P.S. Pobmek is not going to be with Sun. Sun and Solar are separate characters. Solar is an adult in a long term…
Right. Their situation isn't that different than a couple where one person has dementia. The other person doesn't break up with them if they love each other.

In the times where they become like another person, their spouse doesn't abandon them, they deal with it and take care of the person they love.

Too many BL fans have been conditioned to think love is simple and easy like in a fairytale. Two boys fall in love and stay happy together forever. But real relationships aren't simple, there are ups and downs.

P.S. Pobmek is not going to be with Sun. Sun and Solar are separate characters.

Solar is an adult in a long term relationship with Pobmek. Sun is a child. Pobmek is staying with/ emotionally supporting his boyfriend as he tries to heal from an injury. Staying with someone through good times and bad times is what most people hope for in a relationship.

Please don't make it weird by creating subtext that isn't there.

I can't wait to see episode 2!!!

*sigh* my most anticipated series ever and the premiere isn't avaliable in my country. GMMTV never fails to disappoint. But I can wait, I know it will be worth it 🖤🤍

I've never loved a trailer so much. I felt all of the emotions in 3 minutes. There aren't many BLs about established couples and there aren't many BL pairs that have the acting skills and chemistry of PerthSanta. I already know this series will be extremely special.

I'm so glad it's airing Saturdays!

This is easily one of the best Thai BLs I've seen in years. I'm pretty sure if the story was exactly the same but it was made by GMMTV or DMD with well known actors, it would be rated at least and 8.5.

High school BLs usually fit into a formula and that can feel boring after a few episodes. This show has what you'd expect, music, an unreasonable controlling parent, rich kids, poor kids, and a girl who gets in the way of the gay romance. But unlike with most series that only give you surface level character development, this show dives deeper and makes you care about all of the kids.

It also used time travel in a way to progress the plot, without relying on it to solve all the character's problems. And I thought the leads had one of the best (most believable/realistic) first kisses I've seen in a high school BL. Overall, for me this was a solid 9. The GL was limited, but I loved it. The main couple never made me question why they liked/loved each other. Most of the adult characters were fantastic. The 90s setting wasn't too in your face, but showed how life for LGBTQ+ people was different back then.

The only reason I'm not rating it a 9.5 or 10 is because the third couple started strong and then fizzled. Their conclusion felt rushed and incomplete. But I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes high school BLs.
On Blood Fighters Jan 16, 2026
This wasn't bad. But if I ignored about 30 seconds of screentime, I'd be conviced that this was about a guy and his little brother and they're aspiring boxers. Which is fine, but I never felt invested in the characters or story.

I aree with the TawanAran story. He did all that and got a slap on the wrist. That was bs but thee and peach had…
I've always loved PondPhuwin. And Thee is definitely my favorite Pond character so far, but Peem (from We Are) will always hold a special place in my heart for Phuwin.

I'm not a fan of lakorns, but I'm glad I watched this one and I can see why so many people love the series. I watched it because I've been a fan of Peak since Make it Right and his pairing with Pearl is by far my favorite of all his ships. I also thought this series had some of the best side female characters I've ever seen in a BL. I adored Grandma, Homthip, Songswat and Rachawadi.

This show does a great job showing how things used to be for straight women and LGBTQ+ people and few options they had back then. Obviously things aren't perfect now, but at least in Thailand, some progress has been made and I'm grateful for that.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes lakorn BLs. And I hope PearlPeak get cast as leads in another series soon.

If the target audience for most GMMTV series wasn't younger people, I probably wouldn't be so irritated by what they chose to do with TawanAran. But having your audience sit through months of completely toxic behavior that culminated with a big "break up" last week and then giving them this "happy ending" this week feels so wrong and unnecessary.

Why do the writers think that after a few days of being poor and doing nothing to redeem himself or show Aran that he's changed, that Tawan should get exactly what he's always wanted? He wanted to be with Aran and now Aran can't escape him because THEY LIVE TOGETHER!

But even worse than that they thought it was ok for Aran to offer to prostitute himself to "save" a man who isn't even his boyfriend and made his life miserable for a long time. How is that sweet, romantic or ok in any way? That feels tragic and sad to me. And is that really a good lesson to teach an audience full of people who have never been in a relationship? I don't think so, again this messaging feels VERY problematic to me.

In fairytales, "happily ever after" pretty much means, nothing bad ever happened to the couple again. But most people realize that the last page/line of a story does not freeze the characters in place for eternity. Does anyone truly believe the Tawan of this series will not revert back to his toxic, possessive ways in days, weeks or months or that Aran won't be miserable again? Being together is not always a happy ending!!

I love PerthSanta, but without a time jump and character growth, this show has given me no reason to support or enjoy this ending for TawanAran. I truly believe that the writers might have been more willing to have the characters end up apart if other actors were in these roles. I don't blame PerthSanta for that decision at all. I blame a company and writing team that has shown us over and over that they are unwilling/unable to tell well-written complex stories with imperfect characters.

And to all the people saying, "this ending is better than the book", I am not comparing the show to the book. You do not have to read a book to comment on a show that is based on the book. The series has not been a shot for shot remake of the book and it shouldn't be. Also, the original author clearly understands her characters better than the GMMTV writing team do, because Tawan didn't get a "happy ending" handed to him after just a few days of not being rich in the book.

Title The Bangkok Boy Spoiler
I know a lot of people don't trust MDL ratings, but unless it's a show with an inflated rating because of a really…
I was really invested for the first half of the series. Even without ANY romance, the world they created was interesting and felt realistic, so I was rooting for Sun and his friends/family. The villains' motivations were logical and it was building towards something.

But after Madame Yao and Aim died, it felt like all the momentum disappeared. I didn't like either character, but they were people that I liked seeing the Bangkok Boys fight against. Joe and his sons were much less interesting to me. That's probably because I've seen too many BLs with an unreasonable antigay parent who spends too much of their time focused on controlling their son's life. The gang premise made this slightly unique that kind of character, but overall, Joe's obsession with making his sons miserable got old quickly. And watching Joe be treated like a super villain for most of the series was laughable since his weaknesses were obvious early in the series.

But I really did like most of Sun's friends, the barista uncle, Cherry and Jinny. They were what kept me from dropping this when everything else got irritating. Everytime the gang had a mission or when they went to the cafe, those scenes resonated with me.

My issue with the series besides it's unlimited supply of villains and silent easily beatable henchmen, was the main characters. Sun was too dumb to lead and didn't realize it until it was too late. Peace was a damsel with a black belt who spent most of his screentime crying and needing to be rescued. Mei was EXTREMELY sympathetic, but later became insufferable. Yelling at Jinny and screaming whenever things got difficult. I wanted to like her, but I felt like she got way too much screentime. And in the end, there were ZERO consequences for everybody.

Overall, there was no character development for anyone. There was drama, action and LOTS of "twists", but when there are more than 5 double crosses or reveals, it makes me think the writers lost the plot. I thought Nap was the most intriguing character for most of the series, but his ending was as basic and unfinished as the rest of the characters. Watching fight after fight when you know none of the named characters will die felt tedious. Watching gay and lesbian couples get together with almost no emotions, no love, with one sex scene (I don't think more sex scenes would have improved the show) and some kisses felt bland at best. Pulling in a BL audience and then showing almost no romance is one way to ensure your series bombs and that's clearly what happened with this series.

It's unfortunate because this had a pretty unique premise when compared to other Thai BLs, but the areas where it was lacking overshadowed what could have been a great series. I don't think it's bad and I would recommend it to someone looking for an action BL with limited BL. But I also don't think it needs a second season unless they bring in new writers who can tell a strong and compelling story from start to finish, even if the BL aspects are limited.
On The Bangkok Boy Jan 7, 2026
I know a lot of people don't trust MDL ratings, but unless it's a show with an inflated rating because of a really popular ship, I usually agree with the MDL rating of BLs after the show finishes airing. In this era where every series gets labeled a "masterpiece" by a vocal minority of viewers who comment, I tend to agree with the silent majority who rate series but don't comment.

I think if this was marketed as an action series and not a BL, I would have given it a higher rating. But this is a BL and the BL aspects were very lacking. And one sex scene doesn't change that. I'm going to leave a spoiler comment below. If anyone does decide to watch it, I recommend avoiding spoilers. I think the biggest strength of the series is not knowing what will happen next (even though a lot of parts are predictable).

I know some people on here are hoping for a season 2. It's hard to imagine that happening when the socials and season 2 MDL page for the series have so few followers. Many series promise a season 2, but there are A LOT that never get the funding. I won't be surprised if that happens in this case too.

Yeah, that threw me, especially cause he later says he would never force someone...but he did. They never indicate…
I appreciated the comments above, but I knew as soon as I saw that scene that the series was a permanent drop for me. If this was 10 years ago when there were barely 2 BLs airing at the same time, I might have stuck with it, but there are BLs on all the time now. I feel like if I have a strong aversion to a series, that I should just drop it and move on.

Rape is real and I don't think it should be excluded from popular media, but watching it pretty much take over yaoi and start to creep into BL is kinda infuriating. Some fans seem to think fictionalized rape of men is nbl or that it's ok if the people are written to fall in love later, but I STRONGLY disagree with both perspectives. I won't say that's what happened in this series, since I didn't watch it. But I left my comment on this page to help anyone who would have benefited from a trigger warning before they watched it since the majority of comments are praising the series and ignoring the rape. It's a shame that MDL doesn't have a rape or sexual assault tag, but that's a different issue.

I love watching REALLY poorly made BLs. Every year I search for the absolute worst one. For 2025 it was easy because I stumbled on this series and got to see the worst BL of 2025 in less than 2 hours.

There's so much I could say about the ways this didn’t work, but others have already covered them. But I hope future BL crews watch this just to see what not to do. The only positive thing I can say about the series is the thing that made me most frustrated while watching it. The leads have solid chemistry (shown only in the later episodes) and obviously tried to convey a genuine love between the characters. Unfortunately for the actors and audience, EVERYONE behind the camera failed.

I can't wait for the second season. I'm sure it will be filled with endless music, random pointless dialogue, kisses that look like the seme is trying devour the uke's entire face and LOTS of plants!
On A Perfect Match Jan 1, 2026
If you like bad BLs, this is a must watch. Nonsensical from start to finish, basic acting, no script, stuff just happens to fill time, but there's abs!! The episodes are barely 8 minutes and most of the dialogue is ridiculous, but it's not unwatchable, because there's abs!!! Abs, face wash, makeup, hair care treatments and luggage are all this "series" is selling. Idk how they got so many sponsors, idk why anyone agreed to "act" in this, idk what I just watched, but I was mildly entertained so I won't give it a 1/10.
On Perfect 10 Liners Dec 31, 2025
It's the last day of 2025 and I'm back to celebrate my all-time favorite pair PerthSanta and the characters that brought them together. I'm not sure how many times I've watched episodes 9-16 (and their scenes in 17-24), but each time I love it.

Yes, Yotha was a walking red flag and Gun was pushover. And this is yet another Thai BL set in college with engineering students. But for me it works. Their chemistry is perfect and watching them fall in love and stay in love over time was wonderful. I've seen hundreds of BLs and usually they end soon after the couples get together. I'm so glad we got to see their relationship progress in the latter parts of the show. Those extra scenes will always be some of my favorites 🖤🤍
