there is a lot of projection happening here that doesn’t exist in the JZ character. He likes her because she knew him before his life went off track and everything went wrong. She remembers him as the reliable, smart, studious big brother, something that he likely misses in his life and she looks at him with those same eyes of someone he yearns to still be. His life went off path, everyone in his life knows this current version of him but not the prior one, not the one she knows.
