find anything then you shouldn't be repeating what is likely bullshit.

I enjoyed it. It's refreshing to watch a naturalistic BL series without the campy stuff. There are echoes of ITSAY…
I love this so far. Even in BL, the more realistic the better. I don't understand people who want to see the same plots, cliches and tropes repeated over and over, just with faces/bodies/voices changed for variety I guess. Why not just watch the same five shows over and over?

so you want a piece of media catered to straight female audience and not actual representation...... got it
lol I would feel safe in saying your taste and mine lie at 180 degrees opposite points on the drama continuum. Unrealistic, cheesy romantic dramas are exactly the ones I always drop. I do NOT understand the reason for their existence. But like I said above, I have always been drawn to sadness so this is right up my alley.

Dropping it's not for me, maybe it is only a taste , it is for those who like school dramas
Wow, really? It's a BL; of course it's a school drama. :D But it's much more than that.

Am very much liking this show. There's a melancholy undertone from the beginning that appeals to me and my depressive personality. lol There's truth to that: I have always been drawn to sadness, and from the moment Nut walked up to that bench where Phob was lying under his book listening to music, something clicked in me. I thought "oh lord, this is going to hurt..." and so far it has.

Phob and Nut have both done and said unthinking/unkind things, but that's what imperfect people do, especially when we're adolescents. I hope episode 3 brings some clarity to what the hell is going on with Phob's move to Bangkok and his disappearance from school. However, the preview for episode 3 didn't look like I'm going to be let down on that whole "sadness" thing. :(

Overall, I'm digging this very much. Good acting, good production and again, so excited to see what my handsome Mean has come up with as director.

I had NO idea when I started watching this today that Mean of LBC was the director! Wow, I was going to say mostly positive things about this anyway, but it's so great that maybe I favorite character and actor from that legendary series is directing this. I feel like I'm watching one of my nephews grow up. lol

For me, this totally has an ITSAY vibe, and that is high praise. I was thinking that at some point during the episode 1 but especially during the final scene as they walked down the train tracks chatting. I see that someone below has picked up on that vibe too! Off to watch ep 2, then will comment more.

I got on here to comment after watching ep 1 and was going to say the exact thing you did about it feeling a bit like ITSAY, which is obviously a great thing. Then I saw your comment's first line and got a rush. Cool. I'm going to watch ep 2 before I comment more.

Title Light on Me
This series is way too full of tropes and cliches - it's starting to make me actively dislike it. I can live with…
They needed you on the writing team when it would have made a difference. Too late now. I do enjoy the quietly odd nature of this series' several almost-creepy characters. I actively dislike Daon at this point. If he understands so well where his need to do-all and be-all to everybody comes from-his parents-then, wouldn't one expect to see him back off on that a bit? But no, he keeps right on being Mr. Everything to Everyone. That mechanical teeth-baring smile of his puts me off too. I'd almost think he's written as a parody of the Class President/Student Council President/Valedictorian/over-achiever type, but he doesn't feel quite extreme enough for it to be that.

Yeah, So Hee is annoying af, but I do hate her, so I guess I fell for the writers' gimmick. I AM enjoying this possibly-developing Shi Woon/So Hee thing. Shi Woon is my second fave character after TK.

On Be Loved in House: I Do Jul 22, 2021
Yeah, this show got outright stupid about three eps ago and now continues its downward slide. I hate when scripts rely on the deliberate, blind stupidity of otherwise intelligent characters to move the plot, not that this one is moving much.

It has been clear as day since Mannequin-Man walked in to the office that he is only there to make trouble, assuage his bruised ego by getting YZ back and eliminating SL as a rival for YZ's affections, yet all the effected characters as as dumb as rocks about his motives. The mains continue to purposely not communicate and allow themselves to be played by Mannequin Man. It's not even worth going in to all the ways in which this is a lame, lazy, transparently formulaic BL plot. It's a big disappointment because early on there were sparks of chemistry, humor and tenderness.

Two remaining episodes for the script to bring everyone/everything into alignment, which will happen at the speed of light and...that's all, folks. Unless they're setting this up for a second season-god forbid-in which case we'll be left hanging as to whether MM or SL gets YZ. But really...who cares?

Would YOU trust or believe anything out of the mouth of someone who left you without a word of explanation after a multi-year committed relationship, then returned unannounced seven years later and started flirting and pulling strings?

Title Light on Me
Shin Woo asserting himself in regard to TK brings waves of tender joy to my jaded BL heart.
Shin Woo patting TK awkwardly on the back made me laugh out loud. He's a good actor.
Shi Woon and So Hee...who knew?
Shi Woon's sweater is among the ugliest I have ever seen in my entire life.
Shi Woon is a delightful character.
The lame cliches and tropes (think immediately catching cold from the rain, bleeding from a bump on the head, people come running from all directions with first-aid kits, being so easily manipulated by the transparent machinations of a jealous female stock character, etc.) are taking a good deal of the charm out of this show for me, though I still like it very much. I will just never understand the BL writers' laziness and uncreatively repetitious story-telling. There are a million different ways to bring characters into contact...why do what's been done umpteen million times before? Are they afraid they'll be kicked out of the BL Consortium if they write an original script?

I would just like to say to the writer and director. NOTHING is happening! And what is happening isn’t worth…
I like watching SiQi and coffee-man make headway thanks to SiQi's adorably brave way of initiating communication about touchy subjects. I'm watching this mainly for them.

Just cut the second couple out already. This is one of those series where the second couple gets almost the same…
Couldn't disagree more. I PREFER the side couple to the mains, who are just doing the usual, cliche, trope BL stuff, running around avoiding each other, staring the other direction, looking angsty and stricken instead of just freaking talking about what's going on, especially since they both already know they're gay and aren't dealing with a coming-out crisis at the same time as falling in love. They live in the same house, for god's sake and still they don't talk. It's silly and predictable. I don't mind angst and miscommunication, but I like the writers to be creative about why things are that way. Here there is NO reason they couldn't have talked everything out and been honest with each other and yet they haven't, so it's hard for me to care.

The jewelry-intern and the coffee-man, on the other hand, have the interesting age-difference aspect, we have SiQui bravely initiating communication and being open and honest about his feelings, which inspires coffee man, who is more jaded and walled-off, to drop his defenses and do the same. I love their chemistry...so sweet and sexy at the same time. Their living room is a cozy den of sanity compared to the other two, especially now that the mannequin-face ex-BF has predictably shown up to throw a wrench into things in episodes 10/11. Yawn.

There is heavy competition, but wow, Boat just might be the most beautiful/handsome BL actor ever. Looks great with that stubble, but smooth shaven, his hair wet/slicked back...when he was gazing at Gun in the drunk scene his looks took my breath away. Goodness...

Those are two of the densest, most clueless, blindest BL girls I've ever seen...chasing after Sun and Sky as if they can't see what's dripping off of both of them every time they look at each other. lol

Pitch/Bank are way hot/shippable. I always worry though when these Thai actors go into muddy ponds or rivers...all I can think is...CROCODILES!

Thought sure mafia types would come for Sky while Sun was shit-faced and unable to do his job....

This show is trope/cliche-heavy but it's good in spite of itself in that regard. The star above all remains Gun's lips. Boat is a stunner but I'd kill to make out with Gun. :D
