Just finished this drama. I’m gutted for Qimin, the most tragic character. Kept watching for the handsome SWL but also stayed for the rest of the supporting cast. A likeable cast that did a decent job with a less than stellar script and poor post production. Unfortunately, the most jarring was the lead actress. Beixuan costumes and hair were gorgeous. Wolf Lord lost his sparkle somewhere in Yannan, sigh. Oh, I have the ending theme song by Tiger Hu on loop! All in all, an easy watch although it did drag in the Yannan chapter.

I just finished reading the novel and I love it 🥰, in fact I binged it. What an epic story, although a tad convoluted at times. The lead characters are written with lots of chemistry. Characters and events from the past are nicely tied up with the present, no loose ends. Yes please fast track the post production and release the drama version ASAP! Hope it lives up to the novel.

She was also excellent in Love Like The Galaxy.

I’ve finished reading Shao Huo Rui Jin. It’s a light read and hardly any angst….sweet and spicy romance! But because it’s heavy on the romance and less action, I’m concerned about how the drama can sustain interest. If it is done right like You Are My Glory - I loved this purely romantic drama - it would be awesome, although that is a modern drama.

It truly is the one drama right now that I am enjoying the most. Also, what a gorgeous cast.

He must have got really immersed in this role. I’ve only read 60% of the novel so far. I wonder if something happens later that would make him so emotional. In any case, I think Bao Shang En is adorable, she will be a good fit for the role of Ming Tan. It’s a sweet relationship so far.

Do you mean he liked this role so much that he was so sad when the show wrapped up filming?

Woah the novel Shao Huo Rui Jin is ahem “spicy”. They are like two rabbits, to keep to the rabbit theme haha.

Awww I hope so too, I felt it was such a hard and unfair choice to leave behind a son. Then there might be a sequel where the twins grow up as enemies 😆

I see them as two variations of the same story, like a bonus, ha! This production is well done, it should stand on its own merit. Happy that SWL doesn’t disappoint here - I’d heard that his acting leaves much to be desired so I hadn’t watched his previous performances. I will go check them out after this and also am looking forward to his drama with Bao Shang En (reading that novel now!) and the modern one with Zhao Jin Mai.

Couldn’t have said it better! That heartbreak makes the getting back together so much sweeter. Can’t wait for the next chapter when she goes home.

I agree, the cliff scene is really pivotal. I actually felt relieved for her when she did that jump in the novel.

Everything you said 🙌! The storytelling here is excellent. The costumes and hair are excellent. When a story gets my heart fluttering, I know it’s a good one. I’ve read the novel and though the male lead character in the drama is a gentled down version, there still is enough passion to believe in the two leads. With this drama, Song Wei Long becomes my current hearththrob.

I don’t know why there’s so much critique for this show….I’m so enjoying it!! I tried watching Flourished Peony but haven’t felt like continuing. This drama is way, way better than I expected. I like a good love story. I wish most dramas were as satisfying. The storytelling here is engaging, no boring parts. Also can I say that I have a newfound appreciation of the whip as a weapon, so versatile and hawt 🔥.
