I don't quite remember my first drama, but it was probably something Japanese or Taiwanese.

Everything started with my love for all things Japanese. I was a big fan of Anime & Manga in my early teens, then I became a fan of Japanese music and dramas, which prompted me to learn the language, which led to studies of Japanese in university (among other things), which led to an exchange year in Japan, later followed by several years of working in Tokyo and embracing the salary woman lifestyle with long working hours and suffocating train rides during rush hour.

Somewhere along the way the Hallyu Wave hit me and I became a fan of all things Korean as well. I became addicted to K-Dramas and years later I also got infected with the K-Pop virus (it was a bit of an ON/OFF relationship between us).

Then The Untamed became all the hype and Wei Wuxian stole my heart. And you would think that would make me a Xiao Zhan fan, but for some reason I fell for Wang Yibo instead and never looked back. And now I watch way too many Chinese dramas.

What I watch:

I mainly watch Korean & Chinese dramas. I need action, mystery and/or drama, so if a show only focuses on fluffy romance, I'm out. But give me a badass character any time.

I place more value on well-written characters than the storyline itself. Awesome characters can even keep me hooked to a really crappy drama.

Stereotypes I dislike:

Weak and/or frustratingly timid or obedient female characters, "poor" candy/ rich jerk, insta love and cringe-worthy romance, pushovers that are absurdly forgiving, evil mother-in-laws and annoying exes, crybabies, DV, amnesia, last minute accidents, noble idiocy, senseless break ups and years apart

Troublemaker Fan Xian (Joy of Life) by Zhang Ruo Yun Strong martial artist, sneaky poison master, revered poet, skilled strategist and sought-after ally for the powerful elite. Fan Xian hides many secrets, tramples on etiquette and can't tolerate injustice and the blatant disregard of human life by the nobility.
	Untamable Yiling Laozu Wei Wuxian (The Untamed) by Xiao Zhan The whole world thinks he is evil, but in truth he is fiercely human. Almighty Guardian Xu Qi An (Guardians of the Dafeng) by Wang He Di A smart and cunning master investigator armed with knowledge from his life in the modern world. He has his own beliefs and a strong sense of justice and never bows to authority.
