how does it relate to the 2004 version? is it straight remake or a continuation? Do I need to watch the other…
The 2004 version is better imo. Some things make more sense and it's tough to beat Yonekura Ryoko in a role of a strong and wicked woman. This drama was the starting point of her now successful career. I like the supporting cast of the 2004 version better, too.
Takei Emi does a great job, though. I couldn't picture her in this role at all, but she surprised me a lot. Small changes in the plot (character motivations). Vague but interesting ending. I'd have to rewatch the 2004 version to find out how much of a difference the changes really make.
The 2004 is hard to find and there are no English subs afaik, so I'd recommend watching the 2017 version at least. It's great on its own. If you find it and don't need English subs, watch the 2004 version first.
Such a wonderful drama! Hopefully a second season or special is in the making or planned, definitely set up for…
I was confused at first as well when I watched it live on TV. They pretty much leave it up to the viewer to decide what exactly happened, but the consensus among Japanese viewers is that she had it indeed get stolen on purpose. I had to rewatch it a few times for the subbing process and... I agree with them.
New cast announced: Ishiguro Ken and Nakao Akiyoshi as husbands for Hirosue Ryoko and Honda Tsubasa, respectively. Gin Puncho as the latter's mother/mother-in-law. Kurashina Kana to guest in ep1 as a woman suffering from domestic violence.
I hope her career is intact after this news. Despite the contracts and everything, no woman should be severely…
Her agency already denied such penalties a long time ago. Japan Entertainers' Rights Association also published an interesting comment about all this. It's just gossip magazines blowing things out of proportions as usual.
A fusion of a family drama and an action drama by Kaneshiro Kazuki, the same guy who came up with "SP", "BORDER" and "CRISIS". They even got the stunt coordinator from "CRISIS". This is gonna be crazy. I can't wait for Ayase to kick some ass and since I enjoyed subbing "CRISIS" plus I'm curious to see were Kaneshiro is going with this, I'm most likely going to sub this drama as well.

It's a different adaptation of the same source material, so no need to watch the 2004 version for the storyline. The 2004 version is a quality drama in itself, though.
Great show! Didn't expect for Takei Emi to do her job as good as Yonekura Ryoko did in 2004, but she's…
In case you don't check d-addicts fansub map... I will. Just finishing up the last ep of another drama, then I can start working on this one. I might be done with the first ep as early as this weekend, worst case next weekend.
Great show!
Didn't expect for Takei Emi to do her job as good as Yonekura Ryoko did in 2004, but she's surprisingly good in this role. So far it's probably the best drama of this year's summer season. I'm tempted to sub this drama if nobody else does, because it would be a shame if people missed out on this due to the lack of English subtitles.
