Title Light on Me
Sometimes the quiet ones are the most nuclear in bed. Plus, DaOn would do whatever you want him to do, and that…
Can you get ANY quieter than Shin Woo though?

Hadn't thought about Shi Woon: I bet he would be great in the sack. It's always fun to laugh even during...you-know-what. Have to agree to disagree about Daon: I don't mind giving a few instructions, but with him it seems if you didn't keep feeding him directives he would just lay there like a 2x4, smiling that creepy 3/4 smile of his and asking if everything's "OK."

Wow. This has gotten terrible. Well...I mean, more terrible than it was before.

So bad it's not even worth making fun of.

I normally HATE love triangles but I'm loving this one! I don't even know who to root for. The normal formula…
I like "TK and Happiness!" :D Regarding, Daon, he just really puts me off but I think that's a purely personal thing with me, as many commenters seem mostly OK with him. I've simply never cared for people like him who are people-pleasers, super-nice, bordering on fake. There really ARE people in the world who are genuinely awful/mean/cruel/selfish, but it seems like he would be just as "nice" to them as to anyone else.

On the other hand, I like that this show raises an interesting issue: Is it really a BAD thing to be nice to everybody? I definitely don't agree with the evil So Hee, who believes you should only be nice to your romantic partner. wtf? And the niceness can be taken too far: Are you really going to be polite and accommodating to truly awful people? My problem with Daon isn't that he is nice to everybody, it's that his "niceness" is not authentic. I think he goes home in the evening, falls on the bed and lets out a huge sigh of relief that he doesn't have to be nice to ANYONE for eight hours or so. His niceness is a burden, another version of the walls people build around themselves as protection from emotional pain. Does being nice to everyone mean he is not capable of being especially nice to someone he loves?

For my personal tastes, there is absolute ZERO choice to be made between Shin Woo and Daon. SW=cute, sweet, adorable, warm, puppies, cuddling. Daon = room-temperature milk, artificially-sweetened lemonade cold, sloths, lying next to each other with hands folded across your own chest.

I really dislike how the girls jump into conclusions thinking Daon is gay. As if being bisexual or pansexual doesn't…
Oh Jesus. And what is the percentage of people who are bi or pansexual? I'll tell you .7% self-identify as bi and .3% self-identify as Pansexual. There are FAR more people who identify as gay than either of the other two groups, so the likelihood that Daon is gay is far greater than that he is something else. Many scientists consider the concept of Pansexuality itself to be invalid, more of a trendy fad than a true sexual identity.

We also have the fact that the girls are pretty sure Daon is cis male and he's standing on the balcony holding hands with another dude presumably cis male, so at least regarding TK, he is acting as a gay male.

Its official, So Hee, is the first bitch of Korean BL world. Thai wasn't enough, so they had to follow this trend…
YES! Someone else knows what I am always trying to properly put in words: There is something about the Korean language that when a character is slamming another, it's as though they are cutting their heart out with the dull blade of their tongue. There are vicious tones and patterns to Korean that, when used cruelly or maliciously, sound absolutely vicious and hateful. So far, we've seen nothing in this series to compete with what I've heard in Korean gay-themed movies though...Jesus, I'm still trying to get used to it. It shakes me up.

NEW TOP-TEN NOMINEE FOR BEST BL DIALOGUE EXCHANGE OF ALL TIME:

"You liked it when I poked you in the butt?"
"Stop talking about my butt!"

Oh dear, sweet Shin Woo, I think we should talk about your butt as often as possible...

FlukeOhm episode was lame, lame, rushed, rushed and...lame. If you can't tell the story you want to tell in 20 minutes then either re-write it or don't do it at all. This is like some chopped-off, half-ass, fan-service hack job.

Just saw the BL view rankings on world-of-bl for the last seven days and this great show is in 10th place with all kinds of garbage ranked above it. Only 35,000 people watched this last episode? wtf? Sometimes I can only laugh at how out of the mainstream my BL preferences are.

I only watched the InSun cut of this series, which got an 8.5/10 from me. Their scenes of Sun's love for In and In's love/fear for Sun were incredibly real and relatable to me. So much heartbreak. BUT their scene on the mall bench working out the terms of their new "dating" status was as funny as it was touching...these two, like everyone says, deserve their own series. But it's probably getting late...they're growing up, after all.

Just went back and watched this for a second time after a year or more. The first time was during my first frenzy of BL-watching after discovering the genre for the first time. It was if the sun had risen for the first time in the sky. lol

I had forgotten that to me, there is almost NO story here whatsoever. Vee and Mark meet while Mark's shit-faced and thinks Vee is his ex and demands to be sexually serviced, Vee fights him off for a bit but then decides to go ahead and bang him cause, why not? Then next morning they wake, we discover Vee has a GF, he tells Mark to zip it about the one-night stand. Vee and Mark spend a couple of hours together here and there, Vee's GF cheats on him, they break-up and Vee decides to go gay for Mark. Then Mark sees Vee and his gross ex-GF doing a lame Mannequin Kiss at the bar, stomps off and dumps Vee. Sadness. Angst. Longing. Then Vee and Mark get back together. THE END. That's all there is.

War and Yin are extremely appealing, understated actors and I enjoyed just watching them on screen, but this might be the lamest BL, plot-wise, EVER. I kept kind of waiting for something, anything interesting to happen and then it was the end of the show. lol The supporting cast was amusing and cute, but really, this was nothing. There are far worse BLs, but I think this is the most plot-less one.

I thought it was good too...the ending is ripe with possibilities. And the way Mew reached out with the text photo…
You're a real piece of work:

"But I’m just responding to the actual show, not a made up version of a made up future. Ps: don’t get your panties so twisted."

Worry about your OWN anger issues, sister. "Attack..." Oh you poor delicate flower.

Try scrolling up to your first nasty comment to me about my "fantasies" and how you alone know what happens next in a show with an open ending. THEN lecture me again about having one's panties in a twist.

To me, that boy is crying with joy that his crush has just returned the feeling and who knows what will happen next! If there was no hope, why would Dew have sent that text at all? What's the point? It's borderline hilarious that you and you alone, know what the writer believes and intends. Your fantasy is no better than anyone else's. Christ.

High horse much?

YOU are the one with that perspective, not necessarily the writer. You have a sadly, horribly tragic view of gay life and possibilities and I'm kind of sad for you, but you don't get to impose YOUR fantasies of disaster and heartbreak and ugliness onto what I imagine happening after this wide-open ending. You are free to live in that miserable world, but I'm not going to do so. If you need to believe that makes me naive, well, it's good that I don't care what you believe.

ANYTHING we imagine happening after the credits role is purely in our imaginations, there's no one right way to interpret that ending of this and announce what happens next. To me, Dew's text/photo at the end is the powerful driver to all that happens next. At that point they have actually, in the real world, CONFESSED to each other. Anything can happen, and yes, Dew could tell his parents to fuck off.

"I'm assuming that they'll end up with other people and will never get together, because that's how life works." Goodness. That may be how life works in your view, not in mine. Life doesn't work in only ONE way for all people. It's weird that I'm even making this obvious point so I'll not write more.

We fundamentally disagree on this. I'm cool with that.

I understand this makes me a bad person, but am I the only viewer who laughed (twice now!) when we saw Din's mother, in his memory, get hit and run killed by a car? In so doing she became the 357th BL mother, student, friend or lover to exit the world in such a manner, and the evil laughter just burst out of me spontaneously at the blatant tropish-ness of it. It was also funny how this time, Din just kind of stood still and looked on with curiosity as a truck mowed his mother down, some asshole got out, looked at the body and chuckled evilly, then got back in and drove off. They left and he was still standing there, going "hmmm...wtf?" Worst son ever.

I'm downrating it for the ending. I can turn your sentence around and say just because something is emotional…
Wow. Really. Earth's "masterful" acting in 1,000 Stars? To me, and I repeat, TO ME, only my opinion, Earth was as wooden in that role as he is in every other. He is always the same character, with a new name and a different set of circumstances. Handsome and regal to look at, but certainly no great actor. Perhaps he finally found a role where a lack of acting skills matched the character's lack of affect. He is BL's John Wayne.

I totally agree that being able to cry on cue does not automatically make one a great actor, but I totally disagree that crying on cue, particularly in a manner that looks and feels spontaneous and real, is "easy." If that were true, we wouldn't have to endure the agony of watching most BL actors scrunch up their faces and make crying noises while their eyes remain dry. Which was Mix's approach to crying in 1,000 Stars, IN MY OPINION.

I agree all the acting here was good. Meanwhile, 1,000 Stars may not have included an evil woman trying to separate the lovers but it had pretty much every other trope and cliche, beginning with wound-tending and sponge baths, passing out right before what would have been a kiss, drunkenness as a plot device and on and on.

Thanks for this comment. Each of us is free, given the open-ended conclusion, to imagine what happens next. Some commenters seem to feel they have the inside track on what "really" happens after the end of this series. lol
