I didn’t expect to like this drama so much! It’s a beautiful one. Suzy and Yang Se Jong are so good together. The last drama I watched Suzy in was Start Up and she’s leveled up her acting in Doona!. She’s luminous here and of course we all believe her as a kpop idol since she’s really one. Having said that, her emotional depth here was well portrayed. As for Yang Se Jong, I’d only seen him as a very young actor in Dr Romantic - well, he’s definitely grown up into a charismatic, emotionally astute actor, and good looking to boot. Interestingly, I found closure in the ending. Oh, great OST too. Ordinary Day by Suzy is lovely and bittersweet. Don’t miss out on this drama!!
Finished watching this series - basically binged the last few episodes. This was a heartwarming, beautiful, lighthearted journey….the production team got everything right, from the script to the casting to the post-production. Pacing was perfect, never a dull moment. I especially love how the FL expresses her thoughts at the end of each episode - a sound bite of what she’s thinking. How could anyone not fall in love with someone so brave, effervescent and true? And those rare dimpled smiles from the ML. They stole each other’s hearts. Solid ten for me.
This drama gives me plenty of feels. Feel-good, that is. Am only at episode 12 but just want to say that so far this is such a well-crafted drama made with, dare I say, love. The actress, new to me, who’s playing the FL gives just the right amount of adorable, without any cringe. She knows when to pull back - a solid 10. Zhou Yi Ran, the ML who I’ve only seen before in Falling Into Your Smile, also successfully conveys his “aloofness as a defence” without appearing cold. Another solid 10. The supporting cast are fab. The OST also a thumbs up. Can’t wait to watch the rest of the episodes.
Agree. Personally I hope people read the novel so they can appreciate more what screen writer has done (outside…
Thanks so much! Don’t know why I couldn’t post the link :-(. I just finished the novel. I have panda eyes from reading nonstop. The drama was a heavily adapted version but the main characters of YY and WZ were pretty true to it. I have gained even more appreciation for the screenwriter - not easy to turn the original source into something people will watch on screen.
agree with this, the editing got a hatchet job, but the overall story is good, and the acting is good. It's not…
I don’t understand the hate either. I haven’t watched TEOTM but I was watching Back From The Brink when I started on Beauty of R. BFTB is definitely a much more well-made production - if only the team that did the editing could have done the same for B of R which has been entertaining in spite of the poor editing. Yes the plot makes big jumps which has us audiences scratching our heads. As some commenters say, it can get a bit too fast paced. One of the biggest issues is the uneven pacing. Some parts they are sprinting, some parts they need to speed it up 🤣
I’m hooked on this drama. The story’s got enough twists and turns to keep me watching so much so that I started reading the web novel it’s adapted from. The drama is a lot different from what I’ve read so far. But now I can imagine the actors’ faces when I read! I love Fiction Guo and Kiku in this - they are both wonderful eye candy. I’ve never watched anything by either actor before, they are both new to me. It’s such a pity that the editing of this series is so horrible, a real hatchet job to squeeze so much story into 36 episodes. I think the acting is decent, and I love the OST, including the background music (anyone has a link to the BGM, please?). Let’s hope it’s a HE even if it’s bound to be an abrupt one. Why is it that so many cdramas start out so well and then falter in the later part?
