I‘m drawn to this drama because a YT video said it was a flop. The mdl reviews are divided from best to worst. Very odd and sad at the same time. Seems no one can catch a break in Chinese entertainment. Doesn’t matter in the West. There’s always someone willing to watch. And get this it was picked up by Netflix. Win for Ren Min.

My feeling is that the drama’s public service announcement is a hero’s death is honorable. Do not mourn but live good lives to honor those who gave up their lives for others. Loving a hero comes with knowing he belongs to his servive.

Loved this drama. The bloody hand and gardener creeped me out a bit, but I’m happy I didn’t quit. The curse was explained really well. I like the parts when it went back to the past to fully understand. Also liked how the characters changed for the better. Now for the best, we have Shin Yu. He started off a perfectly made up doll and ended up a real live man. Loved it ❤️❤️❤️ This drama stood out for me. A rewatch ⭐️

The first crown prince arc should have been shorter. who wants to watch that spoiled brat kick his servants around. It is what it is. I ran out of time when it come to the best part from ep 32 on. I can’t really fast forward miss her interactions with her two sidekicks and Helian 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sigh…I’m not going to finish before it leaves netflix. If I could start over again, I would start from ep 20 or after the first crown prince part was over. Spent too much time with court intrigue. Fast forwarded and missed most of her story. The ML always had two trains of thought going on at the same time: her and a plot. The drama ending was best for her. Freed from the twisted, but left Sweet Nan Yi waiting.

Did you leave when they confessed in Minhai? I read that makes a good ending. I’m on 29. Oh well, hopefully Viki will carry it.

I’m liking this version because Nam Soon is pure instead of jaded like Bong Soon. First episode and the characters are already fleshed out. They’re different people coming from different mothers. I can see the difference. The original will always be pure slapstick comedy minus the sicko parts,

Absolutely agree 👍🏼 The original storyline was ruined by the sicko. And it popped up before you could fast forward. Hopefully this villain is not as depraved. Other than that it’s a different drama. Looks to be highly entertaining. Love it so far.

The many facial expressions of Shin Yu…rejection, sadness, longing..and that was up to the drunk scene. Had to step away.

Makes me want to go to the market right now!

Me too! Love the BGM second disc. Variations of no. 1: 16, 29, and 32. pasting the native title from Mdl to itunes has helped in finding my favorite ost music. Love the music from parallel worlds too.

Also watching it before it leaves netflix . The ML is over the top. The whole royal family is trying to outmaneuver each other. Some eps I have to watch twice. It became easier after she went to the academy. Plot is finally balancing out between the leads. I’ve reached ep 23. First crown prince shenanigans are finally over. That was too long. Now I realize why I couldn’t get past the beginning years ago. Her story is easier to watch versus his. The ML is over the top. Ruined my attraction to long haired men in c-dramas. 😔

I have actually watched up to ep 23, past the crown prince shenanigans. It was a struggle until she went to the academy. Even then I had to rewatch eps to understand the plot. I hope it’ll be more about her. Ning Yi is over the top. The emperor is very interesting. Fourteen days until it leaves netflix and its downloads. 20+ a week.
