I didn't watch the trailer, so I didn't know what to expect. I finished the first episode on 2x speed. I won't write my initial thoughts because someone will get mad (people always get mad about honest opinions on Thai BLs on MDL these days). And since already know I won't be watching this, there's no point in arguing.
I hope everyone who watches it, enjoys the series. It's avaliable on youtube for free.
This could have been a good BL if it aired 5 years ago, but in 2025 it feels like a tourist brochure for Northern Thailand masquerading as a BL. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I expect the couple in a BL to fall in love and have some romanctic moments and even a kiss before the very last moments of the series. It feels like the writer and/or actors did everything they could to avoid having the characters get close. They were like bros for most of the series. Once they finally started to like each other the show was over.
Overall, the positives are the gorgeous cinematography and series length. If you're bored, it can fill a few hours. But there isn't much to remember once it's over. I didn't think the ending was sad, it was obvious from the start that they wouldn't end up together.
Most series don't live up to their hype, but this one completely did. Of the dozens of GMMTV series that I've seen, this is definitely the best written one. The story was interesting from start to finish, the characters (including the side characters) were fully fleshed out. I cared about the kids, Jan and Sung. The bromance had stronger chemistry than you see from the vast majority of BL couples. I'm looking forward to Sky and Nani's next series. I really hope this writing team gets A LOT more work soon. This was 100% a 10/10 for me.
The first episode was fine. The characters felt like the same ones from Cutie Pie, but the series clearly has a bigger budget. I always watch Mandee shows with very low expectations so this was ok for me.
I binged this after watching P'New's (one of the screenwriter's) latest series. I started it because I love the…
It felt like the writers didn't understand the characters, their motivations or think the audience could appreciate complex characters. Most of the characters were completely one dimensional and the multi-dimensional characters suffered the most for no real reason.
IMO the only jinxs were the dad and Rung. From the beginning the dad made his family miserable and Rung caused problems for every person she met. Both characters were unwilling to take ownership of any of their mistakes. Rung's parent and the mom were only slightly better. The mom had no backbone and only defended her child one time years too late. She let her husband destroy the family and did nothing. Rung's parents had no agency and let their daughter run around the city and cause problems without saying a word.
Ohm and Perth are fantastic actors. But Win barely had anything to do besides be angry, irrational and stupid. Korn was pitiful, victimized and too noble. He was so flawless that it was impossible to stay invested. Everything that led up to the first shooting, then the car chase, the car accident and all the other contrived moments were so ridiculous and nonsensical that I spent the majority of the series scratching my head. Stunned that the writers thought people these stupid and self sabotaging characters were worth 12 episodes. The story could have been wrapped up in 6 episodes and then MAYBE all the good characters wouldn't have had to suffer.
But honestly the good characters were so great that part of me fell in love with the series. Li was the best!!!! She was the only rational person in the family in the beginning and the only one that was there for Korn when it mattered. Ah was as good as her and he was a Thai robin hood. Their relationship was one of the best I've seen on tv. I stuck with the series praying that they'd get a happy ending, but writers couldn't even bother to give us that. Mek's death was cruel, but killing Ah and having Li spend her life alone raising their son felt spiteful. Uncle Wit was also a great and complex character. I really loved him.
In the end, there was a wonderful story here about a guy who turned to life of crime to save his dying father. Then his father disowned him. He sold drugs, but also gave back to his community. One day, he was saved by a homeless kid and decided to take the kid in and teach him the business. The kid's older sister showed up to check on her brother and the two slowly fell in love. Later he decided to leave the life of crime and he and his father reconciled. That story would have been fantastic, but the jinxs had to ruin everything!!!! I wish Foei and Baitoei could work together again. And get more than about 20 minutes of total screen time together. Foei has done some really bad things in the past, but he is a VERY talented actor.
I like Film a lot, but the show would have been so much better without her character and the stupid love triangle that the writers forced on everyone. I sorta regret watching this, but it was great seeing strong performances from some actors and it was nice seeing the few nice brotherly moments between Ohm and Perth.
By the time the show ended, I was mostly checked out. Rung and the dad didn't deserve redemption. They caused so much damage that I wished they both disappeared. With all the people who died, seeing Win be the only one to have to pay for his crimes felt like a sick joke. And since they never explained why he killed anybody it felt like a convenient way to give Rung another life to ruin. Mek, Ah, Li and Uncle Wit deserved better writers.
Sorry for the very long rant a year later, but this show was a lot to sit through.
I binged this after watching P'New's (one of the screenwriter's) latest series. I started it because I love the 3 leads. I ended up sticking with it only because of the side characters. The acting was solid, but the writing missed the mark in nearly every way. This series had the potential to be one of the best Thai series ever, but overall, I was stunned and disappointed from start to finish. I think it's obvious that some people should stick to BL and not try to make lakorns.
I'm leaving a spoiler comment below because I think the series is much better if you don't know what will happen.
New's series are usually hit or miss with me. It's crazy to me that the same guy that directed UWMA also did Make…
I think there are many factors that make a show what it is. For someone with a career that's lasted as long as P'New's, it's impossible not to have some great/good/bad/terrible series. But he's also directed some of the most famous BLs of all time.
I didn't love Make It Right, but it's 9 years old and was the first series of my favorite actor Ohm. So it will always have a special place in my heart because of that. And since so many of my favorite Thai actors got their starts in his series, he will always be a director whose series I look forward to. I thought We Are was better overall than Perfect 10, because the characters in that story felt more connected and each couple had something to do throughout the series. I thought this show's format was similar to Fourever You (Wabi Sabi), which I also loved because of Bas and Maxky. But the main couple in that series was weak and lacked the chemistry that GMMTV couples usually have.
Either way, I loved all 3 series, but Perfect 10 stands out for me because of the great acting from PerthSanta. I think you and I agree that great acting is important. There have been countless BLs with newbie actors or experienced actors who couldn't effectively portray their characters and those shows are never as good for me as the ones with great acting. For the most part, college/high school BLs all have the same script, but acting can make or break a series. Both Perth and Santa proved their acting abilities years ago and I'm grateful that they got paired together and we all got to see them give stellar performances in this series.
I've seen nearly all of GMMTV's BLs and all of the BLs directed by P'New. I almost never get really invested in a series or rewatch a series over and over again. But that's how I feel about this series. For me, it was super special and wonderful!
I think P'New's directing has gotten better over his last 3 series. And I think GMMTV is doing a great job with BLs with large ensemble casts these days. That's really hard to pull off, but I think having 6 couples made it easy for all viewers to find something to enjoy/connect with. I also loved the writing. The connections/interactions between core characters made me like this series more than I have other BLs with similar themes.
I know this will be one of my favorites from 2025, but it will be one of my all time favorites because of PerthSanta. Everyone was good, all of the stories were cute, but YothaGun stole my heart and kept it from start to finish. Every smile, tear, laugh, hug and kiss elevated the show and made me want to watch these two on a loop. If I were only rating the series based on their story, it would easily be a 10/10. I'm completely biased though. PerthSanta are my favorite BL actors these days and I can't wait to see more from them. I also loved AouBoom and think Arm was the best P' in the series!! I don't think it was perfect, but overall the show was soooooooo great!
Only good one after unknown was See you love, but even that one didn’t give me the same feelings as Unknown…
I'm starting to feel like I'm the only BL fan that hasn't watched Secret Relationship yet. Everyone keeps saying it's great, so I need to make time to watch it. IMO these days it's harder for me to say any country makes "good" BLs or any country makes "bad" BLs. I've seen great BLs from Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam and even countries that have only made 1 or 2 BLs. But I've also seen awful BLs made in those countries.
These days, I'm trying to judge each series on its own merits and not consider the country as much as I used to. Some of my favorite BLs so far this year have been Thai, which I would have thought would be impossible even a year ago. Overall, I hope BL improves everywhere, but some companies seem to be trying a lot harder than others.
Only good one after unknown was See you love, but even that one didn’t give me the same feelings as Unknown…
I completely forgot about See Your Love. That one was pretty good, but also kinda forgettable. I really hope we get some good or great TBLs in 2025. Taiwanese BLs have always been among the best when they make an effort, it's sad to see how the quality has diminished over time.
I hope everyone who watches it, enjoys the series. It's avaliable on youtube for free.

I also fell hard for Santa, he was the heart of the series for me. And him and Perth made a typical series something I'll love forever.
