Bugs me that we still never saw Sine let go and wrap his arms around Tan. Even at the end he was holding back. I liked this a lot until Ep. 3 and then it was like the more they opened it up and the more characters that came in, and the more Sine became a dick-wad, I struggled to stick with liking it. I'm sorry but Sine's weird and unfounded rejection of Tan, who he obviously loved, just never made any sense. Tan told him flat out that he loved him and wanted him to be his love and we get Sine moping around like there's something to be figured out. The entire "calculating" thing, as Sine's mom, clearly and finally said for all of us, was a bunch of hooey. The rejection was for dramatic tension of course, but was based on nothing in the story.
I did like the MC's vibe/chemistry/physical off-set of each other. I don't know...I wish I could rank this higher, but I give it a 6/10. Someone needs to write another script for this couple in which Sine isn't a stubborn, senseless little bitch. Tan is a stud. So appealing and at ease for the most part with his feelings toward Sine. The girl character was all over the map too, saying one thing in one scene and flat contradicting herself in the next.
I liked the series best in the early eps when it was basically Sine and Tan laying around in the grass and flirting and bullshitting. It was sweet and intimate, like a parlor play.
Ep 5 was that weird BL thing where the halves of the MC say "I love you!" and "I love you too!" And then one of them says "yes! this is why we can never be together and must break up!" And everyone goes off to picturesque locales in Bangkok to sigh and lean on the railing of a bridge.
I find this little series charming, even if it does appear to have been filmed after a zombie apocalypse wiped out 99.9% of Bangkok and the remaining seven college-age students go to this university.
I love Tan's unconventional good looks/strong features a nice change from Pretty-Boy City where most BLs are filmed, and he is one of those people blessed with loads of natural charisma. Sine is beautiful of course; he looks like Onew of SHINee's younger brother.
Obviously filmed on a shoe-string, but it doesn't bother me; I'd rather enjoy a well-acted, sincere show with a good heart that is scraping by on hilariously obvious product placements than the beautifully-produced but soul-less BLs there are so many of.
What is it he doesn't deserve? It's not just "gossip," its the TRUTH. Daon DOES have feelings for TK, it's not…
Yes, BUT the reality is that he DOES have to deal with others being nosy; he has no choice. It has already happened. The question is how does he handle it and what does he DO now? He has made the choice to ditch the meaningful bracelet TK gave him and to deny the truth of their evolving relationship.
It would be lovely, and rainbows and unicorns would surround us everywhere we went, and pigs would fly if there weren't homophobes and busy-bodies in the world. But there ARE, there always has been and there always will be. That is simply the reality of life. How we handles the unpleasantness makes all the difference in the world.
BTW, don't presume to lecture others about the difficulty of coming out of the closet. I did it myself and it was extremely difficult and traumatic. However, unlike Daon, I did not run screaming back INTO the closet while lying my pants off. I "should" have been able to come out how and when I wanted to, right? Well, welcome to the real world, baby.
This poor thing is so bad in so many ways that there's really no use in detailing them here, because who cares? There isn't really a story going on, or at least one that I care anything about. There are random scenes of students being coy and bitchy and pretending to study or whatever, and then we're on to the next; none of it connects. Oh my god, the guy who plays Nut is a disaster. He must be the producer or director's boy-toy or nephew or something. Terrible actor, no charisma, has about four different facial expressions and a weird body to top it all off. The scene where Satha was teaching him basketball was embarrassingly bad. Like I wanted to die rather than watch the actor humiliate himself further. But I didn't and so he did. I've completely forgotten why, if there IS a reason, Nut is such a bitch to Satha, and I don't care. That annoying straight girl side character looked like she had a four sizes too big blazer over her grandma's old bra and panties. I love it when Asian guys pull up their hair into goofy little ponytails on their heads to play sports or something. So freaking cute. Is this really a thing? What else...? I don't mind the guy playing Satha; he's grown on me. I see zero reasons why Satha would be interested in the sour-faced, pouty, red-eyed, old Uncle Nut.
I love Gun, but I wish the director would have worked with him a little more. He spent this episode shouting most…
Oh god, I think it was absolutely supposed to be funny. You didn't find Techno's facial expressions hilarious? Or the fact that he had a boner the whole time the guy was talking to him? Or the fact that he later asked himself "why did it feel so good...?" lol Maybe funniest BL scene ever.
Bas is being self-centered? Are you kidding me? My gosh, the level of emotional intelligence present in that single…
Are you not able to read? That's exactly what I said. Post whatever you want. But you already know that...you just couldn't think of anything else to say. You'd have been better off saying nothing.
It could be because you don’t like rock? Because I, a j-rock fan, like the melody so far (and it’s funny to…
Totally agree. That's why I mentioned that I just don't care for most "rock" music, although that's a huge, broad category and there certainly have been rock songs I liked. Would you say this style is a little bit toward "hard" rock or "alt" rock? Either way, yeah, I always long for a melody and I don't hear it here.
I like Gun but his acting needs improvement, especially on emotional scenes. I was straight out laughing at his…
I love Gun AND Sky, but I can't disagree with you here and said as much up above. Too much yelling this episode, and he uses that sneer/pout way too much. But I love that he got this starring role. He'll get better. Plus, he has the best lips in BL and his side-smile slays me. His tantrum on the purple couch this episode was hysterically funny, especially when Sun walked in and he immediately did a split-second recovery. lol
definitely not the best thing I’ve ever watched, but it’s surprisingly entertaining. it’s also great to…
I love Gun, but I wish the director would have worked with him a little more. He spent this episode shouting most of his lines when some variation would have been effective. And he wore that sneer/pout (which I love) almost the entire episode as well. But I have loved him since LBC. I thought his acting in that show was great, given the character. And the scene in bed the morning after he had drunk sex with his stalker, and then the stalker was telling him how Techno had taken advantage of him and had to "take responsibility" is one of the all-time funniest BL scenes ever. I thought Gun's eyes were going to pop out of his head and fly across the room, and at the same time he looked horrified. Then the stalker reaches down and through it all Techno has a boner...omg, hilarious.
I'm really happy he got the starring role in this series.
Random thoughts after episode 6: This is the standard, deliberately stupid, non-communication/mis-communication/I'm not good enough for you episode of most BL series, correct? Is it just me or when did Bank get ten times cuter/handsome than I thought he was before? Boat has the best arms in BL: beautifully toned but not overdone. Why wasn't he shirtless this episode? Not at all sure why Sky is putting this insane pressure on Sun to confess, when he could just as easily tell Sun that he loves him, he knows it's reciprocated, so let's do it. I love Pitch. He has the most beautiful smile and personality. I'm terrified Bank is going to have a motorcycle accident now. Bank and Pitch are top-ten side-couple material. Love them. Glad to see we got the obligatory scrape/cut/head bump/whatever followed by a rush to the infirmary for "medicines." I love Gun ever since LBC, but the director really needs to dial him a back a notch or two at times. He shouts a lot when an intense whisper might be more effective. Plus, that sneer/pout he spent most of the episode wearing is getting old. Sky's tantrum on the purple sofa (which is awesome, by the way) followed by his split-second recovery when Sun walked in, was hilarious. The near-confession scene on the raft was visually gorgeous, despite the outcome. When they kissed I actually gasped. Sky has more self-control than I: after Sun refused to confess on the raft and pissed me off so bad, I would have totally dived into the water and swam to shore. Of course, there's those Thai crocodiles to think about... Sky's dad is hot. Love his terribly fake but humorous, evil laugh on the phone to the other mafia dude. Has anyone EVER been cuter than Bank with his motorcycle helmet on with the visor up? I think that one girl's friend cut her hair one night when they were both drunk, while wearing a blindfold and using a dull paper scissors. Clueless straight girls at the camp: "Hmmm...why are all the gay boys pouty and bitchy this morning?"
Despite all its flaws, I think this show has improved with each episode. The trailer for next week totally stressed me out.
Bas is being self-centered? Are you kidding me? My gosh, the level of emotional intelligence present in that single…
No, YOU think it was offensive, vile and cruel, and that's your opinion. And you having an opinion doesn't make it a fact. Can you grasp that? It's not enough for you to be able to openly refute comments you disagree with, you want other people's freedom of speech and expression shut down and removed. Listen, if OP's comment that got you so panty-twisted is so obviously offensive, vile and cruel, then it should be easy for you to demonstrate to others, using YOUR freedom of speech and expression in opposing comments, that that is the case. But oh no...you want people SILENCED. I have zero respect for people whose views are so weak, and their ability to express and defend them so insufficient, that they must demand those who disagree be shut down.
Yes, people SHOULD have to read comments and views and opinions that may upset or offend or twist their panties; that is called the marketplace of ideas and only totalitarian countries and people like you who THINK like the governments of totalitarian countries, feel the need to silence others. Don't know where you live, but it sounds like CHINA would be a good choice for you. They're the ones who shut down the epic BL series ADDICTED because its existence promotes, in their view, ideas that are "offensive, vile and cruel." Bejing doesn't like HOMOS so they pretend they don't exist, just like you want to pretend views you don't like don't exist.
Guess what? There are MILLIONS of comments, speeches, statements, conversations, articles, podcasts, brochures, etc. made every single day that express ideas I find abhorrent. You will NEVER find me trying to shut down the people who make those things because I believe that in the marketplace of ideas, overall and over time, better wins out over worse.
I 'm gay. I see, read and hear homopobic crap almost every day. Is it supposed to "trigger" me to...have some bad feelings? Yeah, sometimes it does. So what? I'll live and I'll fight back in the marketplace. If you are so hyper-sensitive (and given your stand on this, it's hilarious, and doesn't make any sense, that you accuse ME of being overly sensitive) that you can't exist in the real world where not everything that is said is to your liking, then stay indoors, don't read, watch TV, get on the Internet or listen to the radio. You'll have a great life...nice and comfortable and bored to tears.
