I agree with you, people take ratings a little too close to heart sometimes and forget that dramas are watched for one's own personal enjoyment and also the fact that people's opinions do differ greatly. MDL is a website made for international watchers and their community in which values and levels of enjoyment vary very much from Chinese watchers (aka Douban ratings) so since ratings are different everywhere...people should just go off their own beliefs and stop relying on the 'complaining' and 'hating' in the comments about surface qualities of a drama. Try it if you want to, don't listen to other people then decide if you like it or not. You might be missing a gem for yourself just by relying on others' voices

Actually, MDL is not blocked by the Great Firewall currently, and I don't think it has been in the past year. Nobody really knows about its existence though because it is not suggested in search results or anything, but as long as you know the link you will be able to access it even without a VPN.
The fact that MDL and its ratings are normally very different from enjoyment levels in China however is very true. What we do on MDL will most likely never be largely known within China by both the netizens and the actors, and has almost no ability to affect anything happening here.

I understand what Gao Fan did but couldn't help feeling bad for Xiao Beike (idk what its translated as, little shelly?) but she's Gao Fan's kid, and when Gao Fan was telling her "Mom is going to a place far away" I couldn't help but feel the tears surface a little...that poor girl

I just finished watching this...I almost cried, but didn't actually. Maybe it's just me but half the time the characters were crying I just watched them cry. It didn't touch me that much but I don't cry too easily...idk how I feel honestly
The scenes disoriented me a little and the pacing was kind of messy, but it wasn't a bad movie.
It is supposed to be sad tho...so just get ready I guess
P.S the movie also incorporates some romance and male influence so it's not purely a girl power women's friendship story like it was advertised as, but is still a big part of it

Try as I might but I just can't bring myself to like or understand Ren Susu. At this moment I honestly hate her for what she's done half of which is unnecessary and full of failures.
This opinion will probably change in the future as the drama goes on and we see some of the bigger picture...but I can't sympathize with her as of now. Murong Qingyi should just let go and leave her to her own devices and her probable incoming death, judging by her plotting that always falls through. She chides him for never being able to be ruthless with her but girl are you not just letting him down one time, then another, and taking advantage of his feelings for you? She knows he wouldn't do anything to her and just provokes him more and more. Ren Susu, either go sacrifice yourself in one clean sweep for your orphanage goals or find another way and stop tormenting Murong Qingyi. You've done enough to him already.
