Don't trust the dimples. Don't trust the dimples! Don't even look at the cute dimples!
Ah, crisis averted! ๐
I finally caught up with this series and I have new thoughts. I really don't like where my mind went, but:
* If Pufai is alive then it means that she and Dr. Thaenkhun could be working together to eradicate the group like they're insects. Dr. Thae ain't slick. He's trying to throw Kamin off the case by showing interest. It leaves to ask, what is Pufai to the doctor? A sister? I mean, I've always said from day one that my top suspect is Dr. Phut, but with two doctors in the mix? ๐ค
* Is it possible that both doctors are working together to throw the cops off track (whether Pufai is alive or not?)
* I'll be disappointed if Fai is alive, but I had to consider that option. That'd mean that her death was faked (helped by one of those doctors).
Where exactly in Pheem's body language suggests that he is in love with Jira? Because I don't see it. All I see is a fixation dressed up in romantic language.
Pheem's body language suggests possession anxiety. Even when Jira confessed that he won't ever see Pheem as more than a friend, Pheem gets mad. Pheem doesn't display any trait of being in love. He acts entitled like, look at me! You should be in love with all of this!
Pheem's eyes don't wander over Jira the way Koh's eyes do. He simply locks in and fixates on Jira, something I've clocked since the very first meeting. The next thing I've noticed is that Pheem has this resistence: tension in the jaw, clenched posture and he seems to brace rather than soften his body.
Watch whenever Jira pulls away from whatever little intimacy they were to get into, Pheem's body suddenly light up with micro-aggression. Watch how his mouth tightens and his eyes harden. He feels threat because he's obsessed. Pheem is almost always rigid around Jira and instead of trying to meet Jira half way, he tries to pull Jira into his mess.
Pheem doesn't yearn for Jira. That's why when Pheem kissed Jira, that kiss was awkward and unsettling and the body is bad at pretending.
If Pheem was so in love with Jira, he'd exhibit curiousity and respect. However, all Pheem ever do is insist. Yes, he insists a lot. He insists why Jira can't choose him OVER KOH. Why Jira can't draw him LIKE KOH. Why Jira PREFERS KOH.
The show is showing us deliberately that Pheem is not in love with Jira if he keeps measuring and comparing himself to Koh. How in the world is that love? Every move Pheem makes toward Jira is triangulated through Koh! It's like he's consistently asking, "Am I enough compared to Koh?" What kind of behavior is this? It certainly ain't love!
He doesn't take Jira's hand and say, "This is what I want with you." Pheem seems to highlight everything Koh lacks except what Pheem really feels. It feels like he's keeping a scoreboard instead of giving a confession.
And love doesn't need performance!
And what does Jira do? He never indulges Pheem in performative talk. He doesn't correct, he doesn't even reassure. He listens and then changes the Koh subject to something more in the moment: his art, his vulnerability. Pheem acts as if just because he "feels", it grants him ownership over Jira's heart and life. ๐ง
In episode 9, Pheem asks Jira to see the drawing of Koh. After viewing it, he just gets up and starts walking away without looking at his own painting. Pheem doesn't talk about what Jira wants, he just complain about what he has endured and what he deserves. At this point, man can be accountant for he loves keeping score! You'd swear that Koh is his ex, the way Koh lives rent free in his mind. ๐
In the end, Pheem is not trying to win Jira's heart, he's trying not to lose to Koh. I can't feel sorry for any of them, not even Pheem who wants Jira to prove that his longing meant something. He tried to force something that wasn't there without getting it into his thick obsessive skull that YOU CAN'T MAKE SOMEONE WHO DON'T LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU BACK!!!!
Look at Koh. Despite being a jerk, Koh is Koh at the end of the day. Unlike Pheem, Koh never pretended to be someone he's not just to get into someone's pants. He's manipulative, he's nasty and honest in way that only Koh can be honest.
I agree - AI has been at the core of the social commentary of the series and this Chekhov's gun shot perfectly…
Yes, the AI part was handled well and I could only applaud the team for their consistency. AI is getting out of hand all because humans are searching for too many short cuts.
If Pleng is not Pleng and he's Tanu's real son (or relative) then does that mean that Tanu sold him to that family or made a deal with the devil (Pleng's grandma) in order to keep his mouth shut? Does the grandma hypnotizing him means that she's somehow trying to get this Pleng to relive the real Pleng's memories in order to keep the mother satisfied?
Is the grandma hypnotizing both her daughter and grandson and lulling them into a false hope of sorts? ๐ค Is the daughter in on it, too?
But I still want to believe that it's the real Pleng only that he's getting manipulated by hypnosis... but then it won't make sense with my theory.
Note: I'm now catching up before I get into episode 8.
Hmm. I feel like maybe KohJira will still happen, and Pheem might have a happy ending. I don't know
Exactly! As for me, I love OG, but in a situation like this I prefer they stay away from each other. But I'm sure we're going to get a time skip and Koh probably on his way to being a better man for Jira, but we'll see.
For one minute, I wished Jira had told Koh to go generate a love life on his high tech machine. And for what it's worth, that AI generated image was nothing close to a human's touch.
This is what happens when we let introverts who haven't been outside for too long play with AI. ๐คฃ
Koh, how does it feel to be in a relationship for 45 hours?
Ah, crisis averted! ๐

That's all for now.

"I don't get hurt that easily." Of course not, Mile, because you're a vampire! ๐
The reveals! ๐ฒ
Book's acting especially his "manical" expression at the end! ๐จโ๐ณ๐
Dao coming out of her shell to show her true self! ๐ฎ
All in all, this episode was the best so far! I look forward to the dust finally settling once and for all.
