What kept us from hating Changge's uncle is that Li Shi Min's demeanour always stayed loving and humble and earnest. He had taught her everything she knew and it is clear that he hoped for her understanding if not forgiveness. Inevitably, the lessons paid off and Changge followed a path which was truly enlightening and the antithesis of the path that Princess Yi Cheng took. Li Shi Min was Changge's father/teacher but also her idol/hero. We, the viewers forgave LSM for the Xuanwu Gate incident and it shows how well written a character he is!

Absolutely! I'd be silently whispering each time uncle and niece met for Changge to be more forgiving and less hostile but that's what made the drama more interesting and deep. And How I hated Minister Du and Hao Du!

I agree with you and I felt so invested in the relationship that I couldn't wait for the misunderstanding between them to clear up miraculously, with all being forgiven and forgotten. I know that was impossible and the gradual, heart-searching compromise was more believable and more reasonable. This was such an important and central aspect of the story and it was heart-breaking how the dynamics of the relationship changed after Xuanwu Gate.

I had the same problem with CK though I like Ethan well enough but the story became overwhelmed by the rotten characters . The leads are an odd pairing I agree. I like Wallace from You Are My Sunshine and the FL is the Princess from Joy Of Life and a good actress. Sugar Daddy ( Is there a a more apt name?) pairings are not to my taste either but they are becoming more common and that is worrying. Edit: It's called a May and December pairing!

I know which one you mean and its a mature romance. I gave up on Cupid"s Kitchen after Ep17 due to all the negative comments on the page. I'm going to watch Netflix for a while and BBC; hopefully time will fly and we get TBW airing. I'll check the drama out though and see if it hooks me!
