I think that was her insecurity and not purposeful manipulation. She is still reeling from when he went missing for those excruciating few minutes. But I do hate the typical drama formula of unnecessary angst and misunderstanding in the middle. Hope this gets cleared up soon and we get back to the sweetness. We were just starting to see it. I especially love their mature, bare-all quiet conversations. That's something rare in these shows.
Superficial comment. The fashion here is so much better than their last series. FL's sharp work outfits look feminine but powerful. ML is born to wear suits and blue shirts. And angry panda shirts, lol.

If you liked the couple in the short version, perhaps watch the series because you get a lot more of their cute and fun interactions. There are more times he looks at her with these dreamy eyes. He confesses that he likes her when she was sleeping and that's not in the short version. There are other quite funny scenes missing.
I fast forward the second couple and some annoying SFL/SML parts. But the gradma, mothers, and especially assistant are worth watching too. The drama isn't too long when you watch like that.

Episodes 24-26 ish is when he apologizes to her and has the most lovely confession. WZQ's acting is subtle, the details are there, especially his eyes. But I get it, a lot of dramas don't work for me and best to move on since life is too short if the entertainment doesn't click.

For example, the Chu dog that was mentioned in Episode 1 was later seen and utilized. This breed is specific to that region. The cakes that Jin Yu had Jing Yi stop to buy later helped him pin point the restaurant owner's location. The expressions on the actor's faces, the lines, each action, there are no throwaway fillers. I feel like I need to watch again to catch things I overlooked.
