I don’t consider two years long especially if the gf didn’t know he was seriously ill. Asking for time apart and she shows up at his condo with her slippers. It would make him think twice abut staying with her even without the love spell. She’s relentless even his former coworker said so. He’s the kind of guy to not care/go with flow because a bloody hand and brain issues is what he’s dealing with. After the “he didn’t disagree” proposal, I think he’s trying to get the fl to really see him.
