I don't actually blame the FL for struggling to trust the ML. Almost everyone around her has deceived her, so her guard is naturally high. She truly loves him, but she's not at the point where she can give him her full trust. And each time she tries, something always happens that shakes that trust again.
On the other hand, I also understand why the ML isn't fully honest with her. He's trying to protect her, because knowing the whole truth would break her completely.
All that said, the ML is still a serious Simp - with a capital L!

You people are shouting 'lazy writing' but we all know the real issue. You're simply disappointed because you don't see any kissing, so your spirits refuse to enjoy the plot. The man is just respecting his marriage please. Your ratings are suffering because your eyes didn't receive romance vitamins. Y'all simply want Shakespeare-level romance, but the male lead said: "I shalt not stain my lips with another woman."šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Are u talking about ep 39? If yes, the bigger question to me is how ZCJ allowed this to happen when she knows…
There’s no denying she made many mistakes, but I honestly feel she’s been misunderstood. She was pampered as a child by the Master, but as she grew older, she always felt resented by her fellow disciples. Even when she achieved something, nobody bothered to acknowledge her. All she ever wanted was to be recognised for something — and that’s a natural human desire.

So when the chance came for her to take on the role of a princess, even though it was fake, it became her only real opportunity to finally feel seen and appreciated. She wasn’t even chasing ā€œrespectā€ in the strict sense — you can tell she doesn’t always carry herself with that princess attitude. What she really wanted was a sense of belonging and value.

Now that the evil lady has killed her Master and she’s forced to stay silent so her fake identity won’t be exposed, I’m starting to think… maybe she’s not doing it for selfish reasons. Deceiving an emperor is a crime punishable by death — and the punishment often extends to innocent people as well. So have you considered that her silence might actually be her way of protecting her sect members? Maybe she’s carrying that burden alone so others won’t suffer for her mistakes.

Have you considered also that confessing might put her life in danger? In fact, she'd be committing the offence of misleading the emperor = death of offender + entire clan, other members of the Alliance might go for it as well.

How is everyone in the sect just standing by and letting XFT get her way, even when it's obvious that she has evil intentions? From her body language even the blind can tell she doesn't mean well, yet they keep acting like they don't see it. TLC himself had several chances to stop her early on, but instead turned a blind eye. This is crazy ridiculous!

FL should have stayed a spider; at least, calmer and somehow the most responsible creature on screen. Immediately she became human.. boom! Noise, chaos, childish and silly.

Only Gu Qian can be unbothered about his boss trying to kill him and instead worry about unpaid retirement benefits.

This drama is becoming ridiculous. An entire army of righteous warriors against a handful of villains, yet the righteous are still being dragged like unpaid interns.

I’m on episode 6, and our so-called young medical genius, Bai He Huai, hasn’t even managed to cure a simple headache. So much for being a prodigy. And she's a bit too inquisitive and noisy. Smh

The fact that ML can maintain the cold and expressionless face means he CAN act. That's exactly how his character is portrayed in the novel. But if you doubt he's a good actor, then check him out in Word of Honor.

Just 20? Wow! And she's got a great wealth of experience in acting. She really killed her role in the Litchi Road. Hope to see her in lead roles in the future.

I noticed that the characters speak a kind of Chinese dialect or accent that sounds quite different from what we usually hear in mainstream Chinese dramas. Could you tell me which dialect or variety of Chinese it is? I'm not Chinese myself. I depend totally on translation.

I once argued this drama deserved a higher rating, but after dragging myself through to the end, I can only call it a complete letdown. The last five episodes were a train wreck. Whatever magic the story had completely vanished. The actors tried, but even their effort couldn’t save the disaster served up by the writers and director.

Qiushui’s character was butchered beyond recognition. From a sharp and quick-witted lead, he was reduced to a helpless crybaby. He was paralyzed in moments where decisive action was needed, only to wail after the damage was done. It was painful to watch. The so-called ā€œstrongā€ characters were written into pathetic, clueless shells of themselves, while the villains grew stronger with every episode, unchecked and unstoppable. It made no sense.

This is not just weak storytelling; it’s careless and almost insulting to the audience. The drama set up something promising, then threw it all away in the end. What started as engaging turned into a frustrating mess. The ending was not only silly, it was lazy.

I regret ever praising it. My rating is withdrawn. It's completely undeserved.
