how nice it would have been if, during the open house episode, it was revealed that Wang Ziqi's family were Min…
Weibo might explode. But having Wang Zi Qi's real mom is equally cute and awesome! He turned into a little boy around her.

Lou is actually good at his job. That wasn't a small fire, but he lead the team by giving orders calmly, assessing…
Lou is still there because no one has reported him. He welcomed Liu and others to do so because he recognizes that is their right. However, the mature guys don't want to because they see the improvements. But if reported, he will face an investigation and consequences if deemed incompetent. Meng threatened him that he would be in trouble if his team wasn't chosen for the competition. He has been isolated by his friends for expressing his views from Episode 1. He is ostracized now because of his methods. He applied for a transfer which is admitting failure to Captain Meng, that must have been ego-busting and embarrassing. I don't know why you say he has no fall-out.

Also, have you watched episodes 27 & 28? He obviously is remorseful, has learned, has tried to make up for it. That's a good leader.

BTW dude, you are getting rude with your condescending tone. I don't think this conversation is worth continuing since you are actually talking to me like how Lou talked to the guys. Except that he has learned to change. Ironic.

The beam was not completely Lou's fault. Shi Quan decided to go in. ML decided to go after him. Shi Quan and Yi Jiu got into a fight. Shi Quan was good at drones. Yi Jiu was not. Yi Jiu felt insecure but that has been his personality from day 1. He was always the timid one, Shi Quan more confident. Lou gave Shi Quan the opportunity to be good at something. His method's fault was that it exposed more of Yi Jiu's natural insecurity, but this would have eventually come to a head some time.

Also, ML had Yang to temper his management. ML also had Lou to save him or else he would have been dead in the earth quake. ML had his time to adjust to being a leader with the help of Yang. How much time did he take to adjust, we don't know, but no one is born a leader. ML was also yelled at by Captain Meng for disregarding safety, so that is evidence that he also needed to learn. ML also made the mistake of taking the reality show actors to the factory. No, it is not his fault that the diva actor set fire, but he should have made sure the actors were never unsupervised. That was an oversight that almost cost lives. But that doesn't mean I believe ML should be punished, it is an example of how every leader can mistakes.

If you remove every leader that makes mistakes, you would have no leaders. Lou went up the ranks and one can say he chose a demotion from inspector to station master. He put in his dues. Lou made mistakes. I am not claiming that he is perfect. But within a relatively short time he has learned and brought innovation. He also has principles and skills that can't be taught.

Competition was the wrong method. He probably thought back to his military days, how can military guys be afraid of some competition? But these guys aren't in basic training.

I still maintain that the technology is a success because they were able to use it. People breaking down is a real concern, but after that stairwell incident, he did reflect. He talked to Meng and got Driver Fang a subsidy and time off with the family. He didn't even take credit for it.

So now, not only does he have technology, but give him a bit of time, he also has the emotional part down. He has the potential to be a great leader. He is the only one that tried to improve himself to study abroad. Being able to learn, to endure pressure from superiors, to withstand ridicule, to motivate (Qi Huo), to reflect, take responsibility, apologize and to change. Up to episode 29 Previews, he has done all this. That is why he and the ML are a great combo and why he is needed to improve the station.

By the way, for the ML's suspension, Lou was the one who defended him and did not think he should have been punished. He has been looking out for the ML from day 1. It may seem antagonistic with how coldly he says it, but everything he said was advice and turned out to be true. The station was stagnant, the ML also needed to get in touch with his Instructor side, Lou needed to learn to be less rigid. Every character needed each other in order to be better.

I don't understand why you said he failed to introduce technology. Weren't all the firefighters using his technology? What is to follow up? They used it, today, they used it well, that is the follow up.

I agree that is a failure about relationships. But he is not a failure at technology. Even the ML praised him for that. I edited my post, but I meant to say that this technology would have saved Yang's leg. The drone fire bomb that the young guy successfully used in today's mission.

He didn't fail to introduce technology. I was so worried about the characters, so it took me a second time to appreciate all the details of the fire rescue in Episode 27. Watch it again. He had his team report to him the situation with cameras so that he can see all that is happening. He used the drones, which is a completely new technology to the team, to immediately locate the victims. They didn't waste time, which prevents injury and death for both the victims and firefighters. The drones would have been very useful during Nan Chu's rescue at the factory warehouse. Then, because the team had trouble advancing, he had the drones drop fire bombs in the largest areas. The fire bombs would have saved Yang's leg because he wouldn't have needed to climb up the tower. All these are new things that Lou took the initiative to study abroad to learn, request and fight for funding, and then teach his team. That is not a failure.

Liu and Lin reported to him, and each step, he was decisive and never frazzled. He was in complete control of the situation. He even told his team good work and praised them appropriately.

You can say he is emotionally stunted and cold, but you can't say he isn't good at putting out fires. He saved lives today and in the future because they will use what he taught them to fight fires in a smarter, more effective, and safer way.

I don't understand their attitude towards Lou Ming Ye, especially considering what was shown in the first part…
Lou is actually good at his job. That wasn't a small fire, but he lead the team by giving orders calmly, assessing the situation methodically, and deploying his technology (cameras, thermal drones, fire bomb drones) perfectly to precisely locate and save victims and put out the fire quickly, with the least manpower and danger to the firefighters. It was well coordinated and he gave his team positive reinforcement. He has responsibility in what happened after, but it wasn't completely his fault because he can't control the emotions of the young guys. Those guys screwed up under Lin too.

Lou felt pressured to train people quickly because he is the only one that worries for firefighters' lives. He was successful in implementing those tools in a very short time, but failed at people management. He has high standards for himself so mistakenly thought everyone is capable like him. He is a complete jerk for that. Luckily, he's able to learn and reflect because his intentions have always been sincere .

Lou Ming Ye and Lin Lu Xiao were sooooooo funny and cute in that elevator scene. You can tell that they were good friends back then but grew apart due to a difference in opinions. He is innovative and wants to protect people his way. Lou Ming Ye was so gentle with Instructor Yang. They were all brothers and there is still underlying respect. Really looking forward to seeing them get closer again.

Dropped at Ep 24. I stopped when they got back together. Too much of business meetings & discussions. Not enough…
There is the sexual harassment plot, but all the romance happen after they get together from 23/24 on. More flirting and kissing. I skip the other characters' scenes.

First episode, Wang Ziqi is so funny. He has this ability to shape distinct characters in each drama. If anyone knows when/where English subs are available, please share. Thank you!
