The timing with him seeing her with another man and him asking for a marriage just shows AGAIN, for the people in the back thinking about how sad he was and how loved his wife... that he wanted to have another chance to make her miserable. So no "he was forced" makes sense. He buried her in the past and he would be ready to bury her again. Such a hateful villain (the actor did an amazing job!)

TBH I really don't think it was wasted, their chemistry is working so well, it's not a kiss that will make me change my idea. Romance is more than just kissing/hugging. They're showing love in so many other ways.

Btw in the brief moment where the emperor is talking to XH , the scene seemed almost cut it. I think in the next ep they'll be still there talking, and probably it will be the moment XH says Ali is not just a pawn and the emperor get angry? IDK

It's not that easy, it's more like when they become a married couple, without being an actual couple? LOL Btw they start having more interactions after ep 9. The focus is more on the "flirting" stage, than the actual romance as we are used to. They clearly like e/o tho and they're not scared to be upfront (both ML and FL leads). There's no misunderstandings or similar. So if you like this type of slow burn it's perfect, if you look for leads to be a couple from the start, it's not the case. Since you don't mind any spoiler, IMO they won't be an official couple till the last eps, because we're on 26 ep and they still need to resolve a lot of issues.
