I just judge from the writers’ previous works, also the ambience of this show is quite dark and I don’t think romance is its main trope so you don’t know what to expect. I do hope this time the writers show us mercy and let them together but it ‘s better be prepared for the worst. Maybe that’s because I’ve watched too many jdramas, lol

She's so fine in Saiai, with suit and natural make up. Love her androgynous look.

For jdrama, I think this season is quite satisfying, there are some serious dramas with good story like Japan Sinks, Saiai etc but then we get cutie pie like Kieta Hatsukoi and Koi desu

I'm on episode 2, it's perfect and painful at the same time. The set is so beautiful, I should go to Gifu in my next trip to Japan. The music is also beautiful. Utada Hikaru's song toward the end of every episode especially captured the atmosphere of the show perfectly. Love the main couple, I really hope they would be together in the end though the chance may be slim.

Seriously, who wouldn't fall in love with Ida, this guy has the look, heart and brain. I can't believe he's seemingly not that popular at school. And Aoki is a ray of sunshine, superclumsy but you can't hate him. Can't wait for the sixth episode, I want to see Hashimoto and Akkun make some progress on their relationship too.

hi, may I know in which region is it available? cause I'm still in Asia and I can't find it on Viki. I want to watch it legally so they would put more Jdramas on their platform

Aoki'a actor is just 19, Hashimoto is 21, Aida is 22 and Ida is 24. They're relatively young though. If you watch other Asian dramas, the actors who play as highschoolers are around that age too, sometimes older.
And about Aida's actor (Suzuki Jin), I don't think he suits his recent style, he looks better and younger in his other dramas like Horimiya, but I love his acting here, he really nailed the character.

tbh it's better than I expected. Love Eguchi here, she does a good job playing as the MC. It's apparent that Machida's character has a crush on his girlboss or just being overprotective, he's so dreamy. And Akaso being a poor student with those puppy eyes, I have an urge to adopt him. Can't wait for the next episodes, it has potential, the side characters are interesting too.

I can’t believe tsundere-faced Suzuki Jin could convincingly play an overly baka character like Akkun, lol. This show is too sweet and cute, it gives me cavities.

I always find Sakaken and Mahiro’s photos from this drama on my TL and now I’m tempted. Not a fan of contract marriage thing but I guess I’ll try this one.

agree though, it's so easy for kdramas to reach 8,6 or above meanwhile for jdramas it's tough as hell when it's clearly not inferior. Kiekoi does a good job with the rating here.

Yes, J actors generally aren’t afraid to explore their roles, like Machida Keita, many CM fans were surprised to find out that Karube in Alice in Borderland is him. And don’t expect they would always look perfect and neat on screen like actors in kdramas for example. I said kdramas because in Kmovies they tend to have more realistic looks.
Btw I love Cdramas too but I mostly watch their costume dramas, the production value is great and the plot is quite engaging but not really makjang type. The downside is I can’t resist the urge to bingewatch all the 40++ episodes.

Hi, have you tried Ossan’s Love and What did you eat yesterday? The characters are older than CM’s, and the later is more like Slice of life drama, very refreshing. Both are on Netflix.

omg what a mess, I want Jdramas to get more exposure but this kind of fans make me worry. I know FujiTV kinda ride on CM’s popularity, but as far as I can remember, the first time they announced the cast, it’s confirmed that Eguchi and Akaso would be the leads, a few moments later, Machida and other actors were said to be the supporting roles, logically Kurodachi couple are very unlikely to happen.

FYI if you enjoy CM, there is a cute BL drama airing this season called Kieta Hatsukoi, many CM fans seem to enjoy it.

I’m glad you finally gave Jdramas a chance. Tbh we can’t say Jdramas fall into the same category. We can get comical, silly type manga/anime adaptation, but there are also the serious or realistic ones, which usually have better acting. Jdramas are different with Thai dramas, where BL actors are mainly star in BL dramas, sadly many BL fans fail to understand this.

Seriously? there's no single clue of it being a BL related drama. And also from the start we know Eguchi Noriko would be the lead.

I'm aware of the tendency of the rating too since I'm also a long time fan of jdramas. But compared with other airing Jdramas from this season, its rating is considered low, though it was quite anticipated before.
