just finished the novel.. not a big fan of the story. told from one sided view, i felt like there are emptiness…
That's unfortunate! As a big fan of the novel I hope I'll love the drama as well. There are plenty of engaging and intriguing elements in the novel to satisfy the Xuanhuan and Xanxia label, I wasn't bored reading it and events happened without a lull. The Prologue just hooked me in!
Not sure what you mean by one sided view; the novel is 3rd person (most popular POV) and the author has the main characters as the focus. Do you prefer the angle from a different Point Of View? Do you mean we should get into the heads of the the other characters like Shunde. Is the novel long enough for that?
Not sure what you mean by emptiness either but certainly your imagination is the limit. ( it's not as if its a real world that we already know and can imagine and is it even important to the story?) as for me, the gaps will be filled once the drama airs and I will enjoy comparing imagined scenes in my head with the Art Director's vision. Sorry if I misunderstood what you meant.
Glad you are enjoying it and also gave it max stars! Many of us were hooked too and watched it several times! With so many subtle actions the grassland hunk and the Tang princess mesmerised us with their deep and awe inspiring love! Agree with you that Dilraba aced this role.
What ep does FML finds out that ML is the one that shot her on the heart with an arrow? Spoilers pls
Ep 15. He misses her heart deliberately just to wound her and make her collapse. This is to lower the morale of the soldiers defending the Shuo State with her. When Changge opens the city gates and presents the head of the governor to Ashile Sun she recognises Mujin and suspects the identity of the Tejin who then takes off his mask to confirm her suspicions; he is of course none other than Mr Qin with whom she has has had many encounters previously.
I think she would look great in any era. I want to see her as the Mongolian kickass Princess or assassin. How…
That would be pretty extreme but if the character is fully fleshed out with a complete history then Reba with a twisted psyche is one I will definitely watch.
Do y'all know if the vid of BTS watching a Dilraba reel is real?
Some You Tubers did loads of these with BTS and got many views. There's one for Chen Hongyi (ice skater) and it's them in the same clothes and the exact same poses as for Dilraba. So more like a fake I'm afraid. Not related to BTS but there's one video stating that she has got married secretly!
Yes, a Republican era drama would be interesting and there's a lovely FMV going around with her and Yang Yang…
By the time I wrote 2 lines you wrote a hundred! Lol! I think Reba should experiment in the roles she chooses even if they could be seen as negative. What could damage her reputation is a badly written flop! This seems to be a worry about Ball Lightening by some observers. It worries me too. This is the first book by the author and is not as good as the sequel trilogy; his Wandering Earth had mixed responses too.

No, I agree she has to wear the costume 1st in order for a FMV to be made. I can't remember much bickering but I do think the consorts are quite lethal behind their false smiles and are constantly engaged in gaining the upper hand; their survival depends on it. Watching that sort of plot you might get fed up of the never ending intrigue but if Reba is the one instigating some dastardly deed I would be watching with bated breath . I feel that Reba hasn't had the opportunity to act in a broad range of roles (including Qing period) in her career; I wish she had been more prolific and adventurous but was that in her power? Variety in her repertoire is pretty slim. What do you think? Just visited a Reddit post asking whether Reba is typecast. I found this weird because I'd mentioned on The Blue whisper page how Reba acted differently for each role she undertook. There's a lot of dumb responses. Lol.

Reba's acting is up to it, whether she wants to or not depends on a good script. ( she may not have been offered such a script) I was thinking while watching Yanxi Palace; Reba would look good in this and why has she not appeared in such a drama! She will definitely look beautiful in whatever she wears but I've not seen her in a Qing period FMV; it's not as if she has to shave half her head and don a long pleat. Lol. (No male actor has suited that look in my opinion)
The Long Ballad would be the best drama to start with, because it is her most recent historical drama. You will…
I joined MDL on the TLB page too just like WK1 because of Reba. I also wanted to challenge all the spiteful and prejudiced comments about a hard working and talented actor. Fair and constructive criticism is different from blatant bias. Many commenters may have rallied to her defence for this reason alone and it helps to keep MDL a balanced and pleasant place to be.
I'm a sucker for historical dramas especially when Dilraba is hail to star in one. I've always wanted her t o…

For people who watched TMOPB, will there be any scenes/stories/arcs in this from TMOPB? I mean, is there any repetition…
Nope, no repetition of scenes. Can be watched alone or as a more in-depth account of one of the couples from TMOPB; you get a complete ending to the side couple's story in ELOD which did not happen in TMOPB. Yes, some characters have travelled over with more fleshed out roles too. Read some of the reviews above and comments below to get a more clear picture.
If you are interested in fantasy dramas only then try Love and Redemption, if not then try The Long Ballad; depending…
You may like The Long Ballad even though it's not fantasy but it has a good storyline and strong acting. The drama and the main FL were nominated for the Seoul International Drama Awards.
I watched this immediately after watching the prequel - Eternal Love - Hard to say which one I prefer, I adored…
If you are interested in fantasy dramas only then try Love and Redemption, if not then try The Long Ballad; depending on which actors you like in Eternal dream then some more suggestions can be made. Waiting for The Blue Whisper to air and it's the same director as this drama.
