I think I'm finally understanding why we see the shows sooooo differently. SOTUS and Addicted are my favorite series. Everything you listed as a negative I see as a positive and I don't think Gu Hai is the problem. I understand why many people do and I'm cool with that. I think we're pretty lucky though, you love AePete just like I love Kongpob and Arthit and Hai and Yin. I'm just glad all three shows exist.

Gu Hai and Bai Luo Yin talk about their issues and come to a resolution, An Zi Yan and Mai Ding talk about their issues and come to a resolution, Shu Nian and Xie Yan talk about their issues and come to a resolution, Kao and Pete talk about their issues and come to a resolution, Kongpob and Arthit talk about their issues and come to a resolution. I could go on, but it happens a lot, most shows/have drama in between conflict and resolution, but that is basic storytelling. I'm not sure how AePete discussing their issues makes them unique.

I'm pretty any answer I give will not satisfy you, but for me the couple is very forgettable. They met fell in love (just like every BL or romantic story ever), they stared at each other a lot (just like nearly every BL or romantic story ever), there was drama with Pete's bully (a main character getting beat up to cause conflict happens in a lot of stories, for example: Together With Me, Like Love, Irresistible Love, Advance Bravely, I could go on), Ae was always really possessive ( this also happens a lot in these types of stories, for example: Addicted, Together With Me, Irresistible Love, A Round Trip to Love, Kiss:The Series again I could go on), Chompoo was there for conflict about whether or not Ae should be with a girl, (this happens in nearly every BL series, for example: Cause You're My Boy, Grey Rainbow, History: Obsessed, Beloved Enemy (bromance), The Lover and all of the other shows I've already listed.

I'm guessing there are things about AePete that you find special and unique that I didn't and that's fine. I don't think it's the end of the world for me not to connect with a couple that you did.

I should have stopped watching after episode 4, how did it get so bad so quick? Idk if it's based on a novel, but good writers, directors, editors and a sound design are important to a series. Actors can only do so much with crappy material.

Thank you for all of that information. I try to avoid reading things about what goes on behind the scenes of shows I watch, I don't want that to change my impression of the show.But I think in this case it would help make the situation clearer. Thanks again.

That's just my opinion as the story stands with no season 2. I didn't hate the couple, I just have seen a lot of similar couples in BL series.

I don't get why they are having a hard time getting sponsorsGMM shows usually have a ton of big sponsors. I really hope LBC gets some, because I need this story to be concluded.

I just finished rewatching it AGAIN and it really nearly the best series ever. SOTUS S should be lesson to writers who think adult drama only exists if people are cheating on each other (TWM: NC) or being violent towards each other. Singto and Krist should work together on every project because they are perfect together. I can't wait for Our Skyy!!!!

I didn't like part 1 and I was really upset for the first 2/3s of part 2, then I finally realized how amazing this movie is. Once I accepted how absurd the premise and situations were I loved it. I can't wait to watch part 1 and 2 again and not take anything that's happening seriously. In spite of / because of the ban, the writers did a lot of really cool things with this story.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I'm kinda glad they didn't film part 3. I can skip the crazy drama in the third act of the story and tell myself there is a happy ending immediately after the crash :)

Based on the comments here I didnt have high expectations while watching this but I was still disappointed. It's basically a paint by numbers BL, with characters whose motivations aren't clear for most of the movie, mean parents and all of the baggage that these stories made in China tend to have since the ban.

I thought the sequel was much better, because the story finally made sense.

Pete and Ae were a fine couple, but they had the same few conversations over and over and felt boring and predictable. Tum and Tar had potential, but since it wasn't clear that they weren't blood brothers until the final episode or how old Tar was and Tum attacked Tar for no reason I was never able to connect with the couple. This show used the theme of rape A LOT and what happened with No and Kla was wrong on every level. The writers failed No and that's such a shame.

The worst thing about the series is how TinCan was concluded. Many people have already said it but they deserved better. If there was a season 2 I wouldn't be upset, but since that's not gonna happen the couple ends with Tin crying in a shower having his worst fears confirmed. There are a bunch of average BL shows, but the great couples last in our minds forever. Great couples become great because the audience watches the characters grow and bond over time so they can become invested in the ship. TinCan could have been a great couple, this story really needs a season 2 :(

I don't think I've ever been this disappointed with a BL series, *sigh* I guess I'll go watch SOTUS again.

This show or at least some of the ships could have been great, but in the end it was below average and I'm really disappointed. I'd rate it as a 6 because there were good parts throughout the series, but finale left a lot of questions unanswered. This series really needs a season 2 or a special, but that's not gonna happen :(

Thank you for making me smile. All I wanted for the show that shall not be named was them in love and happy and a great wedding. I wish you were writer for that show because story is perfect.

I wish I could erase the show that shall not be named from my memory. But I'll never forget what HE did :(

I only watched the BL scenes. I wouldn't watch this series again because I didnt feel invested enough in the pairing. I also don't think the humor was funny.

The show is pretty bad until episode 4 and since the series is only 9 episodes I wouldn't recommend this to most people. There is way too much bullying, the main character and his love interest are unlikable and without spoilers the BL scenes are underdeveloped. If you came for BL set in high school watch Make It Right, History: Crossing the Line, or Addicted instead.

Even with the ban this could have been one of the top BL series, but the writers failed spectacularly with the last few episodes. After episode 26 it felt like they dropped the plot and just started doing random things.

Not your typical BL, I really enjoyed it though.
