Esther’s cuteness is extremely working for me in this one. it doesn’t always but somehow knowing that she’s playing this character as a cutesy teenager who’s been sheltered and not bitten by the bitterness of life I find her insanely adorable, charming and a pleasure to watch. I know I will miss this version of her as the story progresses and I assume she grows up and does have to taste some of life’s bitterness and pain.
I think she’s 19 and he’s like 7 years older. She was 9 when he moved away and she says it’s been 10 years since they’ve seen each other. Amd he looked around 7/8 when she was born.
yes but it’s not a typical adoption situation. The father adopted him since he was his best friends son, but the mother never accepted him and never treated him like her son. And he knew he wasn’t their son. And he left when FL was 9.

Is it just me but how does one go from calling some gege( brother) in one episode to kissing them in the next.…

he’s the son of one of the fathers dead best friends and the mother never accepted him or raised him as her daughters brother. They lived in the same house for a period of years but he always knew she wasn’t his blood sister and she last saw him when she was 9. She’s never known him as a teen or an adult. If you meet someone you haven’t seen for 10 years and you were 9 the last time you saw them and you are clear that this is not your actual sibling but someone older you cared about and now you are both adults, there’s nothing weird or incestuous about an attraction.

no I had the same problem. I think it would have actually worked better if the FL from part one was what she actually looked like on the outside and we saw her primarily and Alice ko we only saw in pieces as her authentic inside. since her mother asked for them to make her look different it would have easily worked with the plot. So I too didn’t connect with Alice Ko as much.
It was a 12/10 until they left the prison and then it was very up and down and uneven. Going to give it a rewatch without breaks to see if it’s better than it was watching weekly and the rate it.
