Otherwise the lighting, the distance, the movements that showed that she was trying to give CPR to a prone individual and the running off to a pharmacy for some strange reason only to find the person gone when she came back does not make any sense.

They could have just had 2 cops show up in the background as those 2 were in the middle of confronting the detective and cut away. We would have known he got arrested.

In my opinion, if the writers wanted to present a redemption of SY, which viewers could get behind, they should have started the redemption arc many episodes ago.
