I have noticed this lack of screen chemistry in the lead couple in the past one month or so. I feel that the issue is Baek Jin Hee who appears uncomfortable with physical contact with Ahn Jae Hyun. The kissing scene at the beach made me so uncomfortable because Ahn JH was like kissing a statue. Baek JH just sat still and refused to kiss back. Most kdrama kissing scenes are totally unlike this one. I am sure everyone has watched some very hot kissing scenes in kdrama.
When Ahn JH hugged her, her arms hung by her side and they would slowly move up a little but it was certainly not a hug. This happened recently in TK’s house when TK managed to convince YD not to leave him again. Ahn JH is doing a good job while Baek is not lovey dovey at all. I cannot feel YD’s love for TK-not at all.
On the other hand, watch the eldest brother & wife. Wife Soo Jung often smiles and looks affectionately at her husband.
My guess is the woman on the phone with JH is his adoptive mother who is a gambler and borrowed from loansharks. She is very likely to bring JH down when the loansharks pester her to repay and then she coerces him to embezzle NX Group’s funds. JH will conspire with SJ to do it. Both will eventually go to jail. This is purely my speculation. 😉

Many commenters refer to JH as sperm donor. But it is completely erroneous because JH & YD did have a sexual relationship. That's how she got pregnant. A sperm donor does not have any relationship with the woman. So despite our hatred of JH, the fact is JH is indeed the biological father.

Yes, distress certainly can cause a miscarriage. That’s why I wrote earlier that TK & YD should move out immediately. But I meant both of them move out not YD leaving alone. From the preview, YD moved to a village. So both TK & YD can move to a village too.
As this is her first pregnancy, she should not live alone because emergency may very well occur and she would need help from her family or TK who is a gynaecologist.
Yes, I do find this drama very riveting because the storyline is rather uncommon to me and, like you said, the cast is great. Having said that, I don’t understand why the chemistry between TK & YD has somewhat waned in the past one month.
I understand how guilty YD is feeling. But she broke her promise to TK that she would never leave him. Despite the guilt, YD should stick to her promise to TK and stay together to the end. Imo, In Ok over-acted when she screamed like a lunatic. 🙄 I must add that the actress who plays In Ok is an excellent actress. See how her eyes changed from warm & loving to cold- blooded & arrogant. The initial stage of this appalling discovery is understandably disgusting for In Ok but if she truly loves her son, she would have slowly accepted YD graciously. The key words now for the Gongs is to show grace and love to YD.

SJ is showing signs of insanity - I’ve a bad feeling that SJ might attempt to hurt or even kill YD. But JH will be the one hurt or killed as he tries to save YD. This might be JH’s redemption arc....just my wild guessing.

TK’s acting in this episode is great. His kneeling to his stepfather, crying and trembling made me cried too. His stepfather did not bother to help him stand up made me 😡.
So what will TK do if his stepfather insists to the end that he break up with YD? Will he then give in pressure and break up with YD? Oh please TK....just pack up and move out with YD! He is almost 35 years old but he feels that he needs his stepfather’s permission to stay with the woman whom he loves? I know this is very common in kdrama. One’s parents or grandparents have the power to dictate who you can date or love or marry or divorce. This is very odd when this drama is set in the year 2023.
