I agree - AI has been at the core of the social commentary of the series and this Chekhov's gun shot perfectly…
Yes, the AI part was handled well and I could only applaud the team for their consistency. AI is getting out of hand all because humans are searching for too many short cuts.
If Pleng is not Pleng and he's Tanu's real son (or relative) then does that mean that Tanu sold him to that family or made a deal with the devil (Pleng's grandma) in order to keep his mouth shut? Does the grandma hypnotizing him means that she's somehow trying to get this Pleng to relive the real Pleng's memories in order to keep the mother satisfied?
Is the grandma hypnotizing both her daughter and grandson and lulling them into a false hope of sorts? 🤔 Is the daughter in on it, too?
But I still want to believe that it's the real Pleng only that he's getting manipulated by hypnosis... but then it won't make sense with my theory.
Note: I'm now catching up before I get into episode 8.
Hmm. I feel like maybe KohJira will still happen, and Pheem might have a happy ending. I don't know
Exactly! As for me, I love OG, but in a situation like this I prefer they stay away from each other. But I'm sure we're going to get a time skip and Koh probably on his way to being a better man for Jira, but we'll see.
For one minute, I wished Jira had told Koh to go generate a love life on his high tech machine. And for what it's worth, that AI generated image was nothing close to a human's touch.
This is what happens when we let introverts who haven't been outside for too long play with AI. 🤣
Koh, how does it feel to be in a relationship for 45 hours?
Not gonna lie, that was some high tech AI and I understand why Koh was excited to test it out. I'm still in awe by the "awesomeness" of it (the bleek future ahead for artists and even writers. I'll further elaborate below, thanks to Svetlana for pointing out that my wording didn't come across as I wanted it to).
However, what Jira took time to do over a period of days, weeks and maybe even months, AI generates in a few seconds. Yet, AI cannot replicate the warmness, the emotions, the thrill that was going through the artist. It can only mimic.
Kudos to the writers of this series for bringing AI to the forefront like this. 👏 We can all be mad at Koh into next week, but somebody had to do it. Koh loves AI so much, I think he could generate someone to help him sleep, too. 🤣
NOTE: the term "awesomeness" used here is not to praise AI. Rather, I tend to use this term when I'm suspended between emotions that I can't describe. Here, I'm merely in awe of what humans can do (build high tech AI). The "awesomeness" here refers to something so vast, so powerful that it can evoke fear and underneath the tone, I'm also like, I can't believe this nonsense.
