I dont know about that as of right now I have only watched 5 eps but for those 5 eps they have done great job .
There is a big between three kingdoms and chasing jade (three kingdoms is heavily political military drama ) i doubt if that drama has even a little humor or any goofy character. I haven't watched it so I don't know . If a drama has humour or silly character its usually hard for us to feel sad and desperation from them)
The atmosphere also do the half job here in chasing jade its lively not dark.
