Happy Birthday inimitable and unreachable Choi Ji Woo! đ The one and only our beautiful queen, always in my thoughts for the Masterpieces enriched by your extraordinary performances, an example of talent and style for the new generations, all the love of this world to you, and, please, come back very soon! â¤ď¸
Extraordinary and beautiful Kim Hee Sun, Happy Birthday to you! â¤ď¸ if I think back on your most favourite works I'd never finish it, but I'll list four of them; âGoodbye My Loveâ, âSad Love Storyâ, âFaithâ, âAngry Momâ, and âRoom No. 9â... What do you say!? That's five!? And I told you, I wouldn't stop praising you, I'm so happy to see you always present between movies and dramas, as for Choi Ji Woo, you are an example of inimitable talent and beauty! All the best!
I really loved âMarry my Husbandâ, both for the story, which was very well articulated, as well as for Park Min Young's fantastic performance, definitely on a better level than his previous âLove in Contractâ, which I found rather banal and disappointing (I dropped it not even halfway through...).
I liked âQueen Of Tearsâ a little less (but I won't go into that because I added my review some time ago) while I can't express an opinion on âRunnerâ because, after an interesting start in the first episode, it seemed to me to move into teen drama territory and I, a bit like Murtaugh in âLethal Weaponâ, âI am too old for thisâ (censored version...)
It's definitely interesting the statistic on paid platforms, Korea doesn't have many fewer population than Italy, but the audience figures on these cable platforms are really impressive, they are numbers or percentages that we do on free mainstream TV now even this TVING which seems really fierce, but don't the Koreans ever come out in the end!?
Happy Birthday beautiful âĽď¸ What else to add, you are in so many of those works that I adore and and that I love to watch often that just seeing your beautiful smile makes the day better, Come back soon to delight us! Happy Birthday!
Jang Na Ra-ssi, and it's a good thing you recently got married, but you never stop... I can't keep up with all your work! Let's see what you come up with, the subject is not exactly new, so it will take a lot of good scriptwriting on the part of the authors
I really thank you for your comment, and for the really relevant reflections drawn from it...I have been following…
Eh, I'm an incurable romantic myself, perhaps it is precisely in my great fascination with the melodramas of the past, mainly the Hollywood ones of the 1940s and 1950s, often bordering on the fantastic, surrealist or noir styles, that I find so many quality elements in dramas, especially in the Korean ones... For every âSecretary Kimâ there is a âStairway To Heavenâ, and so on...
I like the idea that one can dare, push the limits of love further and further, not for nothing is it called âAmour Fouâ... I would like one day to list movies that could be considered precursors or at least inspirers of Korean dramas, there are so many, but I don't know how much such a discussion would interest most...
I'll be pleased to add some reviews here from time to time, trying to tickle someone's curiosity and interest, I've done it often in the past, about other places and this makes me particularly happy...
Curiously enough, I had planned to watch âThe Midnight Romance in Hagwonâ; I like her a lot, especially in her old dramas (the ones I'm most devoted to...); the list to watch, however, is endless, I like to focus on one work at a time, so who knows when I'll be able to manage it...
I really thank you for your comment, and for the really relevant reflections drawn from it...I have been following…
Ah, well, absolutely right, with reference to the 'benevolence' towards the male, it is a strongly patriarchal society where women really face problems of all kinds, there is no need to list them, the cinematography is exemplary from this point of view... It will take a big generational change before a more defined gender equality takes shape...
Not too long ago, even here in Italy, there was a discussion in various newspapers about women's awareness in Korea against a male chauvinist condition and the growing rejection of the rules imposed on marriage and the progressive denatality, to the point of a sort of 'misandry' (hatred towards men)...
It clashes so much with the endless Cinderella stories that the entertainment industry keeps feeding us... I may have gone a bit over the top, but if I think back to shows (beautiful ones, by the way!) like 'Something In The Rain' and the like, there is a lot to be done...
It's rare to find a person here who appreciates this much Ms Perfect, so i'm glad to come across your review.…
I really thank you for your comment, and for the really relevant reflections drawn from it...I have been following "Ms. Perfect" with a growing curiosity and a definite satisfaction in the development of the story...Perhaps it was because of my love for a certain cinematography, which I tried to summarize in my reflection, that I began to imagine the house itself as the real " main character" of the drama...
It's creepy and fascinating at the same time, it seems to live a life of its own, I even love film noir where in these huge houses there are stairs, a lot of stuff always happens because of the stairs and in "Ms. Perfect" there are beautiful stairs and all those doors, every door a mystery...
I too thought of a different fate for the husband, I think the authors left themselves open to the "extreme" eventuality and then a somewhat more family-friendly spirit won out (in this regard I am reminded of the plateally open-air ending, in antithesis to the oppression of the aforementioned " main character" house) and then yes, definitely for me too, the two women one the mirror of the other is perhaps the best or easiest allegory to decode the underlying doubt behind the title...
Happy birthday Maggie! Beautiful as always đ i would have loved to see you collab with Tarantino, you really would be perfect for him (Quentin if you are reading, take note!) Best wishes to you!
Happy Birthday Ji Hoon! "Lucifer" is amazing, I really liked "Mask" and even "Jirisan" although not exactly a masterpiece is performed very well, you're really good, I'm not into zombie stuff (apart from Romero's movies) so "The Kingdom" I haven't seen, 미ěí´ěđ , but something else of your work I hope to catch up with soon, congratulations and happy birthday again!
Happy Birthday, beautiful IU! Your outstanding talent and your extraordinary beauty won me over immediately. To know you are so young and so incredibly gifted already, both in music and movies, must make you feel proud of your impressive career. Whenever I think back to your extraordinary and moving performance in 'Moon Lovers', surrounded by an incredible cast, I am reminded of certain lady heroines portrayed in the classics of Asian cinematography, I write this without any doubt, ... From then on, with 'Hotel Del Luna', 'My Mister' and the success of 'Broker' by the master Kore'eda (much loved in Italy) it is total love You are really gorgeous and I can't wait to see you soon in some new project Many Many Happy Birthday wishes to you! â¤ď¸
It seems redundant to repeat it, but this actress alone is worth watching the drama (nevertheless the rest of the cast is truly remarkable). In 2024 I've already seen the excellent "Marry My Husband", "Hide", "The Bequeathead" and "Queen Of Tears" with performances especially by the lead actresses that were truly impressive, so great expectations for "Bittersweet Hell" which I believe is announced on VIKI
I recalled the gorgeous IU in 'Hotel Del Luna' always wearing different outfits, apparently 123 according to counts found online, but 166 for Kim Ji won is just unbelievable... It must have a walk-in wardrobe as big as my house!
As a teaser really not bad, absolutely tantalising, even the snowy landscapes as I like them! It looks misleading though, it's not so much black comedy, anyway... I can't wait! Love Kim Hee Sun!â¤ď¸
Happy Birthday Maestro What would the world be without your work!? At least for me, certainly poorer in emotion and passion for cinema: I would have to quote almost your entire filmography, from "The Killer" to "Hard Boiled", to "Bullet in the head", plus your Hollywood works, "Face Off" above all (even "Paycheck", despite Ben Affleck...) Every now and then I go back to the beautiful monography dedicated to you, where you mention your favourite movies, including Truffaut's "Les Quatre Cents Coups", "Les Parapluies de Cherbourg" of Jacques Demy (a movie that all lovers of Korean dramas should absolutely see!), "Mean Streets" by the great Martin Scorsese, and then Hitchcock, Peckinpach, Melville, Kurosawa... Well, if many of these directors and titles are particularly dear to me, it is also thanks to you. Thank you for your immense contribution and all the best!
Happy Birthday, gorgeous! I recently saw you again with pleasure in "The Bequeathed" and of course you are always extraordinary; if I think back to your incredible performance in "I Have A Lover" that captivated me for its entire duration! Every now and then I pick up some of your work from the good old days, because it's always nice to admire you. I can only repeat the opinions of those before me, you are absolutely amazing! Best wishes again! â¤ď¸
Many happy Birthday to "Our Girl", â¤ď¸ but darling, come back soon, we miss your beautiful eyes and your smile! "My Girl" is always among my favourite soundtracks! All the best!
Lee Joon Gi, Happy Birthday! Oh, you're so famous, huh!? Look at all the fans and especially female supporters... Well, you know what!? You deserve it, because you're really good; "Flower of Evil" and "Moon Lovers" are some of my favourites on my list, and I still love "Iljimae" and "My Girl" after so long... Those are good stories that are enhanced by your interpretations; I remember your guest appearance on "Family Outing" as one of the best (and also funny!) moments of that wonderful show... So, thank you for your work and continue your great career All the best again!
Bellissima, many happy birthday wishes to you! But did you know that just yesterday 'The Transporter' was on TV!? It's always bizarre to hear you 'speak' in Italian (the usual dubbing...) You have no idea the great joy when we saw you in the jury at the Venice Film Festival (you were so gorgeous!) You have always been one of my favourites, thanks also to Maestro Hou Hsiao-hsien who has been able to enhance you so much (ever since "Millennium Mambo", one of those movies that I watch with pleasure from time to time) We love you a world of love, I hope your every wish can be granted.â¤ď¸ Happy Birthday!
