I didn't say anything wrong about mixed reviews in other sites which could be either positive or negative. I am in England, I can can sign up and write review anywhere, doesn't have to be an expert to do that as long as you have watch the shows. You can read some of my reviews in imdb, etc. I rated and wrote some reviews there already. It’s just audiences’ reviews! So? Try to sign up to imdb your self, it’s free!
You can not force people to like the same thing what you called “global success” you like though. I love global success like game of throne and breaking bad, those 2 are the best shows for me by far, but my best friend hate them. Everybody's different. So, I don't know what your problem here, mate!
I only wrote in dramalist for good review for royal nirvana 1 and 2 as I just finished watching it and I was amazed by it. I didn't write review for the Untamed, I just dropped few lines on here as I thought I could find some encouragement to continue watching it as I am struggling. But this encouragement def not getting it especially from someone like you :-)
I kind a like where the story going. However, Yang Mi real voice and acting did put me off watching this time! I like some Yang Mi dramas when not using her own voice, I wished they’ve dubbed her voice! I currently drop this after watching 5 episodes :-(
Just looking at your list I think you and I have very similar tastes. Eternal Love was my #1 until The Untamed…
I agreed about the lead casts acting, Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo are great promising young actors. I don't always watch heavy drama, I also enjoy fantasy and lighthearted even comedy dramas that made me smile lots as helping me to relax after long day work. As I mentioned above, bad acting and clumsy productions or cinematography can be rather annoying and make me dropping the show.
Well, this is free forum and everyone are entitle to share their opinions. There’ll always be mixed reviews anyway and such as in Amazon prime video in the UK or imdb USA. Basically you can help giving feedbacks without boundaries after you watch the show. Everyone's would have their own choice in the end despite the reviews. I like Xiao Zhan, great actor. The fact that he died in the beginning of the story and back to life but in somebody else’s body. It is a typical a ghost story and demonic cultivation vibes I was getting?! I tried to keep watching disregarding not my kind of story only because rating; and lead casts, Sean and Yibo have great acting but the supporting casts did really put me off watching!
To each their own. I dropped Royal Nirvana after seeing 7 episodes because the only thing I liked about that drama…
Likewise, 7 episodes of Royal Nirvana wouldnt give you any idea about the big picture even when you finished 60 episodes you will still be puzzled and need to watch extra 12 reps of Royal Nirvana Special. If you are not a big fan of historical political dramas with sadistic plot and no happy ending which could drain our emotion, Royal Nirvana is definitely not for you. Like the untamed is not for me.
The production value is definitely lower, and it *is* marketed as an 'idol drama', so at face value, it's definitely…
I don't always watch anything heavy, just need something interesting to get me watching it. But I didn't think I would spend more of my time watching all 50 reps of the untamed. I may prefer to spend my night time watching for beautiful and refreshing dramas that make me smile perhaps like the words of honour, long ballad or court lady.

Try to watch it out of curiosity really as the rating was high and many recommended it. Yes, perhaps I appreciate more dramas with complex plots, vivid cinematography and brilliant casts and acting like Royal Nirvana, the Rise of the Phoenix and Nirvana in Fire for instance. Unfortunately, the untamed was not as exciting as I thought it would be but at least I have invested to watch 12 episodes!
Not a big fan of the dark magic or ghost story. Acting of some casts were so so and sometimes exaggerated and annoying. Production and cinematography were nothing extraordinary! I not sure why people it, but I just didn't. I indeed tried to continue watching it few times on Netflix, but I just couldn't. It’s just not my cup of tea as I just finished watching mature historical drama like Royal Nirvana which was far more epic than the Untamed :-(
