Just finished watching the series and I enjoyed it. But, is it just me or the ending feels kinda rush? And I still think that they should have just stay true to the novel. It would have been better if they don’t change much and just do it as it is. I understand that in a novel adaptation changes have to be made, but in this case it’s unnecessary. The director and screenwriter is very new to this kind of genre and this is their first bl so it’s understandable that they are not really familiar with the formula on how bl series work. I hope GMM give Pond and Phuwin another bl series, because I need more of them. They make this series bearable to watch for me.

The Mork-Pi relationship has become more interesting to me as the series comes to an end. It feels like the story…
Actually Louis the actor who play Meen is not in the original cast of this series. In an interview the director said that the original pairing for this series is Pond and Winny (the actor who play Koh, one of the Kitty gang) then Neo and Phuwin. Winny supposed to play Pi but the director said that he can’t feel chemistry between Pond and Winny so they do another recast where they shuffle the pair and by that they saw chemistry between Pond and Phuwin. I think Phuwin was supposed to play Meen in the original casting.

I've lost patience with this series. It's just going in circles.First, the voiceovers need to stop. If you don't…
I agree that the flow is a messed. It’s a fault from the screenwriter and director, this is their first bl. And they change a lot from the source material, they even change how some characters are supposed to be. If they just follow how the turn of events happened in the novel it will be better. There’s a lot of unnecessary additions that made the flow so messy. But to be fair with Pi’s character having inner thoughts most of the time. He is like that in the novel, he has a lot of thoughts that were not said, it’s all in his head. It’s like he always talk to himself in his head. And regarding his insecurities, yeah they are dragging it too much.

I'm not sure I would have liked Bam as the main conflict, but it would have made more sense than the way they…
Bam’s storyline in the first version of the novel is actually good. It's a better plot for the conflict. She help Mork to make Pi jealous. She is very helpful at first but later revealed that she is plotting something and that made Pi really hurt. That plot in the novel is very well written.

Oh no! They should have do the Bam storyline as the main conflict. It’s better rather than this Pi’s character assassination plot that they did. The only reason Pi don’t like to announce their relationship is because of the shipper and has nothing to do with what people will say. They ruined Pi’s character in this series. Mork’s birthday is one of the main event in the novel where they will announce their relationship. I’m kinda disappointed. I think they will rush the ending next week.

Golf is smart for the way the poster of the series is set up. Putting Duen and Pi on one side and Meen and Mork…
Meen and Mork? Are they siblings in the series? In the novel they are cousins.

could you tell us more about the novel? I would like to know how things went there and how the characters are…
Ah. I have a copy of the first version of the novel. My mother is Thai so I can read and understand Thai. Maybe they will release english translated version of the novel just like what they did with other Jittirain’s novel. But I think they will do the 2nd version. There is 2 version of the novel, I don’t know what is the difference between the two version because I haven’t read the 2nd version yet.

How different is the series and the novel?
Yes, I understand that changes is needed and some of the changes actually work like the inclusion of the family and Wan. But most of the changes were made just for the comedy and to stretch the series. As a series yeah it’s okay, I just need to set aside my love for the novel when I’m watching because I get really frustrated.

They changed and add a lot of scene in the series so it’s very different from what I pictured it to be. Character wise, Pi is mostly the same except he is not that stubborn, he actually let Mork easily in his life in the novel. He also move on after the rejection from Nan and he don’t feel anything about it. And he is not that loner in the novel he has a friend name Pear. Mork is also similar but he is not that pushy, he is more calm and he did all his plan seamlessly. Muang Nan I like him more in the series than in the novel. Bam is not that comical in the novel, she is classy and elegant and kinda arrogant in a good way. The kitty gang is a squad goal they are the superstar. I don’t like the kitty gang in the series. There’s a lot of changes that I cant point them out one by one, because completely it’s different. All I can say is if you read the novel you will be disappointed of how the series turned out. But if you only look at the series and completely forgot about the novel, the series is okay as it is.

Ok here are my thoughts on the last episode:- I hate public confessions/declarations of love/wedding proposals,…
I like your theory. You have a big brain right there.

How different is the series and the novel?
The idea of the story is the same. But if you compare the storyline of the novel and the series it’s like more or less there’s only 35% similarities. There’s a lot of changes like they removed important side characters from the novel. They change how some event supposed to happened and also they changed how some characters act like example Muang nan, the shipper, the kitty gang and Bam they are not like that in the novel. For me changes are okay but I hope it’s for the better. In the case of this series I think the changes were made just for the comedy and to stretch the series to make it longer.

I feel very frustrated right now. I think people who doesn’t read the novel is very lucky at this point. I’m very angry and frustrated and very very disappointed of what the director and screenwriter did to this series. This is my favorite novel! I love Phuwin and Neo. And I’m starting to like Pond too. But I’m sad that this is not the story that I fell in love. This is just not it!

What are some of the changes they made?
In addition to this, from the very beginning there’s a lot of changes that’s been made. From Pi’s make over and his first appearance after that, and how the Kitty gang and Muang Nan were supposed to be, and the blind in love party. There’s a lot of changes that I think will be better if they just follow how it is in the novel. And some unnecessary scene should have not been added just for the conflict.

I agree some scenes are appearing randomly without build ups. The things they nailed doing are the product placements…
Yeah it’s because they have a lot of changes and add ons and they stretched a lot of scene, I’m scared that they will rush the ending. I agree about the product placement they already perfected it after doing it in every series they have. They are getting very creative with it to be honest.
On Fish upon the Sky May 22, 2021
I’m having a love/hate relationship with this series. I love it because it’s very funny and I just love Pond and Phuwin and Neo. But as a fan of the Novel, I hate that they took a different route. I understand that they cannot really follow the novel word by word, but they should have follow the same phase as the novel because their phasing is so frustrating like what supposed to happen is not happening.

I feel the chemistry from Mork, but not Pi. And I also don't see why Mork would like a rude and whiney little…
Yeah, he is more like able in the novel. Hahaha. But Phuwin really fit the Pi character it’s just that the writing made him very rude to people around him. The scene with the mother don’t even happened in the novel I wonder why they put that scene in the series. In the novel everyone is supportive, no homophobia at all.

We are already in episode 6 when they decided to develop Pi’s feeling for Mork its should be done in episode…
You have a point. But this director and his team has history of stretching scenes in every series by adding unnecessary plots then rushing everything in the end.

Loved this episode. Love how this episode really knocks some sense into Pi about his feelings for Mork and how…
We are already in episode 6 when they decided to develop Pi’s feeling for Mork its should be done in episode 4 but they put so much unnecessary things in each episode. But it’s better late than never. Hahaha. Anyway I think Pi is not really obsessed with Nan. In my opinion Nan is what Pi wanted to be. He saw the person that he wanted to be in him that’s why he thought he like him in romantic way.

I think you are putting Mork’s character in the pedestal. As far as I love this story and I’m a MorkPi fan. I think Mork’s character is far from being awesome, I mean his behavior is borderline creepy to be honest. But people are over looking it because of his visual.

I think you don’t see the chemistry because the hate on the character over shadowed it. To be fair, in the novel Pi and Mork don’t really have a chemistry at first. I remember when I started reading it I was shipping Mueng nan and Pi. But along the way the chemistry shifted to MorkPi. It’s because of how Mork’s plan unfolds and Pi’s feelings build up. I think in the series Mork’s plan is not that evident compare to the novel and the confession is put too early in the episode. I still blame it in bad directing and writing. They should just stay true to the novel.
