Like others have said, its actually enjoyable until around episode 7… then it loses its rom-com vibe and delves into some awful writing. Too bad since some characters were lovable.
Easy watch and enjoyable cast. Plenty of cliches but I’ve never been one to shy away from that. If I have any criticism its that fact that she’s considered “ugly” just because of her glasses and “bad” skin…. As someone with a history of genetic/hormonal acne that kinda sucks lol. But I guess it makes sense for S. Korea because they put such a strong emphasis on perfect skin as a beauty standard.
This is one of the better dramas I’ve watched of late, definitely one for the books. The slow but genuine romantic development between the two leads is MUAH! Chef’s kiss! Especially the way they communicate their way through their differences…
Occasionally I find myself wanting to rewatch this just for the heck of it lol. A masterpiece? Not at all. But it has that “classic kdrama” feel that I find comforting.
As a webtoon reader I can tell you that almost all adaptations are not it lol, it just kind of ruins the world in your mind. (Just as movies are to books.) Itaewon class was probably my favorite from this list, I’ve yet to watch Taxi Driver and Sweet Home….
I’m not completely opposed to polyamory and I appreciate the courage to introduce it through kdrama, but this… this ain’t it. No communication or honesty, and cheating is definitely still a NO.
I guess I'm the only one who have no clue who these people are. I never even heard of this drama until I came…
There’s obviously a bit of romance, but dr. romantic has more of a focus on medical drama and personal development stuff than the romance. I still don’t know if you’d like it, but I just wanted to put it out there.
Things I loved: Commentary on sk society, color schemes/visuals, overall vibe, characters, acting, the games
Things I didn’t love: Plot holes, VIP dudes (I mean I don’t doubt that horrible people like this exist, but its over-the-top unrealistic), the loss of momentum towards the end
Giving it an 8.8/10, I think it’s worth the hype even with its shortcomings
Also D.P. is a webtoon? Didn’t know that.
