Yes this is not that bad.Ending is also reasonable.At the end Fugui fulfilled everyone' s wish in this whole 3 series.Only flaw here is the storyline of 2nd half.But by considering costumes,CGI,acting,ost this should be definitely higher than 8 here.

Yes you're right.In here most of good k dramas are rated below 8.But they are really good when compare to some high rated C dramas here.

I don't know much about douban.But I think in China it considered as one of a benchmark when compare drams.Recently aired Blood river got 7.2 with nearly 79000 ratings.Whisper of Fate scored 5.7 with nearly 46000 ratings.

I don't know LIP ratings in Douban But Red Moon Pact(1st chapter of FSMM) scored 5.6 on Douban.

I saw doubon ratings is 6.0 nearly 232000 ratings.

Yes that's true.Like I commented earlier this whole mess was caused by that unnecessary annoying QC spider.He did nothing to this story.But he manged to ruined completely the pure relationship between main couple.He was the reason that QT obtained that seed.If it didn't happen,she wouldn't end up that way.That QT and QC sibling bond is actually unnecessary and most annoying thing in this whole series.That annoying QC character ruined everything and caused this whole mess.If this series hadn't such character storyline and ending would be better than this.

In wuxia generations and normal costume dramas normally don't talk about concepts like god's,immortalility,demons etc.
If you more into fight scenes definitely check wuxia dramas like Mysterious Lotus case book,Blood of Youth,The Journey of Legend.

If you are more into romance,revenge type drams check dramas like Prisoner of beauty,Love like galaxy,Blossom.

In c dramas costume dramas can be categorized into 3 types.
1)Xianxia generation- like this(mostly tell about immortality,gods,demon hunters etc.)
2)Wuxia generation- In there mostly tell about the Chinese martial arts( Like Mysterious Lotus case book)
3) Period dramas - Mainly focus on historical concepts(Love like galaxy,Prisoner of Beauty)

Xianxia dramas mainly focusing on Save the world from dark forces(like evil gods,demons)

Wuxia dramas mainly focusing on fighting against the injustice and make peace.

If you are more into this you can also check dramas like Love between fairy and devil,Immortal Samsara,Till the end of the moon.

But after S&B aired I saw many people have become CY fans and they also watched the TJOL.If his upcoming VOA have a good storyline I think this will be a good year for CY.

I also agree with you.TJOL is a one of best wuxia drama.It is a traditional style wuxia story.In the begining of TJOL XQS is a playful character.After loosing his parents he improved his martial skills and find the real murderer of his parents.Most of the wuxia dramas now a days ML is already very powerful and storyline is completely different from TJOL.Because of the antis negative comments I think in the begining most of people didn't see true beauty of TJOL.So TJOL didn't get much global attention.

The reason behind the low rating of TJOL is anti's ratings.In that time they had rated one stars even unaired episodes.That storyline ,CGI had some flaws.But it's rating should be higher than 8.But CY did a great job there.
Sword and Beloved ,ep 1-18 was fantastic.After that everything changed because of stupid storyline and annoying and unnecessary QC spider.If it hadn't such a annoying character this would be great and ending would be better than this.QC completely ruined the pure relationship between MC.QC didn't do much for storyline but that character ruined everything.He is the reason that QT obtained that seed.If it didn't happen ,QT ending wouldn't be that bad.
Because of the first episodes of S&B(specially ep 12), this drama get global recognition and many people saw CY ' s acting and praise him.TJOL couldn't get into global list at that time.Because of the negative comments of antis.
So I don't think this year is a completely bad year for CY.
