yes he plans to go to france for some time while sangwoo will be in korea to establish himself more in korea first
Sounded to me like he was going to France, but only for a short period of meetings after which he's coming back to Korea. I am highly fearful there will be a plane crash.
I think the number of episodes were just perfect.👌 Had it gone further than the 8, they would have ruined it.…
Honestly, I think it could have been twice as long. There is plenty of material here. BUT if it has to be one or the other it is always better it be too SHORT than too LONG. Always leave them wanting more! :D
I just want to give a shout out to reviewer Pinoy Ares for the succinct article above, including these epic words:
"However, despite the unassuming, overused plot, lies an entertaining, panty-dropping, 3 drops of pee and butterfly-in-the-stomach inducing execution that no matter how predictable the show is, you just cant help but long for the next episode. Actually, this may even be the most excited i felt for a Korean BL."
Bravo, Pinoy, to you and SE, for a great show! 9/10 from me.
I so loved getting to enjoy a happy ending, though I wasn't so sure when the usual BL roadblocks, like school/work opportunities "abroad" and inexplicable lack of communication, showed up to piss me off again. So fucking un-original! I don't care if it IS in the orignal manga or whatever, change it! It's been done a million times!
These two actors, and their iron-clad grip on their respective characters, as our refreshingly potty-mouth reviewer said above, are the solid, crystal core of this BL. And they and the director finished it out in beautiful fashion, with that last-minute confession scene and the after-credits coda. Both had me blubbering like an idiot. I have no higher compliment to pay a BL than to admit it made me cry with those strangest of human things: tears of happiness. :) Fun to see a hint of our little guy being sexually aggressive too. And that last kiss, with JY coming down for the tender smooch, ever so slowly, while SW waited with those two amazingly pouty lips vibrating and his eyes closed, only to have JY pull a fake and go in for the forehead kiss, only to have SW call "foul" and demand the real thing. I'm pathetic. I love it.
9/10
So glad this SE has been around to distract me from the abomination that You're My Sky has become. Gag.
Oh, and the time skips, especially after last ep's crucial swimming pool/sister final scene, are such a cop-out. Why do shows like this so often throw away the opportunity for a juicy, dramatic and ultimately decisive scene like we could have had at the poolside? Too lazy to take on the challenge of writing a script that will do it justice and directing the same? Don't think your actors are up to it? I don't know, but a lot of highly gripping and entertaining drama is tossed away with time-skips in BL-World.
Spare me. This is terrible. I've never seen a BL so entirely built around the wrong two characters and actors like this one. Not being a person who enjoys cringing, I FF thru all the FahTorn scenes, which means I skip through most of the show. They have zero chemistry, their interactions are boring, the BB scenes are sadly unconvincing, Fah is hard to look at, etc. I find nothing about them worth my time. So that means I'm left with the bits and pieces scenes involving the two couples with all the mojo. I hope GMMOne has started work on a sequel focusing on those two couples, as that's the only way to salvage something worthwhile out of this.
As for the two side-couples, unfortunately, the self-sabotage we see in ep. 10 is so predictable as to be laughable. But I didn't laugh because I care about these four; I just sighed. MOST BL couples make the choice that will make them the most unhappy so naturally that is what is happening now. As soon as one comes around to seeing what is good for them both romantically AND professionally, the other flips gears and takes the opposite tack to what he was wanting before. Once a couple is free and able to be who they are to each other in the open, one decides living in guilt and shame about something they didn't even do makes more sense.
Yes, I understand a period of waiting would be the decent and kind thing for VeeDome to do, but that's not what we're talking about here. The sister will be standing around staring daggers at both of them regardless, so it's either be brave and go forward after a period of time to allow her to adjust, or capitulate to misery and go forward into a future where everyone will be unhappy. Saddest thing is, she'll get over it at some point but by then it will be too late for them.
It's just all so BL-predictable. Many of these shows have homophobia and a desire for gay couples to be miserable baked into their core and that's hard to overcome, if you even try. Which is why I look to BLs less and less for a quality gay viewing experience and focus much more these days on Asian gay cinema where there are a plethora of high-quality flicks that don't repeat the same sad, negative messages over and over.
Oh piss off. No one wants to read your Mary Sunshine review of a classic Yaoi-style story that you loved all the…
Oh what determined and self-righteous arrogance! What admirable and courageous stupidity! Look at you, mighty warrior of his local Social Justic league, refusing to back off his holier-than-thou, I-know-what's-best-for-you-better-than-you-do, censorious, panty-sniffing stance, determined to save morality for the world by putting those of us who disagree in mental hospitals and "re-educating" us to fit his prudish and puritannical ideals regarding sex. You'd fit right in with the enforcement wing of the Chinese government's "Decency Laws" department. You could probably make lots of mone there. GO.
First this warrior attacks with vehemence and insults, then cries when he gets the same back in return, then when called on that, says "oh I won't change what I said in a way I demanded you retract..." What a stupid tool.
Yes, you ARE a hypocritical liar, I'm not just calling you that, that is what you are. It's good you admit it. Finally, if you think it's so stupid that I commented on a comment left over a year ago, what does it say about you that you've been here ranting in reply to that comment which you apparently regard as beyond the pale? It says, once again, that you are a hypocritical liar, and dumb as a stump to boot.
I have to say, I really, really hate the ending. It was so nice seeing these characters grow and develop. Why…
I totally feel you about the last episode. First time I watched it I ugly-sobbed the entire time. I have no desire for every show to have a happy ending. The problem is these gays-can-never-be-happy endings that come out of nowhere and have no relation whatsoever to the entire series to that point. They just kill off a lead to devastate the audience randomly. Seriously, when I first found BLs and Asian gay cinema I was in shock at how many of them have tragic, random endings like this. I sobbed more in the first few weeks of watching these shows and movies than in all the movies I'd seen before out of Hollywood, I think. It is the cruel, intentional infliction of emotion violence upon the audience, as you said, that pisses me off. To me, the very worst is the ending to one of my favorite BLs, "Grey Rainbow." The tragic ending is insanely sadistic and out of left field. My solution: the second time I watched it I simply stopped the video at a specific time-point in the last episode before the plot went psycho-sadistic. My stopping point actually feels like a definite ending without the bullshit that follows it.
i watched just to watch a KDW work. I couldn't related to the casting for the female lead. I couldn't…
Don't know if you'll ever see this comment five years on, but I just left a comment above stating the exact same thing about the mis-casting of the female lead. No reason on earth those two hot, popular, bad-ass guys would fall for her instantly. She is goofy and funny but NOT the least bit sexy or hot girlfriend material. There is nothing about her that explains the male leads' adoration of her.
I'm a bit over a third of the way into this flick and I can't say that I'm really into it. Taking a break, may watch the rest tomorrow, maybe not. The girl is cute in a goofy way and funny and sweet, but I am not buying her for a second as someone these two handsome, popular, energetic guys would fall for instantly. No...doesn't work for me. She is too plain and she always has that pouty-lipped look of surprise or amazement on her face that is very annoying. Frankly, she often appears to be intellectually challenged. It doesn't help that her hair is chopped so short in front so she has those weird bangs. She's not the least bit sexy either and to me the role calls for that.
I kind of like the actor Kang Dong Won, but I've seen a number of his films now and to me he is always pretty much the same character. I have enjoyed about half those films and been meh about the other half. I don't really get why he is so popular. I don't see him as a super-talented actor at all. Like I said, he has one character, which is probably himself.
he didn’t put two and two together and come up with reincarnation lol (that would be lunacy i agree ðŸ˜). the…
What is it, exactly, that I am projecting? I don't think you even know what that means. And I'm sorry...I wasn't aware that everyone here on MDL except me are close friends who know each other intimately and therefore are allowed to exchange comments. Naturally, you answered none of my questions.

Hey, tangent-face, you've written a few of those yourself. Since SJWs are a thing and you are one of them, it's not surprising that got your back up. Touch another nerve? I agree that SJWs have been around WAY too long, but just like prudes, blue-noses and panty-sniffers, they/you will always be with us. I always find it hilarious that SJWs won't write the words RAPE or SEXUAL ASSAULT without substituting symbols for letters to, you know, spare all the delicate souls out there who will be "triggered" by seeing the whole word. How stupid do you think people are? "R*pe is the same thing as "rape," everyone knows the word you're indicating so what exactly is the point of that? The point is display YOUR self-righteousness and SJW cred, not to avoid freaking someone out. You are endlessly condescending and superior, common SJW traits.

A show does not have to go to an R rating just to indicate that sex took place. There are a thousand ways to do that without showing anything explicit at all.
I entirely disagree that this is the equivalent of "gay for you and no one else." The guy is only in this position because he discovered the soul of a woman he loved for 300 years is in a man's body. It is not the same as the old BL trope where boys meet in college and are attracted and gay panic occurs. It is far more interesting than that.
I don't care about the other comments; I know what they will say. I think you and others are LOOKING for homophobic motivations where there are none. And I'm sorry, but I hate the word "problematic" along with all the other SJW terms that are annoyingly condescending. "Problematic" to YOU does not equal problematic to everyone.
Sexuality IS fluid. I know it for a fact from my own personal experience. I don't need people with political/social justice agendas to tell me it is "problematic." It was no problem for me at all. SJWs shouldn't even be watching BLs. They are usually based on yaoi and mangas that are extremely sexual and graphic, featuring forced sex and all kinds of other juicy plot lines that make the world go round. The BL world, that is. So why are you watching this stuff, other than to wallow in outrage? Just turn it off.
I give this flick cred for the epically twisted scene near the end, but I knew from the very early scene involving…
In the penultimate scene, how would the father not know, just from that easily identifiable twisting of the neck and shoulder that he had been seeing for weeks, that the dude who came into his cubicle for sex was his son?
When he started to jack him off, how would the father not know, from the sound of the boy's voice in his moaning and gasping, that it was his son? After the kid came and they were cleaning up and he held the boy in his arms I considered the possibility that the dad DID know and didn't care or something, which would have been even MORE delightfully disturbing. But the asshole slapping the kid when he saw it was him made it clear that was not the case. What a douche bag. It's the kid's fault you're in a gay sex-club and you accidentally gave him a hand job? I was actually hoping the sex would go to the fullest degree, if you get my drift, so that the reveal would be even more traumatic.
Anyway...I have no idea what this movie was trying to say if it was trying to say anything, or if it is just one of those confusing, dull and annoying movies made with the excuse that it is "art-house" bullshit.
I give this flick cred for the epically twisted scene near the end, but I knew from the very early scene involving the father in an identical setting what was coming. Almost everything in between was just boring as hell, even though I am the type that can hang in there with a slow-paced movie if it is giving me something in return. I took to skipping ahead, hoping for something...meaningful or entertaining or exciting. I skipped a LOT.

That's a real stretch...Yeonseok would have to overcome his STRAIGHT sexuality and go gay for true love. How is that demeaning to gay people? It is the opposite of demeaning. It supports the idea of sexuality as fluid, which it can be and suggests gay love and sex are not a disgusting thing. Except that this show is simply ignoring the sex part. The MC spent the night together but there was no indication one way or the other regarding whether or not they'd been intimate, though it didn't feel as if that was the case.
In other words the film says "ppl don't need to be STRAIGHT, they just haven't met the right man yet." It is entirely pro-gay.
