Okay that was one hell of a twist in the last ep. I need to summarise this. Tell me if I'm wrong about anything. So 10 years ago, Cha Dong Tak basically coerced (maybe too much of a strong word?) Prosecutor Tak (classmate?) to drive his dads car on the road which led to an accident killing our conmans and helmet girls parents. Ofcourse Cha Dong Tak leaves scene earlier totally unaware of what he has done and poor Tak is left to hold all the blame. That's where the necklace is dropped. His dad, ofcourse, doesn't want his son getting 'wet' so he tries to cover the case up. Ssongs dad takes up the case (I think?) but Director Tak makes him into a corrupt officer and kills him making it look like suicide. But, unfortunately there's a witness to the accident who demands money in exchange for keeping his mouth shut. And that guy happens to be the owner of the lighter. He eventually is killed by Director Tak. While investigating how he died, Hang Joon is also killed and made into a corrupt officer, by none other than our helmet girl who does all the dirty work for Director Tak. Am I getting anything wrong?
Thanks for the article. I was always trying to find drama specials to watch but I didn't know where to start. Will definitely check some of these out when I have the time.
Okay, I have so much to say about this drama I don't even know where to start from.
Firstly, Gil Tae Mi, I love you and I might have just shed a few drops of tears when you died. I'm not the type to fall in love with villains but I just couldn't see him as a 'baddy'. He had such good qualities. For instance, he was really loyal to his people. He sided with Hong In Bang until the very end even though he knew he would eventually be on the losing side. And, gosh, did he have swag. That scene where he slowly perfected his eyeliner when some dudes came to kill him and told them to wait... Oh God, perfection. And he was so particular about having his meals on time, it was cute. Okay towards the end he went a bit crazy and killed all those innocent people but yeah...
Second : That Green Mountain Song that Gap Boon and Dang Sae sang at some point of the drama was really amazing. I listened to it so many times, I eventually memorized it and now it's stuck in my head. And now my family's getting really annoyed because I keep singing it.
And do I even need to mention Yoo Ah In and his phenomenal acting. I really liked the character he played. Every scene made me fall in love with Yi Bang Won even more. He was so unpredictable and amazing and somehow always knew exactly what he wanted and how to achieve it. He is honestly inspiring.
And I'm really bitter about the fact that Bang Won and Boon Yi didn't end up getting married even though it was brought up so many times. I know they had their reasons and whatnot but honestly it was frustrating coz I thought they would eventually get married but they didn't.
Oh and just how much of this is based on real history? Are all the characters and events actual history or are some of them made up? I really don't know much about Korean history.
what an emotional roller coaster. the acting was so poignant - i could see how each character felt from just a…
So I was thinking whether or not I should watch Empress Ki while browsing through old comments and I really enjoyed reading your analysis on Yuans character. I could almost feel all the emotions he must have experienced even though I haven't even watched the drama. Oh, and based on your comment I have (finally) decided that I don't want to watch Empress Ki. Not because I thought it was bad but because my heart is too weak to take such a tragic heavy plotline. I feel like if I watch it, I might just die of heartache for this Yuan guy. And yes, I realize I might just be missing out on an amazing drama.
He clearly touched her thinking she was a robot and had no allergic reaction. How is that possible? I remember he had an allergic reaction when she grabbed him by the collar in the car. Doesn't that mean that his sickness is psychological? Like he has a past trauma related to people or something?
That moment in the last episode when Yeoning sees the crown prince on the floor and his legs just give in... I cried so much. A great drama overall and the lack of romance made it a whole lot better. I really don't like conflict over love interests in historical dramas.
Thanks for the article. You gave me a good laugh. Especially the little comments underneath the pics. I agree with most of these but I really enjoyed Romantic Doctor. As for Chicago Typewriter, I have to agree that the present day characters were a tad bit annoying but it was worth completing for the past life storyline. Their chemistry in the past was amazing.
I think I should be considered queen of drama dropping. I just checked and apparently I've dropped 79 dramas. Not to mention that half of the dramas I put on-hold are dramas that I probably would never get back to.
I am so in love with Yihwa. She is just amazing. Initially, I wasn't gonna watch Bad Romance but I might just give it a try for Yihwa. We seriously need more characters like her in dramaland. She is the best friend anyone can ever ask for.
Amazing drama from start to finish. I feel like this drama will probably influence me a lot in the future and the decisions I make. There was just so much to learn. One of my favourite dramas of the year 10/10 without any doubts.
Okay so I finally realized why the name Bong Bong sounded so familiar. There was this kids cartoon show called Tayo The Little Bus and there was a van called Bong Bong in it. Did the writer actually get it from there coz that's cute
